The Pearl Manila Hotel

Staff was friendly, pool was VERY nice. Gym had some pieces broke down but was still nice.

From the outdated look of all the furniture (it may have been new in the early 60's) which wasn't the worst part, to the fact that the entrance we were taken to, of the hotel was in the middle of an alley with homeless people sleeping across the street, to the bugs scurrying everywhere when we got into our room. Can not believe that Orbitz would allow a property this bad to be offered on its site

In reading previous reviews I had some expectations when it came to walking into this hotel. To say that it is "dated" is a HUGE understatement. Furniture, from the lobby (both on the first floor, and at reception), to the room were hold backs from the early 60's and appeared to have been bought at that time as EVERYTHING had stains on it and was showing signs of wear. When we finally got into the room, it had the feel of a totalitarian living space. Sparsely decorated, drab colors, and again furniture that showed it's age and use. Best of all, upon entering the restroom, it was infested with cockroaches (and not the small little baby ones either). It was so bad we had to leave and go to another hotel, even after we had paid for this one. The hotel staff was less than accommodating stating "well there are no refunds because you booked through a travel site". Pictures of the property are NOT what we saw at all.

sorry I was not there with my wife I always stay at the pearl manila and will be there on the 17th of june again look forward to coming there thank you

Staff was very helpful, polite, all requests were handled very efficiently . Can not enough good things about them. Location was great for me block to the Light Rail Station. Enjoyed the Oyster Bar on Thursday evening pretty female singer and piano player they did old classics from the 40's to 60's nice way to unwind after a long day. Being from Minnesota, the humidity in Manila was hard on me, sure have carried an extra shirt most of the time. Actually stayed at the Pearl Manila Hotel, Nov 20 to Nov 26, then renewed for my last 4 days, Nov to Dec 1.

I came to Manila to meet my facebook romance,my soon to be wife after 20 months of chatting on facebook..i have never been to Manila before so all was new to me..i booked a room for 19 days at the Pearl Manila because of the great room rate that i got and i have to say im happy i did..The room was great, very comfortable, the staff was fantastic..More than anything i would say the staff is what made it a wonderful stay, they were all very friendly, the room was always clean and all around i very much enjoyed my stay ..i would most definately recommend the Pearl to anyone wanting a low cost ,comfortable stay in Manila..The staff is the best i have ever seen in a hotel anywhere..THE BEST..

Hotel a little old and a lil run down. Rooms were descent but nothing to brag about. Location was ok but surroundings not that great.

The hotel was a lot older than appeared in the photos. The air was noisy, however it was awesome. There is no room service, but local eateries will deliver to the LOBBY. The room was roomy, but not as updated as what appeared in the photos. The service staff was excellent. I am on the fence in regard to recommending this hotel, however the location and staff and pushing me to make it a go ahead.

During my stay it seamed like everything broke. It took maintance 11 hours to responded to no AC which was just the AC remote control. Maintance responded to the SAFE wouldn't open and was going to drill a hole in the SAFE but house keeping brought the special key to open the safe and maintance then replaced the batteries, thank God

The elevator experience alone would prevent me from staying here ever again. A huge facility with two elevators that move slower than a snail. I waited longer on the elevator in my two day stay than time in a taxi going there from the airport.......good grief!

The hotel is great....because of the location to Times Plaza, Riza park, and the Roxas blvd... The pool, restaurant, and lounge on the 9th floor is my favorite.... The hotel is on university belt so you get some culture and a decent surrounding. ..the LRT is right there also... I loved it...I'll be back...

This Hotel used to be much better , then it is now. The Hotel needs some works in general. The inter net is always a problem in rooms. The Hotel has a good location , just off of Metro station.

If you are looking for a reasonably inexpensive hotel to stay, you are on a budget and do not want to stay in a hostel, the Pearl Manila Hotel is not a bad choice. Its advertisement indicates it is a 4-star hotel, it is more like a 3-star. You can tell in the hotel’s past, it was a premium hotel. However, today it needs major renovations, so do not let the photos deceive you. My room was located on the 16th floor. It was spacious and had an excellent view of the river and city. What I enjoyed the most, the room (actually entire floor) was quiet and peaceful. The item I was most dissatisfied with was the sporadic internet signal in the room. The hotel staff was great. What the hotel lacked in style and comfort, was compensated by the service. Although, the Pearl Manila is near many restaurants, shops and nightlife, it is not the best area. The streets leading to the hotel are poorly lit, if lit at all, and are lined with vagrants. To make matters worst, at the time of my stay, major road construction was being done in front of the hotel’s main entrance. Would I recommend this hotel? It would depend on who was requesting the recommendation. If it were my professional friends, who are accustomed to having superb accommodations and are not budget concerned, definitely not. However, my friends attending school and working, who like to travel, but expenses is of some importance, absolutely.

This is the second time I stayed at this hotel and is worth every penny the staff is great, the room is big and clean so I like it very much

although only in Manila for a short stay , the Pearl Manila I thought was a very good value. and the staff was fantastic. I will stay there again.

Stayed here while dating a girl from near Manila. We enjoyed the room, the swimming pool, and the view from the pool area on the 9th flooor.

Hotel seems to be going a little renovation. But, it did not interfere with my stay. Nice staff, a little long for a walk to nightlife but did it anyway. Lots of traffic in the area but rooms are after the first 8 floors so noise not a problem. Overall, I would stay here again.

The rooms at this hotel are clean and quiet. A few minor issues, but just minor. The 9th floor swimming pool is good sized and has a great view.

this is a bit run down but it is still a grand ole lady but the staff is why I would return great service from everyone, the pool was wonderful too but really this is the best staff od any hotel I have ever stayed in, the breakfast was fine adequate tasty but the service was all star, so I can't say enough about the friendly staff here really this is why you want to go to this hotel, they treat you like it means something to them.

We enjoyed taking a break from the hectic pace of the city. Although the street below was very busy, it was quiet and peaceful in our room on the 10th floor. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. The room was quite comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast as well. Overall, a pleasant stay. We would book here again.
