The location was perfect. I was on that horrible flight from Wellington that gets in at 8am and into town about 9.30/10am. The hotel was happy to take my bag until check in at 3pm although I was able to check in about 1.30pm which helped me a lot.
Smallish room with good king size bed and desk space as well as ok shower room. Reception is more of a bar area, so depends if this is your thing, but staff is friendly and checkin process efficient. Best thing is probably location as within walking distance of everything
Love staying in this hotel, although it is very basic Hilton Double it has comfy bed. Even the suites are very small. But the staff makes a big difference. I always comeback to this hotel when in Melbourne.
A cleaner burst into our room unannounced and turned the light on. We were in bed watching a movie in the middle of the day and were totally shocked. Then when we checked out a cleaner commented that our room was in a terrible state. We made every effort to leave the room tidy and acceptable and cleaned everything. A great couple of days ruined by staff. Won’t be back.
Our view was 8 aircons Our King sign bed was just two beds pushed together. The cleaner just walked into our room while we were in bed on our first morning there. She flicked the lights on and asked if we wanted our room cleaned. Obviously not as we were in there in bed. The next day at Checkout I forget something and returned to our room. The same cleaner said what a mess, when I confronted her about it she said because we broke a glass that we cleaned up. Our room was tidy, towels all together trash by the front door, dishes all togethers as always. Breakfast was still in the room stacked neatly. For 205 a night i wouldn't bother with this place at all. Been waiting 30 mins for management to work out what they are going to do. From a person in customer service I'm disgusted by this situation and furious.
This is a really nice hotel. I think the assistant manager checked us in and he was so helpful, friendly and very guest oriented. The rooms were spotless and in great condition. The location is excellent, its only a short walk to Southgate and its opposite Flinders street. There is parking for a fee at a nearby parking garage but the hotel will validate for a discounted rate. We were very happy with our stay.
I stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning and end of my trip to Australia. The rooms here are clean and comfortable, though some of them seem a little oddly laid out. We got upgraded as a diamond member to a Flinders street view for the end of our trip. The view was great at night, but there was construction going on outside the hotel past midnight. I know it's not the fault of the hotel, but it might impact your stay. There is no lounge, but we got free drink tickets, so we enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar before going out in the evening. They will let you check into your room early if it's available, but there's a fee for early check in.
Worst experience ever stayed at Hilton properties. Booked a king bed room 2 nights (1 reward night) before I left MEL. It turned out that the king bed was disguised by 2 twin sized bed. Even worse, the room had no windows. I did not expect that much since it was just a stay before I went catch the flight, but it drove me nuts and I had to go downstairs and ask for an upgrade as a gold member. The front desk turned down my request due to limited availability, which I highly doubted.
Stayed in this property in excess of 20 times and the service and facilities are always great but…. As a Diamond HH member, the upgrades are getting fewer and fewer and now I just get the standard room I booked – or appears that way anyway. I stay just about every month so will see what happens on the next trip. :)
1.No room upgrades when I arrive at the hotel but when I check from website best rooms still available, Front desk staff offer me high floor with good views on tenth floors but it a bad view that block by other building. That is very disappointing for Loyalty Diamonds member. 2. I stay 3 nights with the same buffet line every day. 3. Every time when I walk through Front desk no welcome words or reaction, It like no one stays here. 4.No lounge at this property, I got 2 drinks voucher per nights, that I can use at a Lobby lounge but It can redeem only House wine, House beers (2-3 choices), I think It does not make sense. 5.Just good location (CBD)
