After staying here for 2 nights and then reading reviews I'm reluctant to mention what others have said about the cost of the food. Anyone commenting on the food prices seem to be lambasted by the owner. Here goes...we loved the place but lost some weight because we refused to pay the high prices for their food. By the time we got to this hotel we had been traveling Mexico for 2 months. Sorry but your food prices are high. But the rest of our time was very good!! Thanks!!

This is a strikingly beautiful place, in a great location in walking distance from the pyramids, with great, friendly service and great food. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is that in this day and age, not having good internet is like not having hot water. Their wireless internet service is okay for sending email but not much else. There are dead spots (including our room) where there is no wireless at all. So, it's great if you want to unplug and lie in the sun all day. If you want to do any business, forget it.

The Hacienda Uxmal is a long established hotel of high quality and reputation. It is beautiful, clean and stylish. The WiFi is spotty. Prices vary so shop on line with care. The services are excellent and it is conveniently located for museums, Puuc Road, Lotun and Uxmal.

What a gorgeous place! Fabulous grounds. Excellent service by all staff. Restaurant, indoors or outdoors, was superb. Waiters were extremely attentive and the shrimp dish I had was THE BEST shrimp dish I've EVER had! They earned their 5 star rating.

We came from Chitzen Itza with all the hustle and found an oasis near the Uxmal archeological site. This old hacienda has the basics and a nice pool too. Reception is friendly and helpful. Room are clean with a little missing security. We would appreciate a more up to date lock at the door and a safe The restaurant has good local food and the breakfast selection is decent and tasted very good. We like the local fruits , which are fully ripe and are much better than in the US. With this full breakfast you can skip lunch At the night of our arrival we attended the light and sound show, which was overwhelming and very professional The position of the various building was taken full advantage. The sky above is unbelievable and just minutes before the start of the show, the „Maya star „ Venus was setting So a perfect setup Early morning we visited the sites , were the setting is much different than in Chichen Itza No trinket dealers are around and you can climb up many places if you want, however you must keep your balance. Uxmal is a world Heritage and by all means , there are not so many places in the world , which can compete You can experience the whole splendor of the Mayan culture This had been the highlight of our trip to Yucatán

We stayed 5 days in another hotel, and we loved the food there but decided to have a special dinner before leaving the area. The buffet meal was average and was very expensive for this part of Mexico. We just weren't impressed. There was a salad table, a soup, hot foods and dessert table. $330 pesos p/p and did not include a beverage. I do not feel it was worth the cost for buffet food. I'm glad I noticed a 10% tip was included on the bill. The service was fine, just expected a better quality dinner. A few years ago we had the buffet and really enjoyed it. I guess you can't duplicate an experience. It is a lovely hotel though. It was nice walking the grounds, and looking at all the photos of famous prior visitors.

An old hacienda in beautiful grounds with a decent size swimming pool. Nature inspired stained glass panels in the rooms and around the Huge jacuzzi bath. The bathroom was bigger that some single rooms I have experienced! Clean and comfortable though again the bed a bit firm. Lovely evening spent at the bar checking out the cocktails and snacks. Some staff friendly than others

The best place to stay if you want visiting the Uxmal site. Spent 3 nights at the Hacienda Uxmal. Hacienda is perfect: with louvre shutters on the windows, wooden floors, huge rooms - cool and spacious, each with a separate en suite bathroom (just as huge), firm bed & pillows, ceiling fan or air con. We stayed in The corner room has huge windows with open views to trees and palms and bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and the bathroom mirror is designed for people of Mayan stature. We were also following in famous footsteps - Grace Kelly & Prince Rainer, Henry Kissinger, Jackie Kennedy,Queen Elisabeth II… Hacienda is located directly across the street from the amazing Mayan ruins of Uxmal, but all of you can visit and sites of Pook's route. We visited: Kabah (the most famous structure at Kabah is the "Palace of the Masks", the façade decorated with hundreds of stone masks of the long-nosed rain god Chaac; it is also known as the Codz Poop, meaning "Rolled Matting", from the pattern of the stone mosaics. This massive repetition of a single set of elements is unusual in Maya art, and here is used to unique effect.), Labna (its notable structures is a large two-storey 'palace' ("El Palacio"), which is one of the longest contiguous structures in the Puuc region at approximately 120 in length. From the palace, a ceremonial road (sacbe) extends to an elaborately decorated gateway arch ("El Arco"). The arch is not an entrance to the city, but rather is a passageway between public areas.) Mayapan (the ceremonial center of the site is located in Square Q of the city's grid in the center of the wider western half of the walled enclosure. The ceremonial center has a tightly packed cluster of temples, colonnaded halls, oratories, shrines, sanctuaries, altars, and platforms (for oration, dancing, or stela display). Beautiful, well kept, friendly staffed hotel. I will be back with love always here!

Clean, comfortable rooms and wonderful friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend this hotel while visiting Uxmal. Take the plantation tour for an overview this wonderful property and learn what grows in this area. The Maya people are just lovely.

The hotel has a nice area with a pool. Rooms are clean and okay. Staff is friendly. Free parking is available. 5 min walk to the ruins. But the hacianda lost it's traditional style and the restaurant is totally overpriced. To call it also museum is ambitiously. The pool bar is not so nice. The concept is made for: visit to ruins, sleep one night and drive to your next destiny. So for one night okay - but nothing more.
