Overall the hotel... you really cannot call this a Resort... is disappointing. The living area of the one bedroom apartment has no natural light and the furnishings extremely shabby. The one saucepan was burned black and unusable. No kitchen knives, poor quality washing up liquid. No channels to watch on tv... and I mean NONE. Fridge was smelly and faulty and a replacement made the next day but no flap on freezer compartment. All a tad Fawlty Towers. Plus points - the beds are super comfy and the linens very good quality as are the towels. Shampoo, shower gel and soap provided is all adequate. Bathroom is extremely clean and cleaned every day. Rooms serviced every day and bed linen changed every 3rd day. Cleaning staff and Lillian at reception friendly and helpful. Sea View? Yes... but only if you look straight ahead... very ugly buildings below and building work from dawn till dusk as well as a very yapping dog who clearly doesn’t appreciate being on its own all day. Most restaurants around very expensive but there are convenience stores close by. The hotel bar is never open so drinks and coffees never available in the fairly decent foyer. No meeting place to chat with your fellow holidaymakers is disappointing. Still to find the Spa which apparently is ‘across the road’... no signs. Very average... Unless budget is the most important aspect of your holiday, don’t consider this hotel. Would I stay here again? A resounding no.
Very clean and fresh decor throughout the establishment. A generously sized one bedroom apartment which could comfortably sleep four with a sofa bed in the living area. The kitchen area is very clean and tidy with ample utensils, crockery and cutlery, a fridge , oven and hob. The bathroom also very clean and modern compared to other establishments in the area. A shower over the bath working perfectly with good water pressure and decent hot water. Good quality towels. The bedroom is perfectly adequate with a good sized double bed, clean sheets and comfy pillows. My only complaint is the bedroom wall is adjacent to the corridor and it can be noisy early in the morning.
Had a week break in January and from check in to check out the staff were fantastic friendly and helpful. We had 2 two apartments a very large one bedroom over looking the front and a two bedroom with views over the sea from the side. The two bedroom was a slightly strange layout with no windows in the lounge only the bedrooms but it was very nice with everything you needed and more. The location was good with a few bars and good restaurants very near and the busy area about 10 min walk. There was plenty of parking in the area for the hire car. We can not thank Dave (the maintenance man of the hotel) enough , he helped us with a flat tyre when we discovered the Jack missing the hire company didn't want to know and it was our last day so needed the car to get back to the airport. Like all the staff Dave was super friendly and helpful and a credit to the hotel. The outdoor pool looked lovely and the only indoor pool was very nice. The only bad point for us was the fact the bar and restaurant were closed as it was off season, which is fair enough but should have been made aware of this when booking (we were half board) meals were served in a very nice sister hotel The Seahells just up the road. We booked a hotel on half board with a bar as on of the party is disabled and has trouble walking even short distances lol!
I am an arrogant nasty Executive Chef with a very aggressive approach to ignorance on duty.....whether it be a kitchen or a hospital, However! My Life was put on hold when I arrived at the hotel.......The Staff were FANTASTIC im never lost for words but iam now you have to visit this hotel to feel what I felt .......Thankyou Chef Danny McDonnell Executive Chef Liverpool Football Club and im a changed man .....
We stayed here for 2 nights just a short escape looking for some winter sun. Customer service was excellent. Lillian was very welcoming and helpful. We were upgraded to a sea view 1 bedroom apartment free of charge. The room was very spacious, clean and had a sea view. The apartment was located opposite ocean basket and other resturants and shops. The hotel was a short walk to Malta Aquarium possibly 15 minutes. I would recommend this hotel I didn't have chance to check out the pool/gym but I'm sure they are great too.
The property is located in some 30 minutes’ drive from the airport, and the location itself is very good due to its proximity to the sea, the nearby bus stop, etc. We were slightly disappointed to see that both the hotel restaurant and bar are closed. On the other hand, the apartment is well equipped with kitchen utensils and things you possibly need to cook your own meals; coffee maker and microwave are not included in the standard package, yet you just have to ask and they will be provided without any fuss and for free. There are several decent restaurants in the vicinity; our favourable and one of the closest was Littoral right opposite the main entrance. Alas, it was soon closed to be reopened on 14th February. As to shops, there are plenty minimarkets and couple of supermarkets on the main street; you just have to turn left and cross the road to reach them in couple of hundred meters. One of the closest minimarkets specialises on Bulgarian food. If you venture deeper in the maze of streets you will find the Trolees supermarket, which is way bigger. As Malta is such a small island you can reach all destinations by busses, even if they may be overcrowded. You pay EUR 1.50 to the driver and the ticket is valid for 2 hours. The hotel features a beautiful pool area, but in January it was too cold to bathe, so we stuck to the indoor pool, which is small, yet nevertheless a good addition and works until 8.30 p.m. No sauna or hamam, though, which would be great during the winter season. Another positive thing was free WiFi not only in the lobby, but also in rooms. And the maid service was absolutely impeccable, as good as it gets. So, all-in-all a good choice, if you go to Malta.
Start with the positives: large one bedroom apartment, clean, pleasant Staff.....it ends there unfortunately. Negatives: woken every morning between 06:00 and 07:00 to what felt and sounded like someone was drilling through our room wall...it took a few days to establish the noise was actually from the lift shaft (we were in room 703). The staff pleaded ignorant to there being an issue and on check out they claim there was an offer to move us which was never communicated to ourselves. I fail to believe that we are the only ones to complain but according to the receptionist we are....until you see the other reviews!!! Bedroom comfort was appalling. The sofa bed shaped like a banana with a mattress two thumb widths deep simply isn’t good enough and the mattress in the bedroom was brick hard. The pool facilities are not family friendly. Far to restrictive only allowing children under 16 in between the hours of 07:00-09:00 and 16:00-18:00!!!! I’m not sure what these hotels expect families to do in mixed weather conditions with young kids but even if the pool was empty you still got kicked out with children outside of the above times. Bar....what bar as it was never open! View...yes very nice but never see the sun on your balcony due to the way this hotel faces All in all we did not allow this hotels failings to spoil our holiday as Malta is a stunning island full of beautiful people and things to do but the Qwara Palace and the Seashells by Suncrest just over the road provide a much better option for accommodation if this is the resort you wish to find yourself in. I would not recommend this hotel
Just awful the room we stayed in the first night was right by the lift that was going up and down all night. The fridge was broken and hummed all night and the windows didn't fit properly so blew in the wind, also the bath fittings were very rusty and the bed was uncomfortable We did ask to be moved the next day and had to pay an extra 50 Euros which was fine but I really don't think that we should have been charged as they had to get someone in to try and fix the problem. I would definitely not reccomend this hotel.
We arrived 29/12/2017 - 5/1/2018 we were early my two children 13 &14 and I ( mum) - we were told they would try and get the room ready and we could store our luggage whilst we looked around the spa and pool across the car park and had a light lunch locally . Indoor pool is small but very pleasant in winter - not expecting the weather to be warm enough to swim outdoors. We arrived back at three and were given our room on the 6th floor 605 - massive /clean and what a view !!! - we could have happily stayed the week just looking out of the balcony window !! - the staff always very friendly and helpful- we rented a car from the airport and only used it once to go to Gozo - the bus stop is right outside and very frequent far more convenient than trying to find a parking space- and of course you can have that glass of local wine with lunch!! Not to be missed !! We went to Valletta New Year’s Eve !! Gozo and mdina all not to be missed . Thank you sunny coast resort and spa - our trip to Malta was memorable and you made it that for all the right reasons . :-)
The beds where extremely uncomfortable and the sofa bed was like a bed of nails that’s naturally wrapped itself around it victim like a burrito. Apart from the ugly furniture which is to be expected and the extremely uncomfortable beds and sofas the hotel was fine, we had a good view of the ocean, the bathrooms where of a decent size and one bedroom had on ensuite, however in between the two bedrooms is a ridiculous pit going from the top of the building to the bottom which managed to turn a small breeze into a hurricane inside the bedrooms, as well as being pretty unsafe as he window opens up wide and being a long fall to the ground, as well as a nasty smell rising from the depths of this giant pit
