Check-in very quick and polite. The room was perfect for a 2 night stay with all you need. The bar is well stocked, but the food offering is very slim. But bring only a 10min walk from Picadilly Square not an issue. Buffet style breakfast gets a bit congested as the service area is compact. Check out was smooth. If I'm back in Manchester this would be my 1st choice.
My boyfriend and I booked this hotel in advance as we were staying in Manchester for a gig - we those the AC because it's close to the arena, it was a better price than others and I had read very good reviews on here. Upon arrival we were greeted by stunning modern decor and a friendly receptionist who checked us in efficiently. The room was spacious, clean and everything we needed for the night. Lots of plug sockets, a full length mirror and good lighting in the bathroom (good for us girls) as well as a very comfy bed. My only very small grievance is that the TV signal isn't great - it kept breaking up every other minute. A huge bonus to this hotel is that you don't have to checkout until 12pm, which was great as we wanted to have a good chill in the morning before we headed off for food and then home. I would definitely stay here again!
I’d booked this hotel for one night for my husbands birthday. We had tickets for the High Flying Birds Gig at Heaton Park, followed by a day at the Trafford Centre & a meal at Akbar’s. Unfortunately the drive from Nottingham to Manchester took three times longer than expected due to an accident on the motorway therefore, we arrived at the hotel at 6.30pm! Upset & tired we were greeted by the lovely Caroline who immediately wished my husband a happy birthday and gave us a drink. Caroline ensured our every need was met and arranged for a late check out for us. Caroline alone went above and beyond our expectations. Having checked in, we sat at the bar & was served by the lovely Jake. Jake was a fountain of knowledge, helping us plan our route to Heaton Park and giving us some fabulous tips for the following day. Jake was personable & professional & helped us to relax & look forward to the wknd ahead. Our room was lovely, very modern & comfortable. We wanted for nothing. The hotel is prime location to the tram stop with a carpark next door for the bargain price of £7.50 for 24hrs. Thank you AC Marriott. We are already planning our next visit
I visited last month for an overnight stay and was really impressed. Marcus the duty manager was so much help, he got my room allocated quickly accommodating my early arrival. My room was spotless, really comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. Thanks for a lovely stay
A lovely stay from arrival to departure. Staff were friendly and professional and happy to answer any questions we had about the Hotel or the surrounding area. The Hotel is modern yet has many personal and stylish touches to it. Our room on the second floor was spacious and well equipped. We loved the hard flooring, rather than carpet, and appreciated a good sized T.V. and an area with table and chairs to sit and read. The bar area, where breakfast is served, was comfortable and it was nice as residents to enjoy a drink on our return from an evening out. The location is superb. Although there is a huge amount of new building work going on around the Hotel it did not disturb us and you are perfectly located for the Arena, the Northern Quarter and the Arndale. There are some excellent restaurants and bars within five minutes walk. Parking at a car park directly next to the Hotel is 7.50 for twenty four hours which is much lower than other Manchester Hotels we have stayed at. I think this is our Hotel of choice for a return visit to the City!
Really nice hotel situated centrally in Manchester. I stay here for business as this is walking distance to the office. I don’t have a bad word to say about this hotel, staff are always friendly (the check in guy who was some kind of manager was way over the top and cringe worthy during the check in process). The rooms are always immaculate, no noise at all from other rooms, and I adore the beautiful smell that’s pumped in to the lobby.
We checked in at around 3. The check in staff were very friendly. The room 102 was extremely clean. The bathroom had everything you need for a night in a hotel. You are around the corner from the best restaurants in Manchester. The buffet breakfast was a perfect start to the day.
I booked this hotel with a friend. We visit Manchester on a regular basis and it was the first time staying in this hotel. On arrival the check in was fine, we were checked in by a gentleman on his first shift, we decided to have breakfast the following morning for a charge of £10 each. The room was nice, comfy and nice decor. We went out on the Sunday evening for dinner and returned to the hotel. The following morning we went for breakfast and this is where things changed. The food had not been replenished and what was out was cold. My friend asked if more food was about to come out and was rudely told it’s been busy. Nothing more came out so we had toast to wait, there was no butter, so we had to ask. We got a frosty glare and the butter was brought out, the staff member said “I can’t be bothered with this” and threw the butters into the rack again complaining that they had been busy. After toast and waiting for a while no further food came out, my friend asked if she could have some poached eggs. They were brought out on a plate, water dripping off the plate and they were hardly cooked, they made me heave. We ended up having a piece of toast, which was only toasted on one side! And nothing else. We went out to get breakfast, and did some shopping. Returning at 4pm we spoke to the duty manager about breakfast, he apologised and said we won’t be charged. We got to our room and no housekeeping had been. At about 4.30pm she knocked the door and said “I take it you don’t want housekeeping now?” We felt like we were putting her out, we asked for clean towels, some toiletries, and the bin emptied. Only hand towels left, only body lotion left - not much good for both of us to wash our hair with. I had to go out and by toiletries. We called at reception to ask for a taxi on our way out and the receptionist was so nice and really sorry about everything. The next morning at check out we were asked to pay for breakfast I tried to explain about the discussion with the duty manager, and the gentlemen just dismissed us and spoke to another guest. The hotel has since taken the money out of my friends account for the breakfast, no apology. I am really disappointed in my stay, I expected more as we paid extra to stay at this hotel. The customer service was patchy, breakfast the worst I have ever had- and I stay in a lot of hotels with work, and housekeeping - as we were staying for two nights we were an after thought. The reception staff were lovely and went some way to redeeming the other staff who we found rude and made us feel like an inconvenience. Manchester has far better hotels to offer at better prices. This was a treat for my friend and I as we were meeting family and going to see Michael Buble... of course he didn’t disappoint!!
Modern light airy room, great bathroom facility ( huge thick bath towels). Massive comfortable bed. Crisp white fresh linen. Table and two comfy chairs, TV has many choices. Good check in/out times. Everything spotlessly clean. Will definitely use again after a concert.
Never like to leave a disappointing reviews however always the exception. For £179 a night I expected more at least. True the hotel is in the northern quarter BUT it’s in the area that has not be regenerated and so it’s surrounded by building sites and a run down garage with dirty streets and graffitied walls. It didn’t feel safe. We’ve stayed in many Marriotts around the world and for this one that doesn’t stop boasting design and luxury it falls far short of many other hotels in the chain who charge half this price. On checking in online we were offered early check only to be inform very matter a factly that as they didn’t call us it wasn’t available so come back at 3 ! Staff were very off hand and on returning at 3 queues were almost out the door with 1 member of staff at reception the other was on the phone. The Manager asked a member of staff in the back office to go out and heard her say she didn’t want to ! It’s 4 star looks great but has no care. You never felt as if they wanted you there. Breakfast is £10 a person and looked run of the mill buffet so we found a great restaurant near by instead. There’s no one available to take luggage to the rooms I was told they were short staffed and too busy. Def not 4 star for service Housekeeping staff were also rude to my husband as he tried to use the lift with our suitcases - they were cleaning it - he was told to use the stairs !! At the busiest check out time !!! Be prepared not to have a bath in your bathroom, having a frosted see through door and a toilet squashed behind the door. Never going back and its very poor compared with its vision system and others in the Group.
