The staff wasn't very enthusiast, and the room was bad quality with a lot of noise. The price is expensive for the service given. Well located for the people who are going to Politecnico di Milano Bovisa, but not recomended for any reason.
In this price can get a batter hotel for sure. We spend total 8 nights. Room is very old an even room is very dusty. In our toilet some times we are getting hot water. I will not recommend this hotel. Internet is very slow. Matters need to change. I said the toilet there is a bad smell always. Need to improve every thing. Well the location is good but I will not choose this hotel for second time.
I picked this hotel because it was right by the train station and close to my daughter's appartment. I paid $59.00 dollars plus tax including breakfast for two. The hotel is clean with no hidden bells and whistles, free wifi. You walk around the block to the train station, three stops and you are in the middle of Milano.
After having read previous reviews we have been very worried on what we would find but none of the fears came true. The room was warm and so was the bathroom. It was super clean, the ladies who cleaned it were leaving it very tidy every morning. The staff was polite and very willing to help with everything we asked. The room had access to a little terrace which was very convenient for smoking while having a morning coffee. The coffee itself was terrible though. Easy access from Bovisa polytecniko (3min walk ) train station, urban ticket costs 1,50€ while the day one 4,50€. Overall the hotel was as it should be a 3 star hotel. Don't expect the service and luxury of a five star. We rate it excellent keeping that in mind.
Hotel Valganna I found quite by accident. I wanted a hotel close to the train station so I could help my daughter find a better route to school via the train. Hotel Valganna right across the street from the train station, Only 56 dollars a day that included morning breakfast for 2. The hotel has no room service or bell hops. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean. Did I mention Breakfast is included.
The hotel is just 3-4 minutes walk from the Bovisa Politecnico train station that is connected to Milan Central (just 15 minutes train journey) & just 25 minutes from Malpensa Airport. The hotel building looks a letdown from outside but hotel is good from inside. Nothing special but very clean. The room was small in size but again very clean. The tv has no English channel. All staff very efficient. Special mention to a waitress (cant remember her name) at breakfast who was very friendly & took care of our 1 year old baby. Overall good value for money. Would stay again there.Stayed Mid August for 4 nights.
The rooms are very nice and well decorated. The bed is very comfy and the room is somewhat spacious. The bathroom is very large with a good shower. The TV is very good and has lots of channels but none in English sadly. Plenty of closet space and a nice desk to sit at if need be and a huge mirror to do your make-up ladies. However, I was disappointed in having no wi-fi. When I asked at reception, they said you could buy wi-fi, I think it was about 3 euros for an hour or something like that, but you could only use it in the lobby. We did manage to connect to a local wi-fi from our room which must of been from a nearby business but I doubt everyone will be so lucky and it was inconsistent at best. The breakfast was good and the bar area looked good although I never ventured into it. Some restaurants nearby but not many and no sign of nightlife in this area. Only about a 3 minute walk from the local train station so it was quite easy to get in and out of the centre and I think the San Siro was about a 45 minute walk away so not too bad if it's a nice day.
There was a time when 3* hotels were considered a good choice for travelers that were looking for a hotel offering services with an intermediate level of quality. Nice 3* hotels were at that time good enough without becoming sumptuous. Hotel Valganna could still be included in this category. From outside, when we arrive from Milano-Politecnico Bovisa train station, we discover a very simple front. It invites us to think about which hotel we have chosen. But then we cross the door and we discover a hotel very cozy: on the left we have some sofas around a table in front of a television; beside the front desk we have the counter and the restaurant for having breakfast. We are welcomed by smiling staff that will take care of us immediately. If the room is not ready upon arrival our luggage will be kept safe by the hotel. When we walk to the room (we were in room 105) we discover a modern key system that includes an electronic Not Disturb button. The room includes a television, air conditioning system, telephone, wardrobe with safe; the bathroom has a shower, a towels set, hair drier and welcome amenities; the bathroom is very clean and we will feel very comfortable since the first minute we spend here. One critic: concerning the cleanliness, the room was ok but it would have been great not to see a dust layer over the telephone and the table. As per the positive things: the attitude of all the staff during our stay; the quality of the buffet breakfast; general cleanliness of all the facilities; old-fashioned but well-maintained decoration. And overall, excellent price-performance relation: 67€ stay (breakfast included) + 8€ city tax.
hotel has good location if you need to go for the fairs at Rho Fierra (15-20min by train). Rooms are not bad, staff is friendly, but I have no clue how come can it cost 150-170 EUR/night, even though it is Milan and fairs time?? Breakfast is below average and the neighbourhood has nothing to offer - just it's good the train station is very close.
Front Office personal was unhelpful when asked questions, the rooms were dark, old fashioned and really dusty! The window in our room was broken and only fixed with some tape and some kind of canvas. The walls and lampshades were stained. The bed was uncomfortable because you could feel the bedsprings. Wi-fi connection only in the "lobby" (1€ for half an hour), in the room possibility to use ethernet cable, no international tv channels and a poor bar which did not even had beer, the martini tasted dusty with some weird stuff swimming inside.. It is a really noisy hotel, you can hear the shower, toilet and discussions from the rooms around you. The hotel is situated close to the central train station which is the only good point about it.
