I stayed 5 nights in this hotel with my sister from the 27th of October 2017. My itinerary was for a one night stay however on the morning of departure my sister's bag containing all her holiday money, an expensive ring and her compulsory daily medication was stolen from the reception area. We ended up missing the departure with our group and had no option but to stay to replace her medication and try to find out who stole the bag. All areas were covered by CCTV and having pleaded and pleaded with management we were shown the dining area which showed my sister carrying her bag. They refused to show us the reception footage stating the technician did not know the password. This was after a full blown argument between the technician and manager. The next day the excuse for not showing us the cctv was that the footage was blurry and only showed us leaving the hotel. This was another blatant lie as we never left the hotel that morning. We received no help and support from anyone and it became quite clear that the bag was stolen by staff. JAMELA, HASSAN AND HASSNA are liars. As far as the hotel itself is concerned, the food was awful and the rooms disgusting. During our stay our room was not cleaned once despite several requests. The pool area is small and mostly dwarfed by the building which prevents any direct sunlight, making any sunbathing a pointless exercise. Please please if you do not want your holiday ruined, then DO NOT STAY HERE.
I stayed at this hotel with a group. I found the hotel amenities far below what I would expect from a four star hotel. I had to change rooms because the cover of the water reservoir for the toilet flush was a gerry-rigged cover that fit a different type of reservoir altogether. The room was shabby. The food in the restaurant was at best mediocre.
Our guess is that the hotel has taken on board advice given from previous reviews. We found the hotel to be comfortable, spacious and very clean. The staff helpful and cheery. Restaurant food perfectly OK. Pools cold, so didn't take a dip but in their summer at at 40 degrees+, a dip in a non heated pool would be bliss we're sure! We changed our money at reception - made us giggle as it appeared the lady just got out her handbag - no major security event. (Exchange rate in line with else where though). Whilst there, so were the Morrocan football team (a 6 day bonding/training event before their next world game qualifying game) - can't get a better "thumbs up"/recommendation for the hotel if the national team choose to stay there! Found the hotel was ideally suited for all we wanted to do.
The hotel is situated close to the beautiful railway station of Marrakesh and the Opera. It has very large rooms and bathrooms, separate toilet rooms. You can use two nice little pools, protected from the sun by the hotel’s buildings and some tall trees. Friendly staff in the reception. Cons: the restaurant offers very basic food, when there is anything at all, but sometimes for 15 minutes there is almost nothing. No forks and teaspoons during breakfast time. When I told that to a server, he brought only two forks and said that there is a teaspoon in the cup with sugar.
Meriem Hotel is ok average but definitely not 4 star more like 2 star. Breakfast average no fresh orange juice it was all diluted when you think oranges grow in that country... Sometimes no coffee... Ok bed sheets and towels we're changed every day.. Toilet leaked for 2 days before it was a repaired.. Swimming pool dirty i did not use it @ all neither my friend.. No iron"no kettle" we asked for one but we were told that don't provide any... Staff were members were friendly. Except one staff member he was obnoxious very rude we had one hell of argument with him he pushed me so i went for him i asked him to call the Police but by then manage walked in he told him to go out. I said either you call the police or i want a written apology from him but the manager was very apologetic.... Apart from that we had a great time in Marrakesh i love the city but I would not RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE they say it average price but by the time you charge your luggage charges tax charges a bit of expensive SO MY ADVICE DON'T BOTHER GOING THERE...
Stayed twice for one night at the beginning and end of our trip. The hotel has a nice lobby, ok WiFi, a fridge in the room, TV with at least one English channel. On both occasions we had to wait for the room to be cleaned, this was a pretty basic cleaning, on the 2nd occasion there was still sand on the floor and an orange pip in the bed. Breakfast is poor, a buffet lunch is available, not sure of the cost, we had a tuna sandwich which was ok, but double the price of the Panini shop a few doors away.
We arrived at 11 pm but they had very kindly left a cold dinner in the room for us, which they were not obliged to do.They also kept some swimming trumks I had left and asked for on my return from a short circuit)The swimmiing-pools are really nice, the food is good although the breakfast was not great. As far as I could work out there was no English speaking channel on the Tv but the room was spotless, spacious and nice. It is a 10 minute walk from the Menara gardens,(just round the corner from a luxury shopping mall) 100 metres from main station, in a modern area full of hotels (if you turn right and right again there is a big shopping area), a 10 minute , and 4 euro ride to the Medina and a 10 min ride to the airportt. The expensive Riads are probably a better option as they are near the action and more 'authentic` but as a mid-range four star hotel it is good value
Paid £60 a night for a quadruple room. Decoration was good, pool was nice, elevator was pretty much broken. Large nice helpful reception. Breakfast was not very good, bathrooms did not have locks, There was TV's with a few English channel, bedrooms was a good size, Had a convenient wardrobe and a fridge, Booked hotel 30 mins before arrival but this was not a problem.
I went to Marrakech from London on Friday 7th July. I booked two rooms for my family and the rooms I received was not as shown as on the picture and it was disgusting. The towel and bed sheet had stains and the bed was broken. One of the rooms the air conditioning unit just went bust and smoke filled the room. The hotel refused to help and were rude. The hotel advertises €1.60 tax per night per person and demaded a figure at the time of check in. The tax was paid. But during check out they demanded more and after contacting my travel agent I realised the Hotel is doing this on a regular basis and scamming vulnerable customers. Worst customer service ever and Hotel does not even deserve one star. Staff and receptionist are soo rude. Whoever books this hotel will receive a bad unclean hotel room, hotel staff asking for bribe and ripping customers off and also rude behaviour.
towels, bed sheets & toilet was dirty and just as we arrived had to tell them. No kettle in room and fridge was unplugged. Breakfast was very poor and had to wait for 10 min to tell someone the tea or,,, is finished. Very poor service. I would not recommend at all. Pay a little more and get a better service.
