Lovely Hotel very conveniently located at the top of the Paseo. Central Location makes it accessible to all the cities many cultural offerings and restaurants. Super- friendly staff keeps everything running like a clock! Room is spotless!

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and our 2nd stay was as great as the 1st. The staff remembered us from the last time & we even got to stay in the same suite as the first time which really made it feel like home. The bed is very comfortable and the water pressure in the shower is fabulous. We also enjoy the bathrobes they provide. The location is great for the Sat night entertainment and conveniently located in the colonial zone. We will definitely be back.

Excellent well managed boutique hotel at the edge of Merida's high end neighborhood. The staff is superb. Wonderful atmosphere of an old colonial Spanish hacienda with a modern artisan flair. Rooms are spotless and comfortable. The restaurant is really nice and offered well prepared meals at fair prices. The arrechara flank steak was the best we had anywhere and we order it often. Walking distance to Plaza Mayor and parking is secure. Merida is very safe and walking around in the evening was never a problem. We will return to Casa San Angel again for sure.

The hotel was great. It was only a five to ten minute walk to the historical center of town with plenty of things to do along the way. The hotel restaurant was good but it was a huge plus to have Oliva, a great Italian restaurant, at current moment, about 1 block away. The staff was very friendly and informative, going above and beyond on more than one occasion. The hotel itself is beautiful, featuring a wonderful atrium garden and very cool mounted mirrors among other art work. ++ for ambiance! We used their recommended trip service to go to Uxmal and Kabah ruins and we felt like it was a very good tour for the money. Overall, our stay here was really great, such that we felt at home returning each night. The only issues we had were that we thought they had a fitness center but they didn't and that the internet in the rooms was a little slow and kicked us off sometimes. Again, these were minor issues. We hope this review helps!

A beautiful hotel, amazing food and in a great location, my only comment is due the fact their parking lot its a bit too small and no iron board ... but totally recommend it

Casa angel is a beautiful quaint hotel with old world flair. The employees are courteous , responsive and efficient. We enjoyed our stay and will more than likely return!

it´s very well located and the rooms are very nice each with a different and a very mexican style, they made our staying unforgettable

Selecting this hotel made our stay in Merida a truly fine vacation. Best location on the Montejo for a walk to the Plaza or along the boulevard; quiet, comfortable room; and the staff could not be more courteous and helpful.

We enjoyed 2 comfortable nights at the Hotel Casa San Angel, driving there from Cancun via Chichen Itza and taking a day trip to Uxmal. Parking was easy (and free) on the street, but there's also lot parking available. The hotel itself is delightful, with an open courtyard (atrium) filled with plants and vines. The walls and lofty ceilings on the on the surrounding loggia are artistically painted with vines and clouded blue skies. The hotel features an excellent restaurant, where we ate breakfast and enjoyed fresh breads and pastries from their on-site bakery. There are comfortable couches and chairs on both the upper and lower loggia--a good place to access the free WiFi, which doesn't seem to reach into the thick-walled rooms. The large, high-ceiling rooms are tastefully decorated with ample storage space, large bathroom (and big shower with ample hot water and thick towels) and a comfortable bed. One special feature is a hammock hanging out of the way on a hook, with a matching hook across the room near the large window for easy slinging. I fell asleep in it one evening just after I'd put down my glass of tequila. Although our room was on a street (47th), it was surprisingly quiet and could be darkened even during the day with the blackout shade. The air conditioning was quiet and effective, but be aware that the control is in a drawer next to the bed, with a separate control for the large TV, which itself is hidden discreetly from view in a tasteful cabinet.. Seating in our room was limited to one chair and the light was okay, but not great for reading. I think this is the only thing that brought it down to less than perfect with room comfort and amenities. A few additional comments include that the staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and desk staff fluent in English. Beautiful ground floor rooms with arched brick-lined ceilings like those in the dining room are home to a government-linked Fonart store, which we found offered the best shopping for folk art in Merida. The area around the hotel is safe and offers pleasant walks. The hotel has the zocalo and several outstanding restaurants (check standard online sources) within easy walking distance. We've been to Merida several times before and would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great location, very clean, exellent rooms and beds, very quiet, very helpful and quite accomodating staff. Frankly, could not have asked for anything better.
