We have stayed here several times and always had a relaxing experience. The hotel is so peaceful you could believe that you are the only guest. The rooms are large and well appointed with every thing you might need. The staff are all very professional and they went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The hotel is in a quiet street but close to shops and restaurants in South Yarra and, should you want go into the CBD, trains and trams are within easy walking distance. We love staying here so much that we booked our next stay immediately after getting home from this one.
This lovely little property in Melbourne's chi chi South Yarra is warm, intimate and inviting... and the staff take customer service seriously. If you prefer your hotel accommodation to feel intimate, cosy and low-key but still luxurious, rather than shouty and grand, then this could well be the place for you.
Great location, great service ...but one of the staff came into our room uninvited whilst my partner was naked in the bathroom and saw it all. Very awkward moment and caused discomfort for reminder of stay.
I feel this hotel calls itself boutique due to its size and not the facilities it provides. Yes, it was aesthetically pleasing from the outside and service upon check in was friendly. We were given room 101 which we affectionately named the dungeon! It was clean but had no view, we looked at the apartments next door. The underfloor heating was intermittent and when we asked them to split one of the king rooms into two singles they did so in the smallest room which meant there was little to no room for two adults to move around in. In room entertainment was terrible, we wanted to watch a dvd and after what felt like a scene from faulty towers, we eventually got there (2 dvd players later, one which still had a vcr component). Due to the 1 hr debacle the staff were kind enough to offer complimentary breakfast, we were thankful for that. Hopefully the hotel look at providing movies on demand like many other high end boutique hotels! We did visit the day spa and it was nice but rooms are noisy and I couldn't relax with the ppl talking in the next room. Would we stay here again, I don't think so, not with the many other choices available at the same price.
The hotel is ok. Style of a boutique hotel . Rooms have gods space .staying is ok if you need to spend few days as they have also a small kitchen. Is not close to the center so if you are a tourist better a place close to the city center .
Perfect girls 3 day weekend. This place is cozy, beautiful, and welcoming. I could live in the 2 bedroom suites. The staff are so friendly. The breakfast was great. We didn't try any spa treatments with our luxury escape package but maybe next time.
We booked three nights at the hotel via Luxury Escapes. The front desk service and breakfast were excellent and we were given good standard wine for our welcome drinks (part of the package). However we were initially given a room that has a broken safe and the carpet as well as furniture were quite worn! They were good enough to change the room to a different one with a working safe and better condition furnishings. The other thing to be aware of is that there is construction happening next door so it is quite noisy during the weekday. We have requested when booking quite a few months ahead for a room on the other side but this was not provided. Could be that we have booked through Luxury Escapes with their special rates, so we were given a room at the less pleasant side! All in all, it was a nice stay!
Visiting from country Victoria for my wife's birthday and delighted to stay in such a fabulous hotel. Staff genuinely friendly and helpful. I very seldom give any place five stars but this is a no-brainer. They even had a couple of lemons on the table in case you wanted a little twist with your evening gun and tonic!
Five star service, provided us free Myki cards daily to get around. Friendly recommendations for dinner and shopping. Hotel rooms very comfortable and well appointed. Very Art Deco styling and breakfast was amazing daily, in a group of seven they accommodated seating for us by the fire!! Definitely will return and very close to railway.
Stayed only one night. Came to Melbourne to combine a get away with business dinner. This hotel reminded me of a typical European family hotel.... So friendly! Staff and location were the best..... I met the owner and what a charming person.... Would sit down with him for a chat anytime. Well done!
