We stayed for a couple nights. It was very comfortable. Nice room and great service!! The view from window was enormous. I heard about the crime against foreigners in Medan. They had a 4 hour security system and team before entering the hotel. That was great and very impressive especially in the city center. They have great restaurant, especially Marriott Cafe! I love the food event, Thai Food Fair. A famous chef from Thailand created his authentic Thai dish. They are super! We really loved it! Everything was excellent!
Stayed here for 3 nights and I had a pleasant stay. Compared to JW Marriott Surabaya and JW Marriott Jakarta, JW Marriott Medan is much better. The room was spacious and neat, also the ammenities were complete. Breakfast menus were various and most of them were delicious (but I suggest to enhance the taste of the pastries, since they tasted plain). My fav drink here is Bandrek. They also had outdoor tables, which is cozy and comfy. The receptionist was friendly and did her job quick and accurate. The concierge team was also helpful and managed my luggages very well. Their F&B team was also skillfull and agile. The only thing that made me worry was the elevator (the first from the lobby), because it shook when it got down and I felt like it will crashed down. I think they need to add more elevator card scanner? They only have one at the right in each elevator. Swimming pool was not too fascinating, I think adding some plants/trees/flowers will make it better.
From the beginning to the end of our stay the staff at the Marriott were wonderful. Extremely attentive, kind and very happy. We had lots of great interactions and that is what made our stay so good. Welly the porter, Kristina and Sakur the masseurs, Maria at reception, Erwin, Yuswido, Ridho from the restaurant, Panca from the bar to name a few. You all work very hard and we are grateful.
Spacious and Comfortable. Service was tip-top, facilities (gym and pool) were well maintained. The only comment for improvement is the selection of room service meals, but otherwise it was a good stay.
When I hear Marriott, I would expect an excellent stay at the branded hotel. However, I had a bad experience when staying at this hotel. The shower drain is higher than the floor level hence it flooded every time i took a shower. It is a really bad design. The good thing is they offer a wealth range of breakfast menu from asian to american cuisine. The breakfast is served at their big conference room and all sides of the room is full of menu.
Rooms & facility provided are very good. The foods are delicious and staff in restaurant are friendly & helpful. The only things that need to improve is service of front desk doing the check in procedure. We booked 6 rooms, and started check in on 4pm.. we can only get 1 room available at the time we checked in, understand that hotel may need time for clean the rooms. The advisor from front desk is we can get the rooms after 30mins... we fully checked in for 6 rooms at 7pm. This is bad.
I have mixed review on this hotel. The banquet, gym and housekeeping staffs treated me respectfully. I love the variety and the taste of breakfast. Location is great. However, the front desk officer did not impress me well. The one that I talked to was not as friendly as 5 star hotel front desk officers usually are. The other officer who helped my friend checking in did not carefully read the hotel voucher and had misunderstanding. Overall I am satisfied and I still recommend people to stay here.
Nice hotel, room was clean and comfort. I stay for three night with my business partner. We all feel comfortable since their staff very kind and friendly. Highly recommended if you plan to visit Medan.
Stayed here for 3nights in corner deluxe room 2640 on 31/7-3/8 It was the most luxury properties in Medan, however rather disappointed with the following issue. 1. Housekeeping called my room in the middle of the night 12.30am, when DND is already turned on. 2. Poor maintenance, causing the deck phone speaker to be automatically turned on at 2.15am and 2.30am respectively. When I complained to the front desk manager Mr. Jaka and Mr. Denki (night). Both have promised to come back to me ASAP, but nothing was done. Also when I ask for them thru other staff, they just said they are not available, and seems like they choose to hide and try to avoid me. 3. When I asked for compensation of the issue 30k Marriott points equivalent for the room I book, as the property is full occupancy and unable to upgrade me to suites, again they went missing and kept insisting above their pay grade to do so, and never get back to me. 4. The pool is ridiculously too many people, and I heard they allow outsiders to come in into the pool with a certain fee, which is fine, if the hotel is not on peak season, but during peak season it's madness, not to forget that there is no pool attendance, so people with full clothes can just jump into the pool. 5. Room is not properly cleaned during my stay as pictured attached with the dirt. Overall this is a nice and luxury hotel, but their management is pure joke in handling customer, and hotel management.
One night stay in a hectic and bustling city of Medan, this hotel is a convenient refuge that offers excellent room to properly rest and relax after a long road journey from Lake Toba. Friendly staffs at the check in counter provided a smooth process to settle down our stay. The Deluxe room is spacious with quality bedding provide a comfort sleep. International breakfast serves a Marriott Cafe provides a wide spread of choices and quality taste. Also, Prime Steakhouse & Bar serves a distinct meal and quality wine for dinner. Definitely worth to stay at Marriott again if I would return to Medan next time.
