I was visiting the Assago part of Milan for work and could not get my first choice hotel. As this was one of the few with availability, I thought it was worth giving it a try but expected no more than a 3-4 star operation. I was pleasantly surprised at the size and scale of the rooms. Although the facility and the rooms are slightly dated, the standards the hotel operates to are very good. Everything was nice and neat and the suite-like nature of the rooms - with a separate bedroom area was a nice touch. Breakfast is included and there was an extensive range of continental options available as well as free wifi. Staff were also very helpful - with some nice snacks available daily from the bar. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
Excellent service from start to finish, I requested lower floor as I don't like lifts and I was accommodated on the 2nd floor in a lovely room. Even after we checked out on our 2nd day the staff allowed us to have a picnic on the lovely grounds in the sunshine. The room was spotless, fresh towels and toiletries on both days. This hotel is literally 5 minutes walk to the Mediolanum Forum where we went to see the 2 Cellos. Excellent Shuttle bus service to the metro. I would definitely stay here again.
Huge crack on the inner walls immediately reminded of the latest earthquakes in the country - what if that's a sign for compromised building stability? And completely different upsetting thing - they pour beer at least a finger below the mark on the glass, filling up the rest with a lot of foam. We were about ten people, and visited the bar at least twice - and it was the same for each and every glass though we remarked to the bartender already on the first occasion. Feels like cheap thievery, really disgusting!
Spent 2 nights here so we could be handy for the Green day concert in the forum next door! - and it really was next door.. we could listen to the sound checks from our room! Location is also good for access to the metro and a no-stress visit to the sites of Milan. All in all our room was grand, ok so it's a little dated in terms of decor, but immaculately clean which is what you want. The entrance and reception area are stunning. Breakfast was very continental, and hot food was limited, but it served a purpose. Finally, expedia suggest the daily parking rate is 15e - but this is not the case at weekends which helps a little daff.
Hello, I've been there in order to watch the "trio" 'Aldo Giovanni e Giacomo". I was there just one night (12-13th of May), but it was enough to appreciate the quality of the hotel. The room was large and clean; absolutely perfect for me. I had the opportunity to have the morning breakfast, also, and I really enjoyed it. Plenty of fresh food for any kind of breakfast. 5 stars. Stayed here for 2 weeks and had a mixed experience. Not all staff members are pleasant and behave nicely; many were very good though. If you want laundry for pure leather or suede leather than it's a big No No. My precious gift have been damaged. Fitness room is very small. Rest is still okay.
This is a beautiful hotel with a very unique decor. The breakfast was fantastic with something for everyone (even vegan) and the dinner at the restaurant was very nice. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable, however my only gripe is that there were no tea & coffee making facilities! Other than that it was perfect. We stayed at this hotel because it's right next door to the forum and we were going to see a concert, if you are looking for a hotel close to Milan center for sightseeing then this might not be for you.. As it's about 30 mins on the Metro to get to the central station. Although metro tickets are very cheap!
I was fed up joining the throng of thousands all trying to get home after a gig/concert so decided to treat ourselves and stay here after seeing Muse at the Forum. This hotel is next door to Mediolanum so it's just a short stroll. In my opinion, it is a solid 4* rating with friendly staff, lovely rooms with comfortable beds and a great breakfast with lots of choice.
Stayed here on business. It is a bit outside of Milan city center, however there is a very convenient metro just a couple of minutes walking. Hotel staff very accommodating and friendly to Americans. My room was very comfortable, but Americans need to pack a "wash cloth" should they be accustom to such. American travelers should keep in mind that dinner only begins ~8P. My company office was close by, hence choice, however I will stay here again should I return to Milan.
We were headed to a concert at the Mediolanum Forum and wanted a spot close by-we made the perfect decision staying at the Royal Garden. Property is very well taken care of, you'll see the lawns and gardens attended to daily, Housekeepers do a great job keeping the lobby shining! The restaurant is just a short elevator/escalator/stair 'ride' away. Breakfast is far above anything we have in the USA. Meats, cheeses, juices, cereals, breads, sweets, eggs, you name it, it's there. To compliment, they offer Prosecco and coffee, cappuccino, espresso, latte' - it really is an unbelievable 'buffet'. Word to the wise - when they say it's over at 10;00am, it is over, we saw people turned away but we also saw people being offered what was left. Our room was a Jr. Suite which had an oversized living room, which we appreciated. Couch, desk, table for two and a 'minibar' area were part of the living room. The bedroom held a tv, end tables, a wardrobe closet (with safe). Bathroom is bug, stand alone shower, bidet, We had 2 very large windows that opened!! The hinge on one was broken and there was a note letting us know. Everything from our perspective was clean and well maintained. Our view was nothing great, we overlooked the area where the staff takes a break. From what we could tell, the views are of the Mediolanum Forum (backstage view), a soccer field (which was our view) or the street... We had a car and parking was free if you parked in the outdoor lot, or if you parked in the underground garage, there was a fee--we parked free. There is a mall a short drive away and we found a lot of pizzerias, deli's (which is where you buy liquor), supermarkets and other eateries. Hotel staff was polite, friendly, and although I had a a little trouble with my Italian, we somehow understood each other! They have a nightly 'happy hour' which if you buy a cocktail, there is a small, but adequate buffet, cheese, chips, nuts, meats which is more than enough to hold you over till dinner. Our first night, we purchased the half-board rate which included a 2 course dinner at their restaurant, the Blue Crab. We each had a great salad, I had the pasta which was so light and delicious, my husband had the risotto which was cooked perfectly and he was given a huge amount! Thank you everyone who made our short 2 night stay memorable.
