Older building and our unit was older, but it had everything we needed for our 2 week stay. Great pool for when you wanted a quick dip or break from the sand at the beach. Kam 3 is right across the street. Property is well maintained. Close to restaurants and ABC store. Have to drive for groceries at Foodland. Our unit had a key tag for Foodland to get the discounted prices on groceries.
We wanted a unit close to the beach and not too pricey. We loved the location, you do have road noise but the proximity to such a nice beach was worth it. My teens loved the unit. The pictures did make it look more updated than it was in reality, carpet and some details need updating! We found the unit very clean though and the building was very well maintained. We enjoyed our stay.
We booked 1 year in advanced with a company called Rentals Maui. Knowing it was high season and it was our honeymoon we wanted something nice. Originally we had booked at Menehune Shores a very beautiful unit. A bit pricey but we were happy with our decision. Until the rental company called me back a few months before we had to leave. Sorry we don't have that unit it but we have Maui Parkshores 215. Its much better I looked at the pics called back but my hands were tied as everything was booked in Maui. This place was dirty and the shower looked like it had not been cleaned in months. The place is out dated phone was broken iron didn't work. The list goes on and on. We felt like we were in a n old folks home. Called the rental company they said sorry everything is booked ill send the maid. This does not cut it for 225 US never stay here or use Rentals Maui. The other units looked renovated and nice from the outside.
Maui Parkshores was quiet, well managed condo bldg. but location on South Kihei Rd across from Kam 3 park is always busy and sometimes noisy from motorcycles. Also recommend confirming how recently unit was renovated as ours was very "TIRED and needed some serious cleaning" even though photos on rental site made it look shiny & new. Basically a disappointment. (rented Jan.1-30/17- Maui Condo & Homes - positive experience)
My family (sisters family of 5, parents and my family of 5) stayed at the Maui Parkshore over the Christmas season. We rented 3 units, we stayed in unit 302. This unit has been renovated and in my opinion was the nicest of the 3 rooms we had. Other units were 401 and 409. 302 is nicely set up for 4 while we had our oldest child stay with my parents. Room has all you need in the kitchen, could use better cutting knives if I was fussy. Washer and dryer are small but we managed to survive. The unit could use new beach towels as must of them were pretty ratty. I did get a new one and left it there for the next renter. Washrooms/Showers are clean and fresh. Always had hot water. The beds are a little too soft for my liking, the extra foam on top of the soft mattress didn't help. For those that like plush it's probably great, I'd prefer a firmer mattress. Morning sun was perfect on the deck for breakfast. We never missed a chance to do that. Beach is conveniently across the street with half decent snorkelling too. Flat sand skim boarding is perfect here too. Boogie boarding is great for the kids and just big enough for the adults too. Many turtles seen daily with the odd whale breaching in the distance. Overall I'd probably come back.
If you want to hang out on vacation where everyone sticks their nose into your business, this is the place.Horrible forever changing management, If it's your desire to hang out in a 70's looking condo that is in desperate need of a makeover, You've found the right place. Again, plan on having the long-term residents stick their noses into you vacation.
We love staying in Kihei, it's such a laid back little beach community. Maui Parkshore is in a great location across the street from Kam III. Nice size condo and the lanai was wonderful for the sunsets. Only downside was no air conditioning in August. If the breeze is coming the right direction it blows into the condo for some relief. Several days it was blowing across and it was pretty hot in the unit. Other than that, a wonderful stay in this 2br unit.
We were there for nine days in December 2015. It is a nice 2 bdrm, 2 ba unit and so well stocked. We were amazed. There is an elevator and an assigned parking space. It was a nice jaunt from car to elevator and then to condo...it is directly across from Kam ll and within walking distance (if you can walk a bit)...there is no air conditioning, we left the double slider and front door open and it was very comfortable. We have stayed at many condos in Kihei and this among the top 3. Wifi connection was old and warned on my computer that was not protected. We were afraid to use on non secure sites.
Excellent, very nice and comfortable apartment, full equipped with all you need. Good location, easy accesible by car, short walking distance to the beach over the road and to near shops. I'd definitively recommend it to anyone!
Here are my pros and cons for Maui Parkshore. Pros: -Directly across the street from the beach. -Within walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars. -The place was very clean. -Free Wifi. -Nice kitchen, living room and bedrooms. -Nice modern furniture. -Start pack included - toilet paper, coffee, detergent. -The place can be booked online and paid for online. No need to send a request to the owner and tell them your life story. -Key pad entry! No need to carry around an extra set of keys. -Within 10 miles from the airport and Kahalui, Lahaina. -Within 10 miles from other beautiful beaches. Cons: -No air conditioning. However, the weather cools at night. -There are a lot of trees behind the condo, which attracts a lot of birds. The birds fight and squawk all night. -Our unit had a tiny, stackable washer and dyer. It couldn't handle more than three towels. -Since this condo is right next to a busy street, traffic tends to be loud.
