My husband and I stayed here for one night immediately after our wedding in Marrakech at the beginning of the month. We travel to Morocco often and have stayed in all manner of 5 star hotels but had never had the opportunity to stay at Dar Rhizlane, so we were excited to try it out. When we arrived at the hotel, we told the staff it was our honeymoon and that we had just had our wedding the few days before so when the Manageress said she would sort something out and escorted us to our room, we thought they may have given us a complimentary upgrade as a gesture of goodwill. Alas, the room was a shoebox - especially considering the price that we paid - which is on the high side considering average rates for five star hotels in the city. They even went so far as to say they were fully booked, yet when I checked on expedia and booking.com - they still had a number of rooms available for that evening! Not the best way to handle the situation at all - especially as the manageress had told us at length about the wedding they had just hosted for a 'VIP' and how 'well' they manage celebrations and occasions. Later that evening, they also had a huge issue with us ordering some glasses so that we could have some of the leftover drinks from our wedding, even though we ordered wines, beers, soft drinks etc through their bar. Just generally handling the situation in the least diplomatic way possible. In terms of the accommodation - the bed took up the entire room, and there was very little floor space to lay down our luggage. The toilet was right near the door, adjacent to the communal living space between 4 other rooms which isn't ideal. You open your curtains and you can see straight into another bedroom which definitely doesn't offer privacy or discretion! It was like being in a riad in the centre of the medina which is very charming and cosy, but not always the most practical - hence the decision to stay out of the medina. But at triple the price with the same floorspace - I really wish we hadn't! The minibar fridge had a see-through door with a bright light shining through all night, so eventually i had to get up and cover it with some clothes to stop the light hindering our sleep. The 'complimentary' breakfast we ordered didn't come with half of the items on the menu that should have been included. After leaving breakfast, we were chased down by a staff member with a bill for 30Dirhams for the water that we had during breakfast! Just ridiculous! Service was slow and sluggish, and the attitudes of the FOH staff were poor and disinterested. The pool area is really nice, but be warned - it's so quiet that every conversation is amplified - so again, no privacy for guests. Also uncomfortable to have the Manageress marching back and forth constantly whilst trying to relax. A complete letdown on our honeymoon, and we definitely won't be back.
Delicious meal! We did the three course set menu and it was phenomenal! Service was great. You most do the Moroccan starters. 14 tiny plates of amazing food. Then we had lamb. Delish! We had beer and wine and there was a few guys playing traditional music
Amazing welcoming with a Moroccan tea..friendly staff, the moment you enter the Dar it feels like home, the smell of the place takes you away in time.. the whole green place takes you to heaven, the rooms are so authentic and supper clean, took suite with two rooms and terrace as I'm traveling with my kids, it was so big that they were able to play and chill at the living room. The house keepers were so friendly and helpful and so kind with all time smile on their faces.. specially (Fadwa) who was so happy to help us in every thing in our room, as she even greeted us with a home made sweets the next day of celebrating Eid. The Spa was so relaxing and I loved the Moroccan bath done by (Fatima) The breakfast was so yummy my kids loved it and also me as you have a lot of healthy choices. The dinner was as well so nice and could be so romantic if I wasn't with my kids, they had live music as someone plays a Moroccan instrument while ur having dinner surrounded by roses and candles 🌹 At the desk you can ask anything about Marrakech and they can help arranging it for you, trips and small tours. Simply, couldn't ask for better and definitely I'm im coming back.
Can't say enough good things about this hotel! Setting, staff and food all fab!! We had a ball. The pool area is really nice and serene. The hotel is beautiful and has an old Morocco feel. The detail in the decor is extremely well thought through. Excellent!!
We came as a family of four with two teenage boys and we all loved our experience here. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. It has an authentic feel of a Riad with a backdrop of tranquility and peace. Every aspect of the hotel from light switches to toilet roll holders have had attention to detail. The poolside beds are not your usual plastic contraption with a cushion, but instead are luxurious actual double beds and are very comfortable to doze off in the sun. As the hotel only has a handful of guests staying at any point in time, there is no need to rush for the poolside beds, making the whole holiday stressless. The rooms feel like home from home with a living room and everything you would expect from a high quality hotel- well stocked mini-bar, free bottles of water, hairdryer, high quality cotton robes, leather slippers, wonderful cotton sheets, TV and wifi in each room, air-condition .... the list goes on. The sofas and beds were very comfortable too. The service is more than 5 star, the staff could simply not done more for us. They will spot that you need your umbrella adjusting as the sun creeps round and will do this without being asked. They are ever so polite and will go out of their way to help you with a huge smile and make sure you are having a wonderful time. Nothing is too much for them. The hotel breakfast is a banquet and of very high quality which includes everything from freshly squeezed orange juice, to fruit salad, to local breads, freshly baked croissants, eggs of your choice, tagines, meats, cheeses etc. The service is so personalised as there is almost a 1:1 ratio of guests to staff, so they remember small details of what you like and don't like, so you don't have to repeat yourself. Whilst we were staying the hotel offered melon time mid-afternoon and freshly baked biscuits and Moroccon tea at late afternoon for free, which was nice to indulge in whilst lazing by the lovely pool. The location is not miles away from Al Fina square- about a 30 minute walk or a 5 min taxi drive. You can get a taxi easily from outside of the hotel which costs around £4-5 to get to the square. Overall, it was a wonderful hotel, with wonderful staff and we had a wonderful holiday which helped to recharge our batteries and simply relax.
I have been going to Marrakech since the mid 80s (i was a kid then). I saw the city booming and stayed in many places from private riads, hotels, boutique hotels or palaces. Now you have hundreds of hotels and a lot of choices. Trust me, Dar Rhizlane is the best. From the attention of details on the interior design to the service, it is great. I can't believe it is the first time I write a review. I sent many of my friends and only had great feedback. If you tend to prefer boutique hotels, place with a soul, you found the perfect place. Location is great. Size is amazing (20 room I believe). Food is very very good. Rooms are just amazing (I was there with a few members of my family so we saw many rooms from the normal one (already nice) to the Suite Blanche or the Suite on the 3rd floor that are just insane. A tip would be to take a suite if you can as they are much bigger. I stayed in a normal room too and they are great but the suite are kind of special. Long story short, if you are looking for a super relaxing, family style and stunning hotel, Dar Rhizlane is your place.
We rely liked this hotel, the building is beautiful and the surrounding as well. Very helpful and nice staff. Food at the restaurant was very good! The pool area is very romantic and comfortable. We had a comfortable room on the ground floor, large with a private s garden. Defiantly recommended.
We had a wonderful 3 nights while in Morocco. The rooms are comfy- we loved the balcony for drinks each evening. The pool is such a wonderful refuge from the hot sun. Breakfast was incredible...all the food barely fit on the table. The staff and management were genuinely interested in your comfort and enjoyment. We loved our spa treatments, but there was a bit of noise from a project. Can't wait to take my girl friends back to this fabulous resort!
Wow, what to say about this place other than what a fabulous six nights! The hotel is a fabulous place to chill out from the hassle and bustle of Marrakech. The room was stunning and I was lucky to be upgraded for the duration of my stay (thanks DR management). The pool is gorgeous and a great place to relax for a few hours before continuing your adventures around Marrakech. The staff are great and I was well looked after - 100% I would recommend this hotel to anyone! Fellow guests were diverse ranging from couples, families and even same sex couples. Stay and ENJOY!!
If you search the atmosphere of an Arabic palace then go to this Dar. You will wake up in an elegant romantic room with the sounds of birds. Then have the most delicious fresh breakfast you've ever had. The staff will do everything to make your day unforgettable. On the end of the day relax under the orange tree near the beautifull swimming pool. End your day with a delicious dinner under a sky with thousand of stars and dream of your next stay....
