Required a hotel in the area for overnight and this was ideal. Reception staff very well organized and explained everything. Room whilst not big was ideal for the night. TV coffee etc. on site mini meals were offered. Bed very comfortable and quiet all night. Breakfast was included and was excellent , hot meal on offer. No hesitation stopping here again.

Stayed here after our flight for one night. We received a warm welcome on arrival Our room was on floor 8 and overlooked the room below. Having stayed in a number of IBIS hotel overseas, this was not quite the typical IBIS hotel. The room contained tea and coffee facilities, a fridge and was quite spacious with a bath in the bath room and individual toiletries for use. The bed and bedding was very good and comfortable. The location is excellent only 200 meters from Southern Cross Station and in a quiet area of town. It is only a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

The hotel certainly shows its age, but the staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. It is quite centrally located, and is near all of Melbournes excellent public transport including its iconic trams. If you are in Melbourne for a short visit, and not needing luxury, this is the place for you.

This hotel was my pick for a quick work trip, as it was inexpensive (only in the room to sleep) and close to Southern Cross and the office. Room was clean and tidy with an aircon system you could actually adjust to suit your preference (so I could have the room not stuffily hot). Only downside is this hotel has not yet moved to the free wifi revolution so you have to buy an internet pack (or use your phones data).

These sorts of properties are very hard to categorize (in an overall rating perspective). This Ibis is a very very friendly property that is located centrally and extremely close to the public link transport systems (Train, Bus and Tram). The rooms and bathrooms are clean, tidy and sized as you would expect from this era of build. The TV is a small flatscreen of average quality however I spent most of my time on the laptop. The Wi-Fi service is excellent ! The hotel has a small cafe available for the typical hot buffet breakfast and whilst it's not gourmet, it is all you can eat and the food is fresh. There are numerous cafe's and restaurants nearby if that doesn't take your fancy. My only 'complaint' was that there really isn't a comfortable place to relax outside of your room - we solved this by walking around the corner to a cafe to relax and play some chess. Would I stay there again, absolutely - it's very reasonably priced, close to everything and has a friendly team.

The hotel suited mine and my son's needs as we were only there for a couple of nights to visit his friend who goes to the university there. I love that it is close to a lot of shops and restaurant, and a couple of blocks away from the train/bus station. About 101-15 minutes away from all the sights and the city center. Our room was dark inside as we have a window facing another building. But we didn't mind because we were only there for a short time and was out most of the time. Melbourne is a very pretty city. If I ever go back, I wouldn't mind staying at this hotel again.

A great place to stay in Melbourne central to most things 5 min walk from southern cross rail way,,, 15 min to casino...best of all breakfast is not a extra . restaurants all close and plenty to choose from.. well worth to night stay...

Stayed on ninth floor. room very clean and maintained . Location close to transport hub, (busses and Train) close to City free tram. Staff very friendly. Parking available at $20/day discount rate within 400 metres. Only negative was the shower water temp varied from Hot to cold at times.

This hotel is starting to show its age but for me i wanted the location less than 5 min walk to the Skybus terminal at Spencer St. The check in was rather busy when I arrived but was the check in was swift . the room I was allocated was a good size for an Ibis the room was oh just dated but clean comfortable the room does not have a in room safe deposit box. the Bathroom was a bit small but no problem but the shower is over the bath which may prove a problem for less mobile folk but there is a math mat and hand rail i think when an update of the hotel is done that they have a hand held shower for easy use. The staff were friendly I was a bit concerned that of a night it may be noisy but I slept well. It all comes down to what one really needs the location the price were great Will stay there again.

We had a 3 night stay with another 2 couples We found it Reasonably priced. The location was great close to tram stops and reception happy to organise cabs. Room was clean shower was good. Staff were great. Definitely stay here again.
