Great location and the room was nice. Sonesta should really change the location of the TV in their rooms. The closet blocks the TV for at least one of the guests in bed. I ran into this issue at several Sonesta hotels. Also - the manager at the JC site always seemed to be distracted. Room wasn't ready at 4:00 (Granted - lots going on in JC at that time - graduations, etc.) but this shouldn't have been an issue, knowing guests were arriving.

Clean room and linens. Nice room with regard to the plusses. It features a wardrobe closet with hangers, a refrigerator and coffee maker in its own space, plus a tv stand that can be adjusted to your view needs. Ours was a sizable room with a king bed, but only three small, but wonderful, pillows. You’ll see that the furnishings are a bit worn in certain areas of the hotel. 5 stars for the Trane HVAC room system. Quiet but efficient. Top shelf.

I’ll start off with staff. The guy who checked us in was very friendly and welcoming. No issues with him. While my kids were swimming, another staff member came in and yelled at them and told them if they broke anything, I’d be paying for it (they were throwing pool balls to each other, nothing that would have broken anything). The next day I asked for more towels, and the guy was insistent that I not wait for them. He told me to go to my room and he’d bring them to me. I told him I was happy to wait, but he wouldn’t take that as an answer. My initial reaction was that the property was very well put together…until I started looking around…the carpets are gross, trash on the couches and chairs, floors needed vacuumed, mold in the bathrooms, the ceiling paint was hanging down in the pool area…definitely not very well maintained by staff. Breakfast was very minimal…I’ve stayed in lots of hotels, and this was by far the worst breakfast selection ever. There were eggs and sausage links, 2 types of cereal, bagels and toast. No fruit, drinks were near empty, warmer lids didn’t stay on the food very well. I think the only positive thing that I really had about this stay was that there was a lot of seating in the lobby area.

The room was not all that clean and in the shower it seemed like either someone had used it before we got there or the housekeepers ruffled with towels. I took the sheet off and noticed there wasn’t a mattress protector and the mattress was all sorts of stained. The breakfast was mid at best. The sausages were burnt and the orange juice was not orange juice (a high sugar orange tasting juice like tampico maybe?)
