Ideally located in the heart of Melbourne close just to everything: china town, theatres, museums, shops, coffee places, river, this hotel has it all. Huge rooms nicely renovated, most comfortable immense bed, large shower and tasteful decorated. The hotel is under renovation but understandable. The Receptionists definitely need a refresher course, too rigid, not accommodating, generally not in a good mood ( with few exceptions). Same applies to concierge which is not capable of helping with suggestions for the city visit. Otherwise wonderful experience

Stayed here for business for one night and would return once the renovations are completely finished. My superior king room was newly renovated and very nice. Big comfortable bed although the pillows were small and uncomfortable. The bathroom was modern and clean and the rainfall shower was amazing! The hotel itself is incredibly chaotic! They are still doing renovations and I had to walk through a construction tunnel to get to the lifts. One lift was down so there was at least a 5 minute wait in peak times for another. I had breakfast in the restaurant and the food was great. The restaurant does lack some atmosphere though so I quickly left after eating. The front desk had a constant line of people. When I checked out I asked for a copy of my bill only to be told the printer was down and it would be emailed. I received nothing so contacted the hotel. I'm still waiting... This hotel is in the perfect spot if you are are coming to Melbourne to shop as it's right on the doorstep of Bourke Street Mall. Hopefully once the renovations are finished, this will be a great hotel!

For a hotel smack bang in the centre of the CBD you'd be hard pressed to find better value. Unfortunately there are currently significant renovations underway, which affected access and facilities, but the updated rooms were really nice. As an Accor silver member it was nice to be able to get a late checkout and drink to use at a nearby café. We were also able to have a cot provided for our baby. I wanted to put out a special thank you to Bobby at the bell desk for looking after our luggage and getting the car packed with some water for our 3 hour trip home.

Recently stayed for 1 night in a superior King room. The room was great, very clean and had a brilliant nights sleep. The hotel is being refurbished but with a minimum disruption to guests. The only negatives were 1) A breakfast wait staff was quite surly and not customer friendly. 2) The kitchen cannot cook poached eggs, 2 attempts and still not edible

Very disapointed there was no mention of renovations happening at the hotel (i know this is stanfdard practice) as this dampened our stay. Rooms are quite nice seeing as they are newly renovated, but beds are firm and pillows flat and lifeless. Breakfast needs improving - needs more variety, better quality food (Accor should be able to do better than this) and most importantly, more seating and a better layout. Breakfast was a mad mix of trying to get past people darting everywhere and hoping you got some food before it ran out. The pancake machine is a great idea, but need 2 at least to cope with demand as it takes a few mins to get your pancakes out, so there is always two or three people waiting. Great location for city centre and shopping and right next to Chinatown for dining.

Don't be put off by the fact that the main entrance has been closed off for major renovations and that the 'side' entrance is a bit cramped and has to deal with two (linked) hotels. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and once you have walked the short distance through an area masked off to hide building activity, the hotel is clean and spacious, the renovated rooms are excellent. Building noise did not intrude. And its hard to beat the location.

Had a nice stay even though hotel under construction yet all for the better. Had a nice upgraded recently renovated room. Friendly staff and a great position right on Swanston St surrounded by shops and many restaurants.

You can not go past this hotel for its location it is right next to the Emporium and China town, Bourke street mall is 2 mins walk easy 5 min walk to free city circle tram and Melbourne Central shopping centre, there is a taxi service at front door and also 3 min walk to pickup point for the Skybus service, if you like to be in the heart of the shopping and close to theatre's this is the place to stay, newly refurbished beautiful rooms with ongoing refurbishment going on it didn't deduct from the service at all.

The new rooms are fantastic, love the large TV. The staff a very friendly and helpful. Currently lacking certain facilities. Once the renervation is completed it will be amazing hotel in a great location.

Nice hotel was not impressed with transport offered from hotel to airport the driver was texting and driving told him twice to pay attention and he lied when clearly he was flicking from messages to gps. Overall hotel great location. Room was nice but needed more blankets waited 30min for one. Breakfast was nice but when asked for weak latte omg felt like triple shot of coffee got it remade and same gave up at the end. Paid for superior 2 queen beds paid for early check in as arrived at 7am asked at checkout if can have room til 4 going to charge me $80. Room was clean and lovely
