We loved this riad! It is in a great location although you do need to have some sense of direction. The riad is beautifully decorated, the rooms are nice and clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was only ok, but everything else was above expectation. I would highly recommend to friends and family visiting Marrakech!
Dar Justo Riad is a hidden gem in the medina of Marrakech. In case you didn’t know, a riad is a traditional Moroccan house or palace with an interior garden or courtyard divided into quarters with a central fountain. This house was converted into a beautiful hotel, decorated with very good taste, with many cozy spaces where you can read and enjoy your favorite drink. There are shelves with many books in the common areas. It has a terrace where you can see the Koutoubia mosque, which is illuminated at night. You can also see the snow-capped Atlas mountains. You can also hear the call to pray from the nearby mosque. For us it was a kind of call to meditate. Every single detail of the hotel is for your rest and enjoyment. Riad rooms not only have a number but also a name of a famous artist as a tribute. The room was spotless and really comfortable. Breakfast was really good, too, and was included. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful, and they immediately made us feel welcome. In Dar Justo Riad you will feel like a real pasha.
My husband and I arrived Marrakech for a 10 day tour with Morocco Discovery Holidays. We were booked into Dar Justo for our first 2 nights, tomorrow we head off on the additional days of our tour. We are always wary of tour booked accommodations, Dar Justo far exceeded our expectations. Its a very beautiful, peaceful Riad located in the Medina, a haven from the hustle and bustle. We arrived from Spain, it was wonderful to sit on the roof top terrace and have wine and a light dinner, all perfectly served by Hecham (apologize if spelling is incorrect). The room was beautiful, a nice ceiling fan to keep air flowing and lovely bed and linens. Today we did the first day of our tour in Marrakech, lots of walking and an overwhelming amount of sights and smells to see. What a welcome relief to return to Dar Justo Riad and again enjoy a light meal with drinks on the upper terrace. Thankfully Hecham once again served us, he is awesome. Tonight he recommended we have the Pastilla (chicken and almond pastry) for our light meal - it was too die for. We will be back for 2 nights to Dar Justo at the end of our holiday tour, cannot wait. We will book the hammam on one of those nights and certainly enjoy the food. Dar Justo we learned is owned by a Spanish artist, his photos adorn the walls, they are fabulous. Front desk are also awesome, everyone has been very welcoming. Better than 5 star in our opinion.
We ending up staying at Dar Justo by mistake as my original Riad had double booked myself and my two teens and had no room for us, putting us instead in an awful, dirty "friend's" Riad for the night. The following morning after no sleep, I went online and found Dar Justo which happened to be nearby and walked over there to see if they had a room. Luckily they did and it was heaven compared to our initial accommodation. We were able to leave our bags there until our room was ready in the afternoon, which was appreciated. The rooms were clean, with decent bathrooms and the most comfortable beds. After a small issue with a blocked shower drain all was working perfectly. There was no mini bar but they did provide large bottles of water every day and toiletries in the bathroom. Towels were clean and soft. The rooftop and terraces are the most relaxing place to spend your time after haggling in the Souk and myself and the kids happily spent a few hours up there playing cards and reading whilst making friends with the odd stray cat (these seem to leap from rooftop to rooftop and are a feature of Marrakech). we didn't spend time in the small pool but it would be refreshing in the heat of summer Im sure. The breakfast was simple yet delicious and the mint tea was the best we had in Marrakech. We also had dinner one night on the terrace and again , the food was fresh and very tasty. The staff we encountered were all polite and helpful and any request was followed up on quickly. Location-wise you need to navigate a few dark narrow alleyways but we had no problems getting there day or night. The stray cats in the maze of streets just added to the atmosphere. I am reluctant to write this review as I want to keep this hidden gem to myself but they helped my out of a very uncomfortable situation and Im only happy to send some people their way. I'll be booking again next time Im in Marrakech!
I really recommend this Riad. Good value for money and suuuuper beautiful oasis in the middle of the Médina, it was was walking distance to everything. Positive + Moroccan welcome the at arrival + Breakfast on the rooftop (Same things every day but super fresh and tasty) + Wonderful and friendly staff, especially Medhi that works in the restaurant!! + Soft beds + Good and clean bathrooms + It looks like the picture (no scam in what you get as in many other hotels) +Beautiful flowers and pool + Nice and fresh spa, we tried the Hammam and it was nice. Try the Local Mouassine Hammam around the corner for a cheaper and more “local and real experience” which cost 150 Dh instead of the hotels 300 Dh. Negative - Most staff speaks english but it help to know french - The pool is not heated up (read super cold as in like 14 degrees) - Good to know is that you pay a proximity 25 Dirham a person for every night you stay in taxes. Which is for every hotel I guess. Overall super nice and I would definitely come back!
It’s our second time in Dar Justo and it’s been again a good experience. Location at the heart of the Medina is nice, but bear in mind that the taxis leave you 10 minutes walk away from the hotel doorstep, even though there are always plenty of carriers around. The premises are awesome, around three beautiful patios that can be a bit noisy though. Our room was on the ground floor and it was a bit dark (note that the riads are all a bit dark) but still charming, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is sufficient but by far the worst part of our stay.
If you want a traditional, friendly and ideally located hotel look no further. The receptionist was amazing. She helped arrange tours and meals for our party of 10. She amazingly tracked down a bag of purchases that I left on a horse and carriage. Absolutely fantastic. All of the other staff were so polite and friendly also. We were made to feel important and very welcome. I will be back.
I think the caption resumes it all. There was insects in the room the first night, and the second night water pouring down from the ceiling directly in our bed. When discussed with Management, they called it “an act of god”. Clearly not the right standard for the price they charge. Avoid at all cost.
Some of the worst service by hotel staff I've ever experienced was the reception team (Nisa in particular) at DarJusto. She was particularly rude and would not accommodate or respond to any of my quite basic requests but instead would spit and cough on my room bill and demanding to hold my phone in order to view booking confirmations. The hotel is OK but I do not recommend staying here if you value good customer service. For this I'd absolutely recommend ElFenn right down the street that has an amazing front desk team.
Stayed in DarJusto with my father. Two generations - one impression, MAGICAL. Super-friendly staff, super clean and inspiring atmosphere. Calm-down paradise. This will not be my last visit - You find yourself in the Medina with great restaurants and coffees just around the corner.
