We are Marriott Vacation Club owners and traded for our visit here. For a non- beach, waterfront resort, this is a nice, smaller property in spite of the issues with proximity to the airport and the construction. Seems that staff bends over backward to compensate for this with extra pleasant service. The pool area is nice, albeit smaller than most Marriott resorts. The activity staff at the pool is super nice and accommodating. Units are well furnished and clean and well socked. Most of the Marriott resorts have lock-offs for the two bedroom units- this does not and the result is that the second bedroom faces the front entrance with no balcony or view. One negative, the poolside restaurant is a very small snack shop, not a restaurant. Food is ok , but there are really no waitresses, the bar tender tries to manage both functions. There are only 3-4 tables and a very small bar. There are lots of restaurants near by but traffic in this area and all of Miami is an absolute killer- stressful to go anywhere! The numerous, colorful ducks on the property are delightful!
I was worried about being so close to the airport and also concerned about the construction of buildings going on across the lake from this resort. But those things were not a problem at all. The resort is lovely (the typical Marriott resort: beautiful, very clean, great amenities and wonderful employees!). We had family fly in from Michigan, Los Angeles and California and stayed through Easter week. The pool was so much fun for all of us, from our 3 year old grandson to his 72 year old grandpa! The setting is lovely with lots of large palm trees. We were able to get a room in the main building and so were close to the pool. I worried at first that it might get very noisy at night but it never did. Lots of families stayed here but also lots of couples and every range in age. We had a wonderful time and will probably stay here again.
We just returned from five nights at this resort. We thought the villas were great and truly a home away from home. We enjoyed the pool and resort activities with our two young children. We have family in the area that we were visiting and this was a perfect home base for us. It was clean and well equipped. Location was easy and about 25 minutes to the beach and zoo Miami. Grocery store, Walmart, and lots of restaurants nearby. Plane traffic and construction didn't bother us at all. The only thing that could improve is the poolside grill. We thought the food was mediocre and service wasn't that great, but it was fine for snacks and drinks while at the pool. You can also just grocery shop and bring your own snacks and drinks to the pool. We will likely return to this resort next time we are visiting.
Visiting Miami for a week. It is nice to have a small apartment instead of a small hotel room. The place definitely needs remodeling, it seems very outdated in comparison to other Marriott resorts. The villas are clean and well equipped. Location is very good, nice part of the city.
This was our first visit to Marriotts Villas in Doral, Florida. We were kind of worried because there were mixed reviews but we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the resort was. The staff we encountered we're always smiling and pleasant and greeted us positively. We had a two bedroom with plenty of space, and well-stocked. They don't do room cleaning unless you request it and pay extra, however, there is plenty of paper products to last the whole week. Their large Fitness Center had more equipment than most resorts and overlooked the pool area and was next to the game center. We were here for the Miami open on Key Biscayne. It was roughly 25 to 30 minutes away. It was centrally located and we found restaurants, fast food, shopping centers all within 1520 minutes or less. It is quite close to the Miami International Airport so you might hear an airplane or two. We were on the first floor so we didn't hear it very much, especially after you close the door. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.
We have stayed here several times and each time it gets better. The interior of the villa we stayed has been redone and is very nice. Everything worked as it should. The villa's are clean and well equipped. The only two things we did not like: The free wifi is not very stable and speed could be much better. The other thing that we don't like is to be bothered by phone messages or calls trying to get you interested in their promotion of the villa's.
Fairly small complex for a vacation villa. Had a two bedroom, two bathroom, full kitchen, dining room. Rooms had ample room, were very clean and staff were great. The pool was the right size and most days it was not very crowded. Located about 30 minutes drive from the beach so not the best place if laying on the beach was your goal. Right across from Trump Doral golf complex. Not much tourist type activity in the area so the hotel had small activities of their own. Plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area. Small restaurant on site. Guests were mostly families, couples. I requested and received a handicap room. Roll-in shower and grab bars by the toilet. I got points for being a Marriott Rewards Menber
We have stayed at many Marriott Vacation properties and found this one in Doral to be delightful. Arrived on a Sunday afternoon, warm greeting at the front desk. Our villa wasn’t ready yet, however we only had to wait an hour, went for lunch and it was done. Beautiful villa which was decorated beautifully. Nice view from every building. The villas are very large and comfortable. The Fitness centre is impressive, roomy with everything you need. Staff at the Deco grill were friendly and the menu had a lot of options. Great food. Beautiful pool area. The activities team kept things busy, lots to do if you wanted to participate. There was even a very interesting and impressive wild animals visit on Thursday. Scorpion, Cane toad, albino Burmese python, porcupine, barn owl, kinkaju, anteater, lemur, baby alligator, and a fox. Loved it! There was a shuttle service from 6:30am to 10:00pm. The drivers were excellent, very accommodating. They would take you to Publix, restaurants in downtown Doral and Trump National across the street. Very nice service. Would definitely return. One suggestion would be due to the nearby construction, the tile floors in the villa feel a bit grimy. Hotel slippers for the guests would be an excellent amenity.
I was booked at the Marriott Villas by my company as I had some business in Doral. It is more of a timeshare style resort so not great for business. The rooms are very large and have a kitchen style set-up which is great for a large group-but as I was in town on business and not spending much time in the room I really just needed a Keurig and a couple bottles of water. However, everyone I encountered there was very friendly, helpful and professional. The property was very quiet and clean, and they keep the grounds looking good. There was a bar across the lake where I could hear a group having a wild Karaoke party but it was more amusing than annoying.... If I were on vacation I would have had a much better time here. For business though, next time I will probably try some of the properties out near Dolphin Mall (nothing personal Marriott Villas.)
We needed a place for 10 adults (5 couples) to stay before leaving on a cruise. We found these villas online and the price was reasonable. All of us were very happy! Rebecca at the front desk was exceptional and the shuttle driver was awesome! We were treated very well by all the staff, and our rooms were great! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
