We were supposed to stay at the hotel ( my sister, father and I) for a total of 8 days, but on the first day our father had to leave due to unforeseen circumstances. Which left me and my sister alone, the staff was absolutely superb and we felt so taken care of. They arranged everything for us and made sure everything was ok at any given moment. Small gestures such as what kind of coffee we liked in morning made our stay even better. Every day activity and restaurants they arranged and recommended for us was perfect. They went beyond what we ever imagined and we would definitely like to come back.
We stayed 5 nights at this lovely resort. From the moment we entered reception the service and friendliness was apparent. We were kindly upgraded from a 3bdrm to 4 bdrm ryad which was a 4 story massive house. It was decorated beautifully and came complete with butler service. The pool in the ryads are not heated so we spent most of our time at the main pool which is big and has plenty of sun beds. I had a hammam treatment in the resort which admittedly wasn’t the best but the spa facilities are very good. They have a kids club however our son didn’t use it because he was enjoying the pool so much. We ate most days at the pool and the food is very good. One bug bear for all guests was the lack of poolside service. Trying to get someone to serve you was difficult- even after approaching them and being told yes we’ll get to you but didn’t because they were too busy chatting with their colleagues. There were 2 exceptions to this which were Mohammad who provided excellent and personalized service to all guests on the days when he was working and the life guard Anass who always kept a watchful on our son swimming and would bring him fresh towels and move our umbrella as the sun moved. Very kind people who obviously take great pride in their work - thank you! The location is perfect, 10 minute walk to the Medina but we spent most of our time inside the resort because it was so relaxing and beautiful. Thank you to HR Barriere LeNaoura Marrakech- we will be back! I have joined the Barriere program as I now plan to stay at their other hotels after such an impressive experience. 5*****
Great hotel a oasis in a mad city. Fantastic location and super facilities , pay extra for superior room it's worth it, restaurant pricey and dishes very salty. Concierge very helpful but do not use them to book airport transfers very expensive. Gym small and basic but hamman & spa great. Lovely pool and plenty sunbeds to relax on just need the sun...
First time in Marrakech, chose the Naoura especially for its perfect location and balcony. Very warm welcome at arrival, room is good size and very clean. Had breakfast by the pool almost daily. Friendly and helpful staff. Had NYE's dinner in the hotel. The food and wine were fantastic. The hotel was fully booked but quiet since there were no Americans :)
Booked 2 x 4 bedroom ryads for 13 guests and prior to arrival requested the ryads to be as close to each other as possible. Arrived slightly earlier than check in time and was advised that one of the ryads was ready and the other would be ready in a short while. We were advised to wait in the reception area for around 15 mins, we were surprised not to be offered any drinks or towels for refreshment as this seemed to be the norm when other guests were arriving. Ryad 524 was perfect, well appointed rooms with en suite bathrooms and excellent lounge and dining area with a good terrace area and private pool. Ryad 516 was much the same with one major drawback, it was completely in the shade with no sun coming through during the day. The hotel and ryads are perfectly located, 5 min walk to the Koutobia Mosque and Djemaa El Fna. The staff at the hotel on the face of it are quite friendly although the pool attendant didn't seem very friendly to us. Not sure due to us being a large party we had a few service issues. A broken glass in the room was not cleared by maintenance for 2 hours. Sometimes the 24hr butler service would not answer the phone and when they answered at times would pass you to another department. Breakfast was good, although we have experienced better in other hotels. A few favourites were missing such as hash browns and Baked Beans not sure if that's just more a Brits thing. Booking a Ryad allowed you to have a Continental breakfast in the room if you didn't want to go for breakfast at the restaurant. Ryad 516 ordered breakfast to the room one morning, which did not arrive for 2 hours. The manager Yasin took away the complaint advising he will put it to the attention of the General Manager, but we heard nothing of this after this. On the whole cant fault the location and the Ryads themselves as they accommodated a large party like us very well. However the service definitely needs an improvement to be classed as a true 5 star.
This is an excellent hotel near the Souks and not far by foot or taxi from some great restaurants.the staff were wonderful ,the rooms spacious.the riads look even better. Good food in the main restaurant.we felt very safe and well served.good attention to detail.comfortable rooms although the duvets were a bit too heavy for us.
First time in Marrakech, chose the Naoura especially for its Perfect location and were not disappointed at all!! Very warm welcome at arrival, room super and very clean, had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, breakfast always through room Service: super and again: staff super Friendly and helpful! Whatever needed was fulfilled asap! Especially Khadijeh! Will for sure return here since Really relaxing !!!
Interesting ryad, very large and modern, pool was odd as was visable from the street, security on the front door stopped any issues. Nice hotel and good service but not great. just good. friendly but maybe more friendly to locals and not British. Good food and drinks.
It is a real shame that I am writing this review. We went there for Christmas and I waited almost 4 weeks to write it as I wanted to wait to see how the hotel would handle this. The hotel is really well located if you go on a short break and want to make the oat of it. We rented a full Ryad and I would recommend that you do choose one that will be well located to get the winter sun. Ours, Fleur d'Oranger, did not get much sun at all. So for the price you pay to have your private pool, I would make a point for it. It was spacious and nicely decorated. We ended up having lunch at The Wardya restaurant next to the pool every day. Yassin & Yassine were excellent with us, great service and very courteous. Unfortunately, this stay has been darkened by the fact that two pieces of clothes disappeared from the dressing. Before making any false accusations, I waited to get back to London to check if I did indeed take those two pieces with me. The fact is that I did so I contacted the hotel and I have been in touch with Hitcham Halouani, Room division manager. He reassured me at first that an investigation will be carried out and they will surely find my two pieces of clothes. I have even sent a picture of me wearing one top. Well, I have been informed that after investigation, the personal who came to our Ryad were long serving ones so no suspicion at all, full stop. Which to me led to believe that me, the customer, I am the liar! So to date, nothing. It is not so much the value it is more about the fact that I have been robbed in such an establishment and they seem to think that this is ok. I won't be able to find those clothes anymore and I loved them. They were Hyppie chic style so beware!! It is a real shame as everything else was lovely, except the lack of sun in our Ryad. So I am afraid that I would rate the service as Poor since they did not handle my case very well at all to say the least.
In August (!) 2017 I have received a booking confirmation from the hotel for a stay end of December 2017 till January 2018. Although the booking was confirmed from the hotel ( and the room needed to be paid on departure) I got a mail December, 5th, from the hotel that -to make the booking safe- the hotel will charge the full amount for the stay in advance. No discount for this prepaid room rate was offered. Although already 3 years ago I filled in the registration form to become member of the Barriere hotel group. One year ago I have filled in the form again to become a membership bonus and advantages for this hotel where I have stayed several times. I have not received a bonus or advantage of the hotel because of my booking. Despite of that the hotel can see in their booking system who will arrive and if this is a frequent guest. Because of not (!) getting a discount for the prepaid room and not getting a Bonus from Barriere hotel group I have applied ( in a mail) for a meeting with the general manager. But I received no answer and send them a second reminder. Then I got informed in a mail from the reception manager that this meeting should take place on the day of arrival. On arrival this talk/meeting has not taken place and there was no message in the room. Upon arrival we got offered a cocktail. In the definition of the hotel this is a juice. In the bath tub we found a lot of fungi mould. This can damage your health. A security check will be done when you arrive in the hotel. But this is always not done in a secure correct way even when - after passing the gate - the system is making alarm. So I went to the reception and asked the staff if there is a message for me. But even there was no message for me and I only heard that the front office manager has left the house. The next morning I made a new appointment for this meeting. This meeting took place with the front office manager and another manager but not with the general manager. I got informed that the hotel is not willing to make any upgrade nor any discount for the prepaid room although the room should be paid when the check out would take place. I have insisted that this case should be discussed with the general manager which was confirmed. I was asked at what time we planned to return to the hotel in the evening to get informed about the decision of the general manager. We have informed him that we would return at 10:30 p.m. It was promised that we should get a message. On return there was no message at the reception and no message in the room. Next day we have had another talk. There was no excuse about having us not informed but we got offered to give us two more plastic (!!) bags for documents. See pictures which will be uploaded soon. When returning to the room we saw that a burglar has been in the room. It was impossible to close the balcony door at first floor. So we went to the reception and have asked the receptionist to give us a written confirmation that we cannot close the door. This is and was important to be insured/covered with our insurances. It was denied but he send us a housekeeper to repair the door and lock. The man has checked the door and he was unable to repair it. Again I have asked the receptionist to give us the written confirmation and again it was denied. I got informed that I can get it the next morning at 9:00 a.m. Of course nothing has happened. So we had breakfast with poor service: The young female server does not understand English very well. Orange juice was not served. Opposite the milk was served in two versions: hot and cold. The we went to the Front desk manager. Also he denied to give us a written confirmation that the door cannot be closed. Instead of this he send us another housekeeper with his female assistant. They were working 15 minutes to repair it. Then they wanted to leave us telling that the lock, frame and door is repaired. We wanted to see and to check it. Also they said that all is working in a correct way we saw that nothing was done. Still the door could not be closed. Because of this they needed to work another 15 minutes to repair it finally. Now it was possible to lock the door. What a pity that even after having done this work it was impossible to close the door in a correct way. Within 50 cm there is a gap of 1 cm!! So with the right tools you can still get inside the room. The reason is that the frame needs to get renewed! The evening before we left early next morning we needed to pay the bill. Then we needed to pay the tax: 50 € for a stay of 6 days. As written before the room rate was already prepaid. The receptionist has offered a breakfast service next morning at 6:00 a.m. Of course the breakfast has not arrived till 6:30 a.m. Then we went to the reception to order a yellow cab taxi to the airport. Then one of the staff stopped 2 taxis which we should share with other guests what we rejected. Then another taxi was stopped. The driver does not wanted to use his taxameter. He wanted to get 100 Mad for this ride. We rejected this. Then the receptionist told us that we would not find a taxi with a cheaper price and we should accept it. We have not done it and stopped another taxi who wanted to charge 60 Mad what we accepted. This was another example that the staff here is not well trained and not well informed. Because of all of these experiences I cannot recommend this hotel. Of course we will not return here. My personal individual rating: Service: 1 point Reception: 1 point Security: 1 point Location: 3 points Cleanliness: 2 points Value for money: 1-2 points Management: 1 point Breakfast: 2 points Service breakfast: 2 points Quality of breakfast: 2 points
