Dont stay at the GAMMA MERIDA, customer service does not exist. There are more hotels at the downtown area. With much better service. The people at the front desk are too young to understand the importance of the customer service concept, dont waist your happy time at this place
We had a room on the third floor which had been booked by our tour company, and we're pleased to find we had a unit with a large bedroom and also a separate lounge. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and we enjoyed our stay. The buffet breakfast was more than adequate.
Only stayed two nights, but room was very big, bed was big and comfy. Room was kind of oldish, but clean The staff was very professional and nice. It is close walking distance to Plaza Grande but unfortunately we didn't get there because my husband sprained his ankle. The staff was very gracious about getting ice for him. Breakfast buffet was huge and delicious. Lots of choices. Valet parking, which is great because parking can be a challenge in Merida. Also has a pool and gym but did not have a chance to use it. Would definitely stay again.
we stayed two nights and loved the location of the hotel and comfortable rooms. We had a very comfortable king size bed. The bathroom had a nice shower. do not expect too nice views but we did not car as we were always outside. the hotel is close to restaurants and shops. staff is very friendly
This hotel is a great place to stay when visiting Merida. It is blocks from the Plaza Grande and has a very nice and courteous staff and is very clean and comfortable. To make the most of the say I would suggest springing for the cost of breakfast at the hotel, the buffet is the largest I have ever seen at a hotel and has some phenomenal cuisine to chose from.
The Gamma de Fiesta is also simply known as Hotel Castellano in Merida. It is conveniently located just 3 blocks or so from Plaza Grande. There is always something going on in the main plaza, from folk dancing to block party at night on Sundays. So the location of this hotel is really convenient for checking out this part of Merida. There are also plenty of restaurants around. The hotel lobby was modern, nicely decorated and refreshingly air-conditioned. The hotel staff at the front desk, especially Mirley, was friendly and helpful. It was such a welcomed sight after we travelled all day by plane and ADO bus to get to Merida. The hotel room itself was a bit dated, and the AC was a bit too loud. But all in all, it was a friendly oasis in the hot, muggy weather as we explored the sights and sounds of old Merida within walking distance.
You will be very happy with the location of this hotel, the price of the room, and all the money you save and then get to spend eating out. If you don't eat out, it has a good restaurant and good room service. The hotel staff was very helpful and happy to assist you with your needs. The room was a little dated with the older style floor tile, but very clean and well maintained. Doormen happy to help you get a taxi or easy enough to flag one down yourself it you decide to walk somewhere downtown. The wife and myself would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to explore Merida.
Nice hotel, modern outside with a colonial taste in the rooms. Very good welcome offering a fresh drinks, much appreciated. Buffet breakfast with a huge offering but too expensive for people only looking for a continental breakfast. Good parking services.
Nice place. Very close to the square. Pool too with restaurant. We walked to Panchos for an amazing meal. There is a great place for breakfast a block away, too. Better than the hotel we stayed in the night before we left the Yucatán .
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small, but at least it was clean. We only stayed the one night. The breakfast was very expensive for what we recieved. But very convenient for us as we were going to our villa the morning.
