Novotel Manado Golf Resort & Convention Center4.0 out of 5.0

I transit through manado fairly regularly and the Novotel is my ‘go to’ hotel. It’s fairly close to the airport - maybe 15 minutes in a taxi ( around 40000 rupiah). The hotel is within the grounds of a golf course complex and is a couple of hundred metres off the road - so its nice and quiet and away from the hubbub of the streets. Check in is quick, efficient and friendly, the rooms are large and comfortable, quiet with good air conditioning. Wifi is free and pretty good. The showers have those controls where you can dial in the temperature - I couldn’t get mine to go beyond 40 degrees which was pretty cool but considering the heat and humidity I could put up with it. The restaurant serves tasty Indonesian cuisine, there is a pool and a basic gym. You can grab the hotel car to get you back to the airport (around 110000 rupiah)
I spent 2 nights, a week apart, in the Novotel Manado. I did not use the golf course, convention center or pool but through Trip Advisor, I got a rate of $39 a night with free buffet breakfast. The room had 2 beds and a large bathroom, air-conditioning, TV, free WiFi and a phone. It was very quiet, had black-out curtains and was quite comfortable. The buffet breakfast was amazing-anything you could possibly want and all you could eat. I didn't have to have lunch after eating there.
Went there for dinner buffet. The food was great beyond my expectation, compared to other hotels in Manado (its hard to find food with good hotel standard quality in Manado). The food varies from : Salads bar Seafood, chicken & veggie skewers table Pasta Roasted beef & chicken stalls fruit skewers Dessert tables and .... Free flow beer for 1 hour (7-8pm if i'm not rong) we love how the staff served us during the dinner. Friendly & helpful all the time. unfortunately, it was raining & windy last night, some food tables (esp skewers tables) got wet & the plates collect rain water & immerse the tip of the skewers. since the main restaurant was under renovation, the staff only have limited space to move the tables just few meters away from the raining area. but overall... We love having dinner there... and will come again next time.
Stayed here for a little over 3 weeks and a great experience. Hotel staff was very helpful with good English. Helped us navigate though manado with places to go and recommending places to eat. Room was very clean comfy. Restaurant is very good with quick service.
I stayed there with a large group of Americans. The staff there was very accommodating and were always quick to help in any way. They often told us sites to see, places to eat and experiences to have in Indonesia. The breakfast was great and had a wide variety whether it was local food or traditional western dishes. The lunch and dinner menu was extensive and very cheap. The managers, waiters and bar staff were amazing! I recommend this place to anyone staying in the Manado area
As they say, "location, location, location!" The real beauty of and value in Novotel is it's setting and location. My husband and I stayed at Novotel for two nights during a whirlwind tour of Indonesia in February and March of 2018. We found the hotel comfortable, the staff polite and the price very reasonable. But what I will most certainly remember the hotel for is "location". First, it was very convenient to the airport. Since we were arriving close to midnight, keeping the airport-to-hotel travel short was fairly important. But second, and perhaps more memorably, the grounds and setting were (as I'm sure you can tell from the pictures) just beautiful! The view from the pool area was stunning and breakfast on the patio under a blue sky could take your breath away. We had breakfast at their buffet the first morning of our stay and found the buffet substantial and the food tasty. On the second morning, the morning of our departure, we were leaving before the buffet was opened but they kindly offered to put together a take-away box with some bread, fruit and juice so we could have breakfast on the road. (Neither the buffet nor the take-away were included with our room purchase so they were extra.) Both my husband and I can certainly recommend the hotel and will likely stay there again in future when we return to Manado. A few things to note: First, this isn't a new hotel. It's clear efforts have been made to keep it looking fresh but it is starting to show it's wear. So, while I don't by any means want to imply it's "run down", you should expect to see a few wrinkles here and there and, as always, remember, this is a tropical environment in a developing nation. Second, we either had some miscommunication about outbound local calls or the hotel's policy on phone charges seems a little unusual. When we arrived at the airport we had made arrangements with the hotel to be picked up since we knew in advance we wouldn't have any Indonesian currency and we wanted to make sure we weren't stranded without funds at midnight. Unfortunately, something didn't go to plan because no pick-up arrived for us. (The hotel did apologize sincerely for this mix up when we arrived and it appeared to be an issue with the driver, not the hotel.) After about thirty minutes of waiting at the airport with, unfortunately, no means to contact the hotel, a very nice taxi driver offered to drive us on good faith that we would connect with him sometime over the next two days to pay up once we had converted some currency. He left us with his number which being a local number, we tried to call multiple times from our room without success; the line didn't ring. My husband went to the front desk and they offered to try for him and at the desk were able to get a ring tone but the line was busy. Long story short, after trying a few more times from the room and then again from the front desk, we were finally able to connect with our local good Samaritan and pay him for his good deed. At check-out, though, we found all of the call attempts, including the ones that did not ring, were included on our bill. The amount charged per call was very small and, due to time constraints, (it was 5 a.m. and our taxi was waiting to take us to the airport for our 6:30 a.m. flight) we didn't attempt to discuss with hotel management. As mentioned previously, neither issue would make us inclined not to stay again with Novotel. Overall, the experience was positive and we would recommend it. Likely the only thing we'd do differently is ensure we had Indonesian currency before arriving in the country.
This hotel is near to the airport just 5 minutes drive , very beautiful atmosphere of green garden clean air ambient justside of golf course walking distence to big shopping mall as well as big super market, the staff are helpfull and good english , room are big , breakfast varieties are ok. I recommend this hotel and will come back again when visit Manado
We visited this hotel twice in our last trip to Indonesia. On our first visit we were so disappointed. It was the night after the Chinese new year and the outside tables around the bar and pool were dirty, the pool had green algea growing, cigaret buts on the floors every where, the room we were allocated was in need of a goclean. Cobwebs on the ceilings, the shower tiles were mouldy and the room next door had a party going till 2am despite our complaints to management. For some reason we had tea and coffee but no creamer? The were no soaps and toileties or toilet paper...only tissues. So we were dreading our return visit, on our way out of Manado, we wish to thank Citra from the reception area, on handling our request for a quite, clean room. Thank you for the welcoming fruit platter. We are very pleased to report that the room was much cleaner, there were toiletries and toilet paper. Still no creamer for coffee in the room ? Where is all the creamer going to? The public areas at the bar and pool were clean . The shower areas need the mould removed and the stair wells need a good deep clean and chipped tiles need replacing. Breakfast was very good even for us vegetarians. The dinning menue lacks vegetarian dishes. We would be happy to try this hotel again, avoiding the Chinese new year time.
It is very close to the airport, the hotel is clean and welcoming. The food both for breakfast and dinner is pretty good. The location is strategic since government made the ringroad. Overall its one of the best hotels in manado.
Stayed one night on way home to Singapore from Sorong. 10 min drive from airport. Lobby sparkling clean and beautiful. Entire staff friendly with every single person saying hello or good morning. Restaurant on site served excellent dinner with wide food and drink selection. Wine was limited, though, to one red choice despite several listed on drink menu. Breakfast buffet was mostly Asian food and quite good. Rooms were clean but somewhat dated and musty. Mattress in our room needed replacement. Grounds well landscaped and tended, nice for a walk. Infinity pool overlooks golf course and made for great swim before leaving for airport.
