Very bad experience

This place was advertised as a 4-5 stars hotel but when we got there it was Someone’s old and scary house. We checked our navigation and there wasn’t direct route to this house. We had to call the lady owner and she said someone will come and collect you from parking. The car park was in middle of nowhere and we were not sure if we should leave the hired car there . It was very scary. We had to leave our car in a car park somewhere and a guy came and took us by walk to a strange and scary alleys . When we got to the property, we realised that it was someone house . the lady owner said this is her house and she is living in it. We were shocked. We looked at the rooms and it was just a ordinary bed room with old fat tv. The downstairs living room was too small compared what we saw in website. We couldn’t get our money back as it was non refundable. We lost of money and we had to go to go the Marrakesh city and walk into to hotels and book room for us. This was very very bad experience . this property should of been advertised as Airbnb not 4-5* hotel. Also I recommend if you want to booked hotel in other county and you want to fell safe and have nice time, plz check other people’s reviews which I didn’t check before I book this place.

The decor is nothing less than extravagant but still tasteful. It was furnished in Moroccan high style. In addition, the owners are from India and the house has items that reflect that. The host is very attentive and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. All this while being located within the Marrakech medina. It is an oasis of tranquilty amidst the hustle and bustle.

Of all the places we stayed in Morocco this one definitely felt the most like a persons home. The decorations are very intriguing. The owner was very kind and welcoming. Breakfast could have been more substantial

Home away from home in Marrakech

This beautifully run Riad is a dream come true for me🙏 Gloria the madam of the home is so kind and lovely that I when I was first greeted by her I couldn’t of felt happier .. from every detail from the room to a wonderful breakfast ... thank you Glory I look forward to my return 🌈🙏😘

Fantastisk riad midt i Souken

Vi hadde et fantastisk opphold i Riad el Mudal. Vi avtalte på forhånd med hotellet om henting på flyplassen. Sjåføren sørget for at vi kom trygt helt fram til døren (kan være vanskelig å finne første gang i mylderet av smågater) Beliggenheten var perfekt til å utforske den spennende souken. Etter hektiske dager i de trange gatene med mylder av folk og småbutikker, var det fantastisk å kunne komme «hjem» til Dar El Mudal igjen. Gloria som eier Riaden er en fantastisk dame som skaper en god atmosfære sammen med sine to ansatte. Vi hadde mange hyggelige samtaler med henne i de tre dagene vi bodde der. Hun er veldig behjelpelig med å anbefale og booke restauranter i nærheten. Frokosten var veldig god, og den ene dagen fikk vi den servert oppå den hyggelige takterassen. Vi spiste 3-rettets middag i Riaden den ene kvelden og det var veldig godt. Huset til Gloria er fullt av malerier som hennes avdøde mann har malt. De er helt fantastiske, og veldig innteressant å høre Gloria fortelle om de når vi spurte henne. Det var perfekt å bo der i 3 døgn til å utforske souken før vi etterpå reiste litt på utsiden av byen på et stort upersonlig hotell for litt mer luft og avslapning. Vi kommer gjerne tilbake til Gloria neste gang vi kommer til Marrakech og kan absolutt anbefale denne plassen!

Excellent home stay in merakech

Ist time stay in old city called Madina. Location is ideal and convenient for taxi, all important place walking distance like Jamaal El finna, bhai a place, katoubia mosque and many more. Owner and staff excellent, cooperative. Stay like home and relaxing.

My husband and I stayed in this amazing riad for a week. We booked this riad to have an authentic experience rather than stay at a resort; Dar el Mudal did not disappoint! One of this it’s best features is its proximity to everything. Abdullah greeted us on the main street and escorted us to the riad. The outside door is so beautiful and stands out from the other riads. We were greeted and checked in by the ever so gracious Gloria (owner of Riad). We were shown to our room and brought mint tea and cookies! The service was immensely wonderful, the most attentive and kind staff we have encountered in our many travels. Breakfast was amazing each day; We also had dinner with a bottle of wine which was the best meal we had on our entire trip! Highly suggest having dinner there. Countless art pieces throughout the home, most of which were painted by Gloria’s late husband gave the feeling of walking into a museum; I took more pictures there than outside exploring. We had great conversations with Gloria; she gave us recommendations about attractions we should see and told us lovely stories. A great woman to converse with, she is highly respected among the community. She helped us arrange a day tour to the Atlas mountains; The rates were on par with online. The tour was a memorable experience, and I recommend it. My husband’s favorite part was playing with Gloria's adorable cats, they were cute and playful and added to the experience. I am happy we chose this as our riad!

Great riad close to everything but very quiet compared to the rest of the Medina. Wonderful hosts and beautiful property. Rooftop terrasse is amazing and so relaxing after a long day walking in Marrakech.

Glorious Riad Close to Palaces, Koutoubia, & Souks

Although small, the riad is sumptuously decorated with portraits, paintings and other tasteful oldie-worldie collections.The location is superb, right next to Bahia Palace and a big square where there are many cafes and restaurants, notably the Kosybar (with a terrase of the city and Atlas mountain view). Koutoubia and Jamaa El Fna is a 10 minute walk through either narrow street of shops or a bigger road where there are beautiful gardens of Koutoubia and Cyber park or the souk and snake charmers on the Jamaa El Fna. 5 minutes' walk will get you through the square to the Old Royal Palace of Badi. Rooms are clean. Staffs are friendly and cannot do enough for you. The owner Gloria is elegant, friendly and informative, she was there to receive us and upgraded us to a bigger room for a few days (as the bookings allowed) because it's our wedding anniversary. The night manager Abduleh (apologies if I spelt it wrong) speaks French and English, served us beautiful breakfasts, when I mentioned I missed having sausages , they appeared on our plate next day. I could't manage the hackling with the locals in the souks, when he knows I would like to get a few local souvenirs, he went out and bought me a set of colourful tea glasses, a tajine, and another day got me 4 bottles of100% Argan oil, all at the price of the local people would pay. I cannot thank him enough. Gloria is so kind and generous to us that we are very grateful. We had a lovely stay in this riad and would go back again.

Elegant everywhere, the owner is very nice and can accommodate our needs such as having early breakfast. Whole place is so beautiful. Only downside is that hot water is not hot enough.

A beautiful riad in the heart of the medina

We loved this riad, and recommend it very highly. Our hostess, Gloria, offered warm hospitality and a wealth of useful information. Our lovely room was decorated with paintings by Gloria’s late husband, and the whole house is filled with treasures that the family collected around the world. The location was perfect - close to many of the cultural and historical sites, as well as the ever-fascinating souks. Breakfast was delicious, and very ample. We have already recommended this riad to friends and family.
