Been coming to Marriott Villas since 2002. It’s 2 bedroom /2 bath villas with full kitchen and sofa bed. Very comfortable. Guests have access to the trump property across the street. My daughter 10yrs old loves their water slide.
We stayed here a week, unfortunately during Hurricane Irma. The day we arrived we couldn't use the pool as it was closed even though the Hurricane wasn't arriving for 2 days which we were a bit upset about. All video games in the games room were unplugged for Irma again a bit premature. After the Hurricane it took 5 days to open the pool again as we were leaving. I understand every hotel needed there pool cleaned so can't blame the hotel. Trump pool was open after 3 days so we were able to use that pool on the last couple of days. The hotel provides a courtesy bus to and from the hotel when ever you want which is very convenient. The owners or managers of the Marriott put on a free BBQ after the Hurricane which was very nice of them considering nothing was open and no taxis or Uber operating. The hotel has a mini golf and good gym also. The owners and staff are all very friendly people. The only 2 bad things were, there was no bag service, I was struggling with 6 suitcases and 6 bags putting them on the trolley and pushing them up to my room in the heat. The rooms were clean. The air conditioning was bad as there is only one control for the whole 2 bed apartment with only one thermostat so the 2nd small bedroom blows in very cold air trying to cool down the main rooms but doesn't know the small bedroom is already freezing. This needs to be updated before I stay here again as it made me sick. I love the Pub across the Rd in the car park it has fantastic choice of beer and good food.
Well kept suites large and spacious with all amenities feels like a home away from home .... excellent place for families and girlfriend trips. The location is perfect for shoppers as it is close to dolphin mall and the airport ....
This Marriott vacation club hotel is really nice. Great pool. Reception was nice. Room is great, spacious, full kitchen. Nice activities for kids and adults. Easy access. Free parking. Free wi-fi. I would recommend this hotel!
My family and I spent 7 nights at this resort from the 8th of August. We stayed on the 4th floor in the Hibiscus building. The villa's second bedroom was way to small. When we opened up the sofa bed it blocked access out of the room through the door. The only way out of the room was through the bathroom. Due to the material used on the floor of the shower in the master bedroom, I slipped and fell hitting my right hip and lower leg as I fell. It was nice to be able to visit Trump National and use the gym which was better equipped. The shuttle service was quite efficient. Media room very comfortable.
Horrible just Horrible - BED BUGS FOLKS!!!!! What a beautiful place only to be highly disappointed when we found BED BUGS ON AUGUST 11, 2017 ! TAKE YOUR FAMILY SOMEWHERE ELSE...... The place really looks awesome - but don't be fooled my daughter was bitten several times and all they did for uis was put 10, 000 reward points and gave us a refund that they try to call a complimentary night... I don't think so see we paid for the room i advance 3 months to be exact so REFUND was in order yet they say we comped you the night..... STAY AWAY !!!
Stayed at this property for 6 nights in August for biz travels to Miami area. Though an older property, the rooms seem to have been recently remodeled and are in great shape (at least our room in the Hibiscus building / top floor / corner). All the usual high end furnishings of a Marriott Vacation Club / Villas. Property is well maintained and rooms are extremely clean. Property has a somewhat small pool and adequate work-out room. There is a walkway by the lagoon/pond that features bbq grills for guests and a small miniature golf area. The property is being limited in its possibilities due to the fact that it's located smack in the middle of Northwest Miami and close the airport - there is simply no room to add outdoor amenities. BUT: All the staff we interacted with were extremely friendly/efficient/helpful - Thank You. Though this is not intended as a determent to staying there, please do not confuse the Marriott Villas at Doral with Marriott Vacation Club properties. Though the rooms are certainly of equal quality, the size/layout of the property is not. As a Marirott Villas guest, you have the complimentary option of using the large pool and facilities(?) at the Trump National Doral across the street ( there's a complimentary shuttle that runs throughout the day). We used the Doral pool one day and I must say, that it was quite disappointing. Though quite large, the Doral pool shows it's age: tired loungers and chair mats were worn and stained, towels thin, water lines in pools deserve some attention. Pool bathrooms though were well maintained and clean. Pool staff was also very friendly and attentive - no complaints here. Did not dine at the pool grill but the menu looked good and grill area was well maintained. (Note: concerning the construction at adjacent property: it's really 'across the pond' and not really noticeably as they're just doing earth moving at this point. AND YES: you will see and hear planes on their approach to Miami International during the day only, ie nothing that will disturb your sleep at night- I actually enjoyed looking at these planes from a somewhat close range). Overall, in my humble opinion, the Marriott Villas Doral are a great place to stay for biz travelers to Miami that wish to bring their families or families that need a larger place to stay while exploring Miami or shopping in any of the huge malls within a few miles - enjoy - we certainly did.
This was my second time staying at this resort and I must admit they are all about customer service. They renovated the rooms from when I last stayed a few years ago. I traded into this property from my Interval Timeshare and received a two bedroom unit. The unit was immaculate with upgraded modern amenities. It happened to be my birthday during my stay and my mother in NJ requested to provide a cheese tray for the room as a surprise and they went above and beyond to provide a lovely cheese, fruit and champagne platter for myself and guests with a lovely balloon and card signed by the staff. To top it off they didn't charge my mother for this and stated they wanted to provide complimentary. This was a wonderful gesture and so very much appreciated. The staff is very warm and friendly and I would definitely recommend staying here as I thoroughly enjoyed! It only takes a small gesture to provide a lasting impression. Kudos Marriot to mastering the art of customer service!
I stayed there with my family of four over the past week. Overall, while I must admit that the exterior is pretty normal and not too grand, the actual villa itself is wonderful. Very comfortable, with two rooms, 2 bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, a nice living room and a balcony with a table with chairs that has a wonderful view of the lake (great place to have breakfast by the way!). The villa also comes with a dishwasher and laundry machines. Room service is good, although apparently you need to be selected to receive service for free, which happened for us. Most staff are more comfortable with Spanish, but know English well enough generally - this of course applies to Miami as a whole. We got used to the villa very quickly and it was very comfortable indeed. The pictures I saw online on TripAdvisor are very accurate representations of the rooms if you're trying to get an idea of how it looks. They also have some nice facilities such as a game room, a pool and a jacuzzi but I didn't use too many of these because I was busy exploring Miami. The Jacuzzi was great though, and the pool looked nice. The tiny convenience store they have is kinda expensive, but there's a CVS super nearby so you're set. Overall, great stay, spacious and comfortable. Oh and the beds are very comfortable too! Enjoy your stay if you choose this!
For those visiting the Miami area, this Marriott resort provides good accommodations for larger-sized families. We found everything to be clean and well kept. Also, they actually have a dining table with that fits 6 people (with 6 chairs). Have been so frustrated in the past with places that sleep 6/8 but only provide 4 chairs for the kitchen/dining table .. what's with that? Nonetheless, liked the layout of resort and appreciated that they have a bit more to offer families than other places we've stayed at. The lawn game area, miniature golf course and various games near the pool were nice. Also enjoyed the outdoor BBQ grills on the property - they are high quality cooking grills and definitely worth taking advantage of. Good job, Marriott. The place also works hard to have a lot of activities going on each day for different interests and age groups that are either free or relatively small cost involved. The only downside we saw.. there's a lot of traffic of flights (from the West) approaching the MIA airport. The resort has good soundproofing, so while the noise from the arriving flights is something you'll be able to hear, you would have to be a VERY light sleeper for it to be an issue.
