Staff were helpful and courteous and the cafe in the restaurant was excellent! Loved the design and concept of the building and was a convenient location for us. However, the room had an extremely hard mattress, the walls were in poor condition (left over from previous water damage), the pool, although a beautiful layout, was freezing cold. The marketing on expedia was well done, but in reality, the hotel was shabby. The ownership needs to invest in some proper renovations. Our light fixture in the bathroom had exposed wiring that was fastened with electrical tape. The room did not have sufficient lighting and our table lamp didn't have a switch so we had to get behind the bedside table to unplug it to turn it off. The shower had reasonable pressure but the door didn't keep water from leaking around the bathroom floor creating a dangerous pool. We had to move rooms because there was a sewer backup into our shower. The staff were accommodating but we were not offered any compensation for the inconvenience of having our bathroom smell and look like an outhouse in the shower. Soundproofing is poor as we could hear loud activity at 6am from an adjacent building along with noise from the second floor hotel room above us as the floors are wood. Beware there was no in-room safe and I had to leave identification at the front desk as a "deposit" to get pool towels. Staff were great but ownership needs to step up.
