We got a room on the second floor and the only positiv thing was that the bed sheets were white and clean. Separate toilette and bathroom, the toilette smelled urin. The bathroom zinc was terrible. A run-down hotel that have seen better days.
Hotel is in a great location, next to Central hub of public transportation so perfect if you have no car. We parked in an underground parking garage across the street from the hotel & received a discount from hotel. Easily walkable to literally everything you need. The room itself was incredibly dated & really use new mattresses & pillows... Very uncomfortable. Room supplied a fan which was definitely needed in June. Overall stay wasn't bad, but could be incredible if updated for comfort.
We stayed for the central location. It was directly opposite the Gare de Metz and we had a little balcony to enjoy the activity outside. Yes the rooms are very compact and the shower needs an adroit manoeuvre to access, but I am comfortably built and coped as did my husband. The lift is a bonus and did manage two of us and our four small bags quite fine. (Unless you pack in the biggest suitcase available, you will be fine. Great access (stroll) to the Pompidou centre and walk to the cathedral was very manageable also through fascinating streets. Excellent value!
Very good breakfast: eggs, French bakery, good coffee, French cheese. Good location, right in the center, so you can walk everywhere. Helpful reception. We also had a beautiful view to the buildings of the station (a highlight of the city).
The hotel is well located, close to the station and the downtown. The rooms are small but clean. The rooms are very poorly acoustically isolated and when the people in the next rooms flushed their toilets we could hear it as if it was our own. It was rather cold, but we could not switch on the heating. The personnel at the reception can barely speak any English and it's thus difficult to get any information. Apparently, it has recently been upgraded to a three-star-hotel, but two would seem more appropriate.
Horrible room, very dirty bathroom. More quests were complaining at front desk. Too make things worse, we paid double fro the rooms - I already pre-paid for the room via Booking.com and after a long trip I accidently paid at the counter as well. As I asked to reimburse the double payment, they could not help me and referred me to the Manager (that was never on the premises). Now 4 weeks later I still have not been reimbursed.
Stayed just one night on way to Slovenia. Chose the hotel for location and parking. Parking is not on site but just opposite and we were fortunate to find a space big enough for car and trailer but frankly would have been stuffed if that one space hadn’t been free. Navigating the way out of the car park on foot was a challenge. The hotel was directly opposite so not a major issue. There were a lot of steps up to the hotel reception although a lift is available it’s not immediately apparent. The room had a modern look to it but was basic. The en suite was small but adequate and quite a good shower. However room was way too hot even with window open Breakfast was minimalist but satisfactory. Staff friendly
I got there in June on a Saturday afternoon, was actually a bit uneasy about the place but took the room anyway, Had to pay all tree nights along with breakfast and taxes before I got the key and my mistake was paying in cash. Saw the room for 10 min and knew I could not stay there little fan for air conditioning, window did not open , roller shade broken, bath room with mold. I cancelled and payed for one night and asked for the difference back. No way she said it is already in the bank !!! on Saturday night ??? Came the next day again for the money was told it will be in your credit card tomorrow and you get a e mail. 2 weeks later I did not get anything, neither mail nor money. Will not give up, So I cannot recommend this hotel Gerlinde , Pennsylvania
I think the hotel is good, clean and very central. That is my expectations from hotel. Breakfast is OK. Not waited too much choice from my accomadations. The stuff is also very helpful. For me to travel, alerion is the most convenient place.. Cheers Ernur
We stayed in this hotel in August with our young son who left one of his favourite toys behind - the staff were very kind and have posted it back to us in the UK free of charge. We couldn't thank them enough - service above and beyond :)
