Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Pros:
Location - in the heart of the CBD
Courteous staff
Clean with modern fittings
Good price for the location
Cons:
Location - beggars and drunk people hanging out in the area. We were harassed in the hotel lobby by a drunk man. Staff did sort him out.
Rooms - are essentially fitted out concrete boxes. They feel very sterile and unwelcoming, almost like a cell. The use of fluro lighting does not help.
For the price and location, it is fine if you are just looking for a place to sleep. I personally would not want to stay here more than a night if I was planning on spending any length of time hanging out in the room.
On the plus side great breakfast.
Set up in reception odd. 2 people working in a tight area, when another kiosk was on the otherside & not enough room for guests to both talk to staff at the same time & couldn't hear from guest also speaking at the same time. Staff seem to have no idea what was going on when we were checking in, thought we were checking out. Then more confusion when checking out & leaving bags for the day.
Small issue but had to ask for toilet rolls, usually there is an adequate supply for the length of stay in the case 1 was not enough when staying for more than 1 night.
Group stay for a support group for a rare brain disorder. Gathering our volunteer committee from all over Australia for workshopping.
The staff were exceptional. The ideology of the Hotel with their programs to support people are also to be commended.
Our group really enjoyed our stay and the use of the small conference room for our meeting. We will definitely return.
Room clean on arrival. Staff generally helpful.
No rrom cleaned/ tidied during our stay. Rubbish not removed, except by us, no bathroom cleaning/ linen and towels changed.
When I tried to check in just before 2pm, the counter said I have to pay $20 to check in before 2pm. I was only 15 minutes before check in. I later check-in in after 4.30pm after late lunch. I paid the hotel early and is this the service that I get to pay for checking in slightly early. I have stay at this place frequently and also recommended my friends at this hotel. Ver disgraceful behaviour on this holiday season.

Check in was not as smooth as it normally is. I was offered a room upgrade a few days prior to arrival at $6 per night, which I applied for. At check in, I mentioned about the upgrade application and the receptionist first stated that the upgrade is $25 per night. I told them the price in the offer. They tapped away on the computer and then came back with a price of $8 per night. I declined this and stated that the offer was $6 per night and started going through my emails to show them. They then made it $6 per night and then we proceeded with completing check in.
