Friendly and professional staff. Very modern hotel. Rooms are very clean. Highly recommend!!

Food is awesome, room is clean and look nice. Also the staff is great and helpful

The hotel was very nice, well priced, beautiful decor and modern. Staff was also very polite and free buffet breakfast. My window faced beautiful mountains and the location was close to major plazas. Great robes in room. The food was just ok for breakfast but it is all left open on the patio with flies all around. My other issue was the wifi.. It's a little confusing to log in (turns out u have to initiate it on wifi for the first time). Once I did get it logged in the next day (two of the employees came up to my room and weren't able to), it was really glitchy and didn't work right. For an international traveler this can be a pain due to overage charges from cellphones. Other hotels in Colombia had perfectly functioning wifi and it wasn't working for any of our cellphones or laptop.

This is a great hotel , great staff , very friendly

friendly staff, big pool and hot tubs. nice big clean room. air conditioner worked great. breakfast was good.

Good, not quite great, service was excellent, food good, rooms large, but AC is incredibly loud. Soap and shampoo could be nicer.

Hotel has great location, walking distance (1500 ft) to two big malls with all the amenities restaurants, shops and nighclubs. Also conviniently located to the metro and parque lleras. Staff was very attentive, very clean and confortable rooms. Very recomendable, would repeat if visiting medellin again.

Rooms and views are great, but the beds are hard. Location is great! I ordered breakfast in the room with coffee and they only brought me milk and later than I had requested it.

I loved this hotel. The gym was fantastic as were the breakfasts. The only problem was that nobody ever came to clean our room - I don't know why but it didnt bother me that much. The hotel is really really nice - they actually have like this happy hour from 6-7 which is real nice where they open up the garden. I just felt that the hotel could do more with setting up certain tours. They have some outside company in the front there but the prices were way overblown. All in all though, this was a great place to stay and a great value. Real close to a shopping mall and Parque Lleras. Def recommend it

It is in the SantaFe area. One block away for a super large mall. this hotel is in a very safe area so walking is no problem. Also close to Parque Lleras which is a meca for night life and restrauants. The hotel is extremely clean and comfortable. The staff are great. The breakfast buffet which is normally included in the cost of the room is outstanding. Fresh fruits, eggs made to order, juices and coffee. Very American style.

This hotel is situated in the El Poblado neighborhood of Medellin, and is a quick 5-10 minute cab ride to Parque Lleras, a great place to hang out and see a mix of locals and foreigners. The hotel itself is really avant garde in terms of design and layout. There is modern artwork around the lobby of super heroes in paint. The front desk staff is nice and welcoming and there's a fairly decent bar in the lobby. Views from this spot in El Poblado are fantastic, so definitely ask for a room higher up and facing down the hillside toward the city. There are two large malls nearby, Santa Fe and Rio Sur. The downsides of staying at Medellin Royal are as follows: 1) Cleaning staff *does not* respect the "do not disturb" placards guests can put on the door. I had not once, but twice, the cleaning staff barged into my room. Once I was there and it woke me up with a start, and the other time they went in and cleaned although I did not want them to and had sensitive items out in the room, which they moved around, much to my displeasure. 2) Prices of services and hotel fees. I booked here and the confirmation said that only a ten percent tax was due at the hotel. In addition to this the hotel tried to charge me "insurance". Insurance for what? Health, emergencies, yadda yadda. I refused to pay and they took it off, but beware, they will try to stick you with extra charges (this wasn't the only hotel playing this game). Also, if you book the car service from the hotel, make sure that you have the costs IN WRITING before leaving the hotel. I had one hotel employee tell me that a driver for the day would be XX amount. After I returned they tried to charge me over three times the amount. After much struggle and negotation, it was knocked down to two times, which is still quite a bit over what I was quoted. The car service works out of the hotel, but is a separate business. In all I like the hotel and would probably stay there again if they fix the issue with the housekeeping disrespecting the 'do not disturb' sign. It has a convenient location, helpful staff and is modern and fairly comfortable.

got to the hotel late at nite after being totally ripped off by the airport cab[ dont get into the minivans, 9 people paying full price] the hotel lobby is nice and the staff is execptional the rooms are spartan and the furniture needs a decorators touch. seemed to have been furnished by office depot. breakfast buffet 2 pans of soupy scrambled eggs with ham, assorted juices and breads. nothing else. checked out immediately, with help of staff and switched hotels

Great in every aspect, I would definitely visit this hotel again. Great service.

Very comfortable. An easy walk to the "golden mile" including lots of shopping, restaurants, etc. Very friendly staff. A great breakfast buffet was the perfect way to start the day.

We can only tell you that this Hotel Medellin Royal is the best in Medellin. In the center of El Poblado 10 minutes away from everything by taxi.Wich by the way they have their own un- mark taxis for the same price as the regular yellow cars.

great hotel, friendly staff, rooms are big, clean, beds very comfortable, amazing breakfast buffet, pool area very nice, while it's not in the center of Medellin (it's in El Poblado) it's still an easy cab ride away from everything, 1 block from a mall where you can find everything (pharmacy, food, ATM's, etc)....overall a great place to stay in Medellin

The Medelllin Royal Hotel is a marvelous place to stay. The buffet breakfast (often included in room rate) is among the best I have enjoyed. Great bar, ecellent lunch and dinenr restaurant too. And the staff is always freindly and efficient in providing guest services - and many speak English too. Good security also- even need to use your room key to use elevators to go to any floor from lobby. And each room has a safe for keeping valuables, with the guest being able to set the code #. Located in safer, better Poblado business barrio of Medelllin. And great views of the city from the rooms...which must be at least 40% larger than typical "regular" hotel rooms anywhere. Shower is a unique, well designed semi-open shower stall, with one of those big round shower heads to get a great flow of water...and always plenty of hot water too. Free high speed Internet WiFi works very well. The hotel even maintains 3 or 4 private cars for guests to use instead of taxis, for a more comfortable ride - for which the fees are only a little more than a tzxi would charge. It is only 3 blocks from the huge and modern 4 story Oviedo shopping mall with endless shops and restaurants (huge food court and separate higher quality food court), and multiplex theaters. During the first 10 days of August, Medelllin celebrates its Annual Feria de Las Flores - which is a list fo 200+ events of all kinds - all relating to the georgeous flowers Colombia grows. One key event is the parade of the Sillaterros - a mini-Pasadena Rose Parade that is most unique. And their huge Boranical Gardens close for a week before the Feria, so as to allow exhibitors to set up the most incredible, elaborate displays of plans and live flowers in garden-like settings, alogn with hundreds of exotic parrots. There are maybe 100 such exhibits, all judged (as in a "state fair") with ribbon awards. I took over 200 photos of the most beautiful orchids, roses, halyconia, and many many more of the most beautiful flowers you will ever see. There is a parade of antique cars, concerts, plays, art exhibits and much more during the 10 days of the Feria. The Feria alone is worth visiting Medelllin. After staying at a Sheraton hotel nearby 2x before, I found the Medelllin Royal Hotel to be far better, and I plan to stay here on my next trip to Medelllin.

great hotel, just minutes from the mall. staff went above and beyond. I would recomend this hotel to anyone traveling to Medellin
