Since first staying at Ideals a few years ago, we always make it our absolute first choice whenever we are on Milan. We are welcomed and so well looked after by the excellent staff - thanks, everyone.
I booked this hotel for tonight- unfortunately my flight from London got cancelled because of the snow - they allowed a refund even though the room was no longer refundable. Shows they are understanding
Stayed here for the F1 at Monza 2016. Good hotel and well priced. Breakfast was good, everything very clean, staff very helpful, even though little English spoken still made the effort to resolve all queries. Had a quiet room to the back with a small balcony overlooking the garden. Parking is underground but only 6 very very tight places. Street parking available but metered. Close to metro, tickets form newsagents across the street, plenty of local restaurants near by. Metro to Milan centre is easy but get tickets from newsagents first. Monza was easy too but used metro and over ground train then a half hour walk or short bus ride with the crowd on race day. (Need separate tickets for Monza area zone, must be bought in Monza newsagents). A very enjoyable stay and would use again.
Perfect for a stay while visiting Milan. Close to tram and bus. Professional staff that were friendly and helpful. Room and facilities excellent. Lovely breakfast for 5euro with great coffee in nice dining area or terrace, very pretty. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
We stayed here for 7 nights and loved it. Although neither the bedroom or bathroom were large they were very clean and well serviced each day. Although a good 30 minute walk to the Duomo there are transport links close to the hotel (the number 92 (I think) bus from the road at the rear of the Central Railway station will take you pretty much to the hotel door - get off at V.le Dei Mille P.za Novelli stop). A fairly good choice at the breakfast buffet with some nice coffee too. We particularly enjoyed sitting outside in the lovely little garden especially on our return to the hotel after a busy day of sightseeing. A special mention must be made - Nicola on the front desk was friendly and helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble, he is a real credit to this hotel.
I have already stayed twice at the Hotel Ideale and I will certainly go back again! Lovely especially in Spring and Summer, I was happy to discover the peaceful backyard garden lounge space. I enjoyed the homemade cakes for breakfast and my comfortable spacious room with a big balcony. I was able to park my car for free in front of the Hotel both times. Nicola and Antonio are especially kind and helpful. Again thank you for helping me recover my mobile phone!
Recommend this hotel for great hospitality. Only disappointment was the very limited space we got in room and bathroom. But the whole package was magnificent. Worth the money. May return in the near future.
The hotel is simple and nice, the hotel staff were helpful and accommodating with my requests. You can get a bus to and from the main train station but need to buy your ticket before catching the bus. From the hotel if you prefer the metro it's about a 15 min walk. Breakfast as usual but the nice treat was the garden lounge area it the back of the hotel. Did also see they have a parking garage but only smaller cars since the entry is only about 1.8-2m tall. Overall this was a nice stay.
Nice place with cordial staff in a good position, the breakfast was not very good ( the food was old, fruits especially). The room was clean but not so comfortable. For the same price is possible to find better places.
I spent several days in this hotel in Nov/2016. It is a small, but quite, net and comfortable hotel. The room I was, is small (and had the ceiling lower (as under a escalator type), but had most of the good comfort. The bathroom was fine (all rooms has bathroom). TV with cable program mostly Italian. Bed is good. The breakfast, included in the price, is very good with selections. Room has small refrigerator (comes with free water - plain or with gas) and a good air conditioning (heat/cold). The reception people is very kind and friendly. It seems that the hotel customers are more from Italy and Europe, but is possible to communicate in English. There is no significant structure for urgent repair problems (such as a water leakage etc) - so if it happens you need to wait or change room. Wifi is very good and free. Location of the hotel is in a nice mixed area of Milano (residential and office) with avenues with trees, and several public transportation (buses 54 and 62) has a stop few meters from Hotel). Metro and train stations are also not far from hotel. For tourism, you may go to Duomo by walking (abt 20 min) and from there to other attractions as Castello Sforzesco. Direct bus to Teatro alla Scala, Hotel does not have restaurant (except for breakfast) but several good restaurants are located within walking distances (better to call them for reservation). If you bring a larger baggage you shall be aware that when entering hotel from street there is an escalator down - without elevator (so you may need help) - but then inside hotel there is an elevator from reception for the rooms. There is a garage in the hotel (which I did not use). In view of all above, the hotel has an excellent cost/benefit rate and is a good option within its range in Milano.
