This was my 2nd visit. The staffs were all wonderful! Very helpful and always tried to do the best to make you feel welcome. As a Gold member, I felt recognized. Thank you for my room upgrade. The view from my room was fantastic! Tried the gym facilities this time, which was quote OK. The breakfast was better since the last time I visited. Two thumbs up for the very good people! The 2nd time was another pleasant stay!
This hotel has great staff who really want to make sure you are taken care, but the state of the property is a bit tired and needs some TLC. The morning breakfast each morning of our 3 night stay was the highlight for me. I would go there again in the future just for the food. The amenities were nice, such as the gym and the pool. Great city views from the pool area, and table tennis as well on the gym floor - which the family made full use of. We were there for a wedding on the property and the banquet hall was of usual size for the big receptions they hold there. I was a bit disappointed with the service though, as it was evident that there wasn't much structure among the staff. They could use to buy some new table and seat cloths as they were stained.
Please be sure you check in not too late night if you want to get your bed preference request. Good & comfortable bed & pillow. Good breakfast. Good location. The staff was nice but the check in counter too slow.
After 4 days in the highlands we were looking forward to our stay at JW Marriott. But it was a huge disappointment. The check in staff was very unfriendly which is no excuse even if we did arrive in our outdoor garb. The ground floor toilet near the cafe was dirty and there was no toilet paper plus a bucket with a mop was left inside the toilet (no there was no sign advising it was being cleaned). When we sat at the cafe mosquitoes bit me. This place is a disgrace to JW Marriott’s stellar reputation. Only 1 glimmer of good in this stay - Gino the concierge staff was super friendly and very helpful.
Business trip in Medan, at least I did once a year but I think my last stay at JW Marriot couple years ago... and I did not realize the TV is huge as now... In term of service... the quality is still.the same... great service, from front office, room service, housekeeping, concierge and etc... Breakfast, yes a lot option compare with other hotels in Medan.. I think still the best in town..
My first stay in JW Marriott Medan. I redeem the room with points to experience first hand since I have not stay in JW Marriott in Medan even though I have been to Medan couple of times. The security to the hotel is tight which is good as you get a 'safe' feeling. The hotel lobby is spacious and do not provide a lounge area for people to wait for friends or just to relax. There is a lounge area but its more as a lobby lounge where you may need to order drinks or so. The swimming pool is located at a higher floor where you can have a nice view looking over city of Medan. Its like a semi rooftop type. The gym is fully equip and in the same floor as the pool. The room is nice and the new trend is that the room will have a see through view to the toilet. You can have the blind down if you want privacy while taking a shower or doing your business.. The room is nicely lighted and clean and comfortable. Only trouble that I have was the 'rain shower' as it was not maintain properly where it splashes water out of its shower area. The staffs there were freindly and willing to help. There is even a shuttle bus from the hotel to Central Point. The location is quite centralized and its near to the train station and couple of malls. Overall the stay experience was nice and the hotel was gracious enough to extend my check-out as I have a late evening flight. Greatly recommended irregardless whether you are there for business or holiday
Big hotel with tight security. Excellent service even the jade restaurant provide food delivery to your hotel room coz I was down with fever . Breakfast was good with variety of choices. Nearby hotel have convenience store , food court and nelayan restaurant was nearby.
I've spend around 50 nights this in hotels around the US, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and Indonesia, and this was hands down the best experience by far. The staff were perfectly attentive, but not too much and their hospitality training must be world class. From getting a tour of the features of our room by the porter, to the receptionist that remembered out flight details the next morning (they must have recorded it on file, which was a very nice touch) to the amazing breakfast spread with Indian, Thai, Japanese and Indonesian food. Wonderful experience, and I can't wait to go back
Beautiful hotel with a grand staircase, but what makes his hotel so special is the staff. Everyone we encountered from the front desk, to the chef at the cafe, to the hostesses at the restaurants, to the baggage handlers and cleaning staff was extremely gracious, friendly, attentive and welcoming. All took the time to smile and say hello. Unparalleled service!
It's my first time here , good location in central of Medan Food in room service is good And hotel stuffs are friendly and helpful I think it s good to take Train from airport to the hotel , or call a car service From hotel since in Indonesia,
