Casa San Angel has become my favorite hotel in the world. Absolutely beautiful lobby open to the sky surrounded by a balcony where most of the guest rooms are. The restaurant in the lobby is charming and serves continuously all day. Our room was large, wonderfully decorated as was the large bathroom. Our three day visit was a perfect experience. Special thanks to Sara and Roberto in reception for their excellent service.

I arrived, and there was no sign that this was the hotel we waited 15 minutes at the door until somebody open, the hotel decoration was very nice, but the bed was so small, and even the blankets were tiny, we slept very bad, The advertising said a fabulous breakfast the bread from the oven to the table; they gave us a cup of coffee, 2 1 slice ob Bimbo bread toasted some butter an marmalade, we have to complain a lot. The staff was amicable and professional, but between the bed and the breakfast I was very disappointed mainly because the rates were high, I 'll never come back

We stayed here this week on a 3 night trip to Merida. We were delighted with the hotel from the moment we arrived, the reception area is beautiful, a courtyard in Hacienda style. Our rooms were beautiful, with en suite bathrooms. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff were really helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The location of the hotel is very good, central between the Paseo de Montejo and the historic centre so everything is in an easy walking distance. There is a lovely cafe/restaurant on the ground floor which is open 7.30am -8pm, breakfasts are brilliant. Overall this hotel offers excellent value for money. We had 2 large and beautiful rooms for our family and the total bill was approx £350 for 3 nights. From my stay, I would suggest they could easily charge more for the quality and location. Highly recommend it.

I especially enjoyed the spacious and quiet room. The many plants and colourful wall paintings are a question of taste. The food at the restaurant was ok and the pool is too small really. But we found this hotel to be the perfect retreat while exploring the city.

Lovely stay here added an extra night. This hotel caters to your every whim books in lounge ..water available ...nice places to sit outside your room a small pool loads of beautifully attended plants all around the courtyard .. fun hammocks in the room was a gem find it’s also situated at the top of the montego. The owner is in attendance in the background and ensures the details of good customer care is carried out in a very professional and caring way. I highly recommend this hotel The hotel is named as a nod to the san angel inn in Mexico City . My only comment re my booking is that it indicates breakfast however it is only a small continental breakfast however the menu is pretty reasonable if you want something a bit heartier. The shop on the side sells lovely artisan goods which are reasonable in prices and have some really interesting art work from local artisans.

We loved our week at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice, with quiet AC and ceiling fans, and a good sized bathroom. They provide bottled water in the room every day, and there is a large water dispenser outside the room, so you can fill up as much as you need, when you want it. We used the hammock in the room and in the common area quite a lot, which was lovely. The pool is quite small, but was more than enough to take a cooling dip in the afternoon. The courtyard is beautiful and relaxing, and the cafe fed us well. Do note that the continental breakfast that comes with the room consists of coffee, choice of fruit plate or fruit juice, and toast with jam. You can order more for breakfast and just pay for whatever the extra cost was. They also have lunch and a nice selection of sweets. The location was perfect, as it is right at the end of the Paseo de Montejo, and is a short walk into the more boisterous center by the zocalo. We will definitely stay here again if we are back in Mérida and highly recommend it.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at Hotel Casa San Angel and found it to be a great location for exploring Mérida. Lots to see nearby in the City Center and on the Paseo de Montejo. Everything in the hotel is clean and beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms have fans and air-conditioning. There is seating in the common areas for reading, planning your day or taking in the attractive surroundings. The hotel offers free WiFi. A tasty continental breakfast with a particularly good fresh fruit plate, is included in your room rate, or you can choose reasonably priced breakfast dishes from a large menu. There are many good restaurants, bars and cafes within walking distance. We especially liked Oliva Kitchen and Manjar Blanco, both within a block or two of the Hotel. We highly recommend this excellent accommodation!

This hotel is soooo cute....the location, the service, the ambiance, the price are fabulous....loved the experience. The only negative was that the bed was a bit narrow for 2 people, but the rest was great....The cleaning and maintenance of this old and beautiful house is superb. It also has a very good restaurant with home made pastries and very good coffee for breakfast. Also serve lunch and dinner.

We arrived around 8:30 pm and to our surprise, found the front door locked. We rang the door bell, to have the door opened and greeted by name from Roberto. He made us feel like favorite family returning for a visit from the first step inside. The door opens to a quaint courtyard, with plants, parrots and painted murals on the wall. All rooms are located upstairs overlooking this courtyard. The rooms are simple, comfortable and come with WiFi and a hammock. Located right on Passeo De Montejo, with some great free events on the weekend. Walking distance (10 minutes) to Plaza Grande with more actives and restaurants at your disposal. The is a small restaurant and boutique on site. There is a very small splash pool with two lounge chairs for a quick dip. While most of the staff did not speak much English, they smiled and greeted us warmly each day. Roberto is truly a star employee. He helped us with our Spanish, arraigned a tour and even a rental car. We felt so at home and truly welcome upon each return from our daily ventures. Sarah helped us figure out sites to see and gave wonderful recommendations.

I travel frequently to Mérida and have stayed in many of the hotels there, but Cada San Angel is my favorite. The location can’t be beat, and the accommodation is lovely. The rooms are large and nicely appointed, beds are extremely comfy, and the setting is peaceful. I’ve become a loyal regular, and the staff are also an important part of what makes this place special.
