We stayed for the weekend whilst going to a concert at Etihad Stadium. The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from Piccadilly train station and about a 5 minute walk to the trams (direct tram to Etihad about 18 minutes away). The hotel is modern with a funky bar area (like a 50’s diner style) and a nice restaurant. Breakfast was continental but we upgraded to a cooked breakfast for £2 each per day. Staff are friendly and professional. We also used the spa, it’s fairly small and basic but it was nice. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Would recommend they have a dressing gown/slippers (unless this is in an upgraded room?) slip mat needed in the bath/shower and you only get a small shampoo and shower gel; no conditioner. The room had an ironing board/iron, safe, fridge, tv, hair dryer, tea/coffee facilities with biscuits. Would go back as the location is ideal.
We stayed here while in Manchester to watch Mumford & Sons, the arena is only 10 minutes away. The hotel is really stylish, the Bar is popular and trendy but not noisy and the staff are helpful and friendly, especially Hannah on the front desk. Taxi’s wait outside of an evening making it easy to get around, with the train station also being within a 5 minute walk. We managed to get a room upgrade to a room with a lounge for only £20 on the day of check in.
Lovely room - had a 2 night stay for a business trip. Bar was nice and quite busy in the evening. Edna was the star of the show looking after me and my colleagues at breakfast. After a bit of a delay on some of the order she went out of her way to make us feel very welcome Would visit again
Stayed for one night with my mum whilst attending a concert In Manchester. When we checked in we were offered an upgrade to our room at a cost of £10 which we agreed to as we felt this was reasonably priced. The room was spacious and clean with a bath and stand-alone shower in the bathroom. Service on check in very efficient and the girl was very friendly. When we checked out they tried to charge us £25 for drinks we supposedly had in the bar. We explained we hadn’t been in the bar and after looking at a receipt we were told “ok that’s fine” however we weren’t given an explanation as to why they tried to charge us initially. Apart from this the stay was excellent and I would stay in this hotel again
Stayed here yet again before going on holiday as it helps to get into holiday mode before the stress of traveling. We always have the same room (if available) and always treated with a warm friendly welcome. You can book an upgrade standby before you go but there is no pressure from staff on your arrival upgrade and pay extra. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable and there is a mini bar of drinks and snacks if you're so inclined. Lovely Bar area and restaurant is nicely set out. They do great deals if you're celebrating anything we've spend a couple of wedding anniversaries there. And they have some great offer on at various times.
Stayed here for one night for birthday drinks in Manchester. No availability for the spa which was disappointing. Room was spacious and and well equipped with safe, iron, tea facilities, mini bar and snacks, hair dryer. Room decor was a little tired and could do with some updating. We had upgraded to the superior junior suite and I was quite disappointed with what we got for the price we paid (220 for one night). The bed was amazingly comfortable and the best part of our stay. We didn't eat in the hotel so cant comment on that. We did order drinks to the room which were delivered without issue. Location is very close to town centre and directly opposite Picadilly station which is perfect! No noise at night though in the room and we stayed on a Saturday night. Would stay again if there were rooms at a much cheaper price.
Arrived early and our room was available- appreciated. The room was pretty good and air conditioning exceptionally efficient. Bathroom towels were fluffy and not the usual hard laundered variety. WC flush had to be held in to work. Shower cubicle flooring very slippy [they should have used anti-slip tiles]. Instead of signs saying water very hot [scalding] why do they not just reduce the temperature and save money/planet at the same time! Well located particularly for Piccadilly train station. Wouldn’t pay £300 for a one night stay again.
The staff were great and couldn't have done more to look after us, putting the event on their digital display in the foyer. They made sure that the bikes were looked after, the cars and luggage sorted out and the bar staff were so attentive. It was another lovely stay
Wanted to spend a night with my daughter before she goes travelling for a year, so I booked for us to have a mother and daughter evening in Manchester. Felt a bit strange as we both live here (Chorlton and Whitefield) but thought it would be fun to see our city as visitors as well as avoiding travel costs. Booked the Wine and Dine package at Malmaison and was not even slightly disappointed. From the second we arrived we received such a warm welcome. The staff are extremely professional but so friendly and we loved our stay. We had a standard twin room which was really nice and perfect for the two of us, the beds were soooooo comfy! The cocktail bar is a wonderful place to sit before dining and the cocktails were delicious. Included in the deal were two courses from the set menu and a bottle of wine to share and everything was delicious. Unfortunately breakfast wasn’t included in our deal so we didn’t get to sample the delights but in a big city like Manchester you’ll never struggle to find somewhere good to eat. We had a fabulous time playing tourists and would definitely recommend Malmaison to others.
We stayed here after watching a concert at the arena. We arrived at 3pm but our room want ready so we were asked to wait in the bar with complimentary drinks. We only had to wait 30 mins so no problem. Our room was on the 5th floor, it was clean, well maintained and the bed was comfy as were the pillows. The hotel was quiet, we heard no noise and were able to get a good nights sleep as the air conditioning was quiet and kept the room at a comfortable temperature. The hotel is ideally located by Manchester Picadilly station and an easy 5 min walk to the shops and bars. A great hotel for a centre stopover, we will definitely stay here again when staying in Manchester.
