We have now been in Mexico for the weeks and this is the most beautiful of the hotels we have stayed in. Add to that the extreme helpfulness of Julio on reception who was totally brilliant when we had a problem with one of our tyres. I'd suggest you stay two nights here as it is so beautiful. Arrive, swim in the pool. Explore the grounds. Maybe the light show. Then early the next day visit the site. You then need a long cooling swim! And a siesta. The food was good as well. Expensive by Mexican standards but not internationally. We preferred this to the Mayaland Hotel in Cichen Itza where we also stayed. The chocolate museum was also a good experience.
Perfect location to visit the ruins of Uxmal which are just across the road. The hotel is nice. The rooms are nice and pretty large. We had a jacuzzi in the bathroom. The restaurant was good. The staff was friendly and helpful.
I visited this wonderful hotel/spa/museum with friends. What a treasure! Words can hardly describe just how much there is to do here. Museum. Land Rover tours. Great food. Excellent and caring service. English speaking staff. Working plantation. Close to many Mayan ruins. Archeological oasis. It is obvious that the owners of this hotel are passionate about quality in every way. I highly recommend it.
Beautiful, well kept, friendly staffed hotel a short walk from the ancient city of Uxmal. TripAdviser insists on 200 characters. I think most people prefer a concise review. You can go to the Hotel's website for more pictures.
The hotel is very well located, it is at 5 minutes walking from Uxmal archeological park. We booked a guide at the reception and we visited the park totally with very few tourists! it has been an amazing experience. We were there in August and it was very hot. Being so close is the only way to be there early and when it is less humid. Be careful because there are a lot of mosquitos. the hotel is very well equipped (towels, hairdryer, shampoo and soap),clean and characteristic. The restaurant is very very good! I totally recommend it! There is the chocolate museum at 2 minutes walking, it is a nice experience! I give 4 out of 5 only because it is a little bit "less" than the Mayaland in chichèn itza.
Great hotel to stay with nice spacious rooms and authentic decoration - all airconditioned and very clean. Wonderfull pool in the inner court with a little bar next to it. Very calm atmosphere with real hacienda feeling, including animals such as Tarantulas and Iguanas 😀. Better have your door to your room closed any time. The archeological site of Uxmal is only 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel whichbis vety convinient.
As part of our Legends of Yucatan tour we stayed in this hotel and it was by far favourite. The story is that the owners found some ruins and then built the hotel in the form of a Hacienda around them. All the room open out onto the central area, which contains the pool. We wee there during the off season, so we had the hotel virtually to ourselves, which only added to the romance of the place. It is literally situated in the jungle and therefore very remote. for those of you who have a sweet tooth there is a chocolate museum situated next door, where you can discover who chocolate came to be so important to the local diet. it is also right next door to the Maya remains at Uxmal, thus for those on the tour there was no long jury to see this UNESCO World Heritage site. Be warned though it is fully booked during the season. Finally for those who are interested or bothered, Queen Elizabeth stayed in this hotel.
Nice ❤️ Beautiful place, food is a good, plantations are long.... Comfortable rooms. Food is very delicious 😋 This is another world, not like a Russia ... Mexico is magic country with amazing people! Want to return!
From the bellboy to front desk to the bar, the restaurant including the chef the staff was first rate. The buildings and rooms, grounds and pool are not new but well maintained and charming, very old-Mexico. The uxmal ruins are walking distance so you couldn't be in a better spot. We would go again just for a restful hotel stay. There is an outdoor restaurant patio that is brilliant with staff that treated us like honoured guests. We told Julio at the front desk that I was vegan and they had three options for me and also made a special watermelon gazpacho with cubes of beets since the bread wasn't vegan. GF had a wonderful caprese salad which she loved. The complementary continental breakfast was very good, served by the pool with very good coffee and juice. A couple of small tweaks were no issue. From arrival to departure we were pampered and felt cared for. This place could teach many other hotels what service and friendliness actually are. We hope to be back.
The hotel service, food and accommodations were great. The staff went overboard to make us feel welcome. The location is a 5 minute walk away. Food was good. The grounds were very well kept and the staff was working to keep the place clean.
