In January 2009 I visited this facility in Manzanillo. Went back to it yesterday and obviously the facility has not been maintained to the standards that I would expect. Maintenance has not been done to keep the rooms clean and to not show wear. It still has fabulous views and a great pool, but I think it dropped from a 3 star to 2 star!
We were at first surprised that room was not exactly gorgeous, but we soon got over that. Yes, the drawers and cupboard doors were not perfect, but everything else was wonderful. Great service, great restaurant with great prices. Be sure to have guacamole. It's huge! The grounds were beautiful, as well as the views from every room. The pool was beautiful and the water was the right temperature. The water in shower plenty hot. Allowed to visit neighboring Las Hadas for no fee. Lots of steps to keep you in shape. Wonderful margaritas. Enjoy!
Beautiful grounds, great views, very nice staff but way too many stairs! Bus stop right in front of hotel lobby which was convenient. Room was large, bright and clean. Only 3 tv channels in English with no news channels 😟
I and my friend family (two people were 85+ years) stayed here for three days – from Jan 7th to Jan 9th 2017. Over all it was great experience. Pros: 1. Excellent beach view. 2. Very clean room. 3. Clean and decent swimming pool. 4. Decent restaurant. 5. Friendly staffs. 6. Very helpful and kind front desk staffs. 7. Battery cars are available for walking difficulties people. Cons: 1. Lots of stairs. Ups and downs to go to swimming pool or beach. (still, it is walkable stairs. And for walking difficulties people battery car service is available so it is really okay abut stairs)
My review is strictly for the restaurant as we have never stayed at the hotel. We have been going to the restaurant for many years, I "think" that it has possibly changed hands several times during this time. Recently my husband and I went for dinner. My husbands meal was red snapper and he was delighted with it. I chose a beef dish, worst meal I have ever had in Mexico, the beef, three strips of it with no taste and not hot was as tough as shoe leather and I dread to think where it came from? We complained to the waitress who was very sorry but there was no offer of anything and nothing taken off our bill. We will not return as there is no need to with all the other restaurants we love to dine at and new ones we find each time we visit.
We spend the long weekend for mexican revolution at this hotel It was a very nice option because of price Rest assured you need to walk a lot of stairs, ups and downs, however the view is just amazing, is also the small beach at the skirt of the base in the hotel This is not your all inclusive luxury expensive location but a nice and non expensive place to hang out and have a very good relaxing time including ocean view By the way the restaurant food is very good
We booked Dolphin Cove Inn for three nights in August. When we arrived, we were assigned a room in Building 8, about mid-way down the mountain, which meant we had to climb down 105 steps, and then walk down a narrow, spiral stairway in the building to get to our room. Anyone with any physical limitation is going to have difficulty getting up and down so many steps and carrying luggage down these steps is down-right dangerous. From here, it is another 150 steps down to the bar/restaurant and pool area. The hotel does not really have a beach area. This is the first hotel where we have stayed in Manzanillo that does not provide bottled water for the room, so if you want clean water to brush your teeth or to make coffee, bring it with you. The pool is small and right next to the restaurant. While we were there - in the middle of the week - it was dominated by a couple of families with about a dozen kids who were in the pool from the time it opened until it closed. We never did find a time when we could swim. The room was older but very clean. The kitchenette was supposed to have a microwave but did not. The dishes were cracked so I was glad I brought paper plates and cups. The view from the porch is very nice but the beds are very hard - and I like a firm mattress. There is no wifi service at all. They tell you it is available in the restaurant and reception area, but you will be disappointed if you walk all that way and find out that it has been turned off, which is what happened to us. We did like the restaurant and thought the food was good and it was always made fresh when ordered. The margaritas were pretty terrible - way too sweet. I couldn't even finish one. Play it safe and order a beer. Parking is available but very limited. We had trouble getting in and out of the parking area. There are 80 rooms but about 15 parking spaces total. There are some great places to stay in Manzanillo that take much better care of their customers than Dolphin Cove Inn. Find one of those and skip this place.
It was an average experience in this hotel. Cons There is no WIFI on the rooms only at common areas. The hotel does not have a very good beach. Breakfast is not that good Very few waiters for the amount of people that were at the hotel. Pros The pool is small but nice The food is actually great after breakfast The bar is good
Wonderful resort in Manzanillo Mexico located right on the bay with easy access to swimming and other water sports, we spent our days swimming and sailing, it was magnificent! The water was warm and clear and the breezes were cooling. The resort is beautifully landscaped with lovely tropical flowers everywhere, lining beautiful pathways and stairs. The restaurant is wonderful and the food delicious, we preferred the local seafood, and good margaritas! Service was excellent throughout the resort!
My sister messaged me from Colima to tell me that her kids had to leave a different hotel in Manzanillo because they were trying to charge them extra money in addition to what they had already paid on hotels.com, so I had to hurry and find them another place to stay. I called Dolphin Cove Inn and a gal by the name of Yojanat helped me with all of the information I needed so that my nieces and nephews could enjoy their stay in Manzanillo. Although I have not stayed there and my family is currently there enjoying their stay, it makes me happy to know they are being taken care of. My niece sent me a few pics and told me that Yojanat was very nice to them when they checked in. Muchas Gracias :)
