We had a two bedroom sea view apartment the view was brilliant. The apartment had all you need for self catering although we ate out every night, there are plenty of good restaurants close by,we found all the staff in the restaurants very nice. We didn't have much to do with the staff at hotel but the staff on reception were always pleasant and helpful. The pools and sea are just across the road from the hotel. The hotel is clean and you can have your room cleaned every day if you want. I would use this hotel again.
We had a one bedroom apartment facing the sea and it was all we hoped for. Well equipped and minor problems were sorted immediately without fuss. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel well positioned for local amenites. There was a bus stop outside the complex and buses to everywhere. Pool facilities were shared but never busy and enough sunbeds for all. Highly recommended.
Lucky enough to have spacious sea view apartment. The apartment slept four, however, two would have been on a sofa bed in the lounge area. I do not agree with this 'squeezing in' additional occupancy. Kitchenette provided all that would be needed for a self catering holiday. We dinned in the ground floor restaurant, breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was fine but I found the evening menu boring. Next time, I would go bed and breakfast to make the most of the local restaurant and bar experience. Beach, pool area etc, all very well maintained.
The location is great. The sea is just across the road. Spacious apartments with lots of kitchen appliances, cookery, cluttery etc. Super and mini markets are within easy reach and the restaurants nearby are very good ( Ocean basket- amazing , Cheeky monkey- great cocktails and yet again very family friendly, don't bother with the cafe next door ( Chaplin)-worse coffee ever. Bus stop right outside the hotel and the main bus station is only a 15 minute walk. However, we had a couple of issues which I believe were badly addressed or rather NOT addressed at all by the hotel: 1. Indoor pool: be aware that the indoor pool has a policy of no kids most of the time! expect from 8-10 am and 4-6 pm. There is NO information about this on the Booking.com website and unfortunately the unhelpful members of staff passed the blame onto booking.com. We asked to speak to the duty manager in various occasions but they never bothered to get back to us and it was always down to the receptionist to keep arguing that it wasn't their fault. As far as Booking.com is concerned, they base their advertising on the information that hotels provide them with. If given such information, they would have provided it! They don't omit information nor they provide false advertisement. As a family with 2 kids( and visiting Malta at the beginning of May, when the hot weather is not guaranteed, we booked this hotel especially for its indoor pool so the kids would be able to use a pool in case of bad weather. I am now aware that most spas have restrictions for children, but my argument was that THIS INFORMATION SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF BOOKING, so the costumer can make informed choices. We were not expecting them to bend the rules for us and allow the kids in the pool but the fact that the hotel did not want to take any responsibility for it and totally ignored our complain was very off putting, frustrating and disappointing. The other issue we had was with the airport pick-up. We booked a private taxi transfer through the hotel. Instead, we were picked-up by a minibus and had to make various stops to drop-off more guests at other hotels. We were charged ( by the hotel) the full private taxi transfer fee , obviously. But then again, the unhelpful and a bit arrogant members of staff blamed the taxi company and reassured us that they had requested a private transfer ( again , not their fault)! And seemed not to give a dime and could not be bothered to follow that up with the taxi company! Once the money is taken off you, it becomes somebody else's fault! Not theirs. As I said, if you are lucky enough not to have any issues, then it could be a fantastic stay at Sunny Coast but if you do have an issue, prepare to be ignored and treated dismissively!
We spent 3 night at the hotels apartment with our friends. The apartment was on the 7th, top floor, so our view at the sea was pretty nice. We did not have much interaction with the staff, check in and out ant thats it. Tha apartment was nice, no complaints. The area surrounding the hotel is not the best type of coastal stralling areas, but there are a few good restaurants. The pool area of the hotel is good.
Ideal location for our holiday to Malta! Hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly! (Especially Simona - I think was the lady's name - on reception and the maintenance man who kindly chopped the broken lock off my suitcase!) Easy walk to Bugibba for a little more livliness in an evening. Plenty of restaurants nearby and short walk to Qawra point. Bus stop nearby that will take you to most places of interest. Also a special thank you to the hotel who left a lovely bottle of wine in the apartment for my birthday, and also a room upgrade to a larger apartment. Really special touch. We didn't use the pool much but seemed lively but not too busy. Hotel in general was clean and well kept. Would recommend this hotel. Picture of us beautiful view from our sea view apartment.
Very good hotel, staff are nice, hotel is super clean and nice, quite and has swimming pool. its very cheap and on the main road and you can reach by bus , Its very good over all. I will definitely go back there.
I arrived on Saturday for my annual visit, my apartment was great, new bed new furnishings,new curtains, looks like a new television & WI-FI in the room rather than having to go down to the lobby as in previous years. I am sure the lighting is better & everything was spotlessly clean a wonderful way to start my holiday. Only one problem could not get the bedside clock to stop flashing, maintenance man came up, said it was broken & arrived with a brand new clock & set it up for me. Although a lot of changes in the staff from last year, which I was a bit worried about as I had got to know many of them very well, I need not have been concerned, I am about to make many new friends & everyone new & old have certainly made Sunny Coast the place to visit in Malta The pool area is great as usual with new sunbeds in fact no complaints at all, I do think that the new operations manager, Matthew, has done wonders in the short time he has been at Sunny Coast
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment. the kitchen lounge area was very good,the bedroom was nice, big bed it was just disappointing because of the layout of the room that there was just a very small window, We had a fantastic sea view we were also on the 7th (Top) floor if we hadnt had a seaview I would have changed hotels.The pool in all the holiday pictures does not show it is across the road and not part of the hotel you have to have a card to get in but saying that once you went in it was really well kept had a nice eating area (no cocktails) but maybe we went early in the season?but hot & cold drinks & food basic stuff but nice.staff very nice. Hotel staff were very helpful.
Visited Malta for a long weekend break. Having reviewed several hotels in the area the Sunny Coast Resort and spa seemed to offer everything that one would look forward to in a 4 star hotel. This has sadly not turned out to be true! To be balanced here are the pro's Centrally located , Decent wi- fi , Nice and well kept pool area, entrance area is pleasant and modern. The hotel as I understand it is undergoing some refurbishment , however this was not alluded to during the booking process. I booked one of the studio apartments, which as I now understand are either located facing the road or the back of the building. I was in the latter- my view consisting of a rather worn down version of the hotel- walls , pipes etc... so much for the sea view as advertised! The room itself is reasonably sized and clean , however it too is old , worn and not a place you'd hang out in too long. We asked for an upgrade and told there was nothing, but to come back the following day .... and again nothing. Given the amount of people I've seen travel through I'm pretty sure that there are alternative rooms free! Other niggly things- room which can hold 4 people had towels for 1 ( there were 2 of us) we didn't get a second set until the following day. The safety deposit box in the room is small- and you have to pay 2 euros per day upfront to use it. The remote controls for the TVs have to be requested at reception - didn't bother asking how much they cost. So, here's my advice, when booking clarify you want the newer part of the building.In my opinion while the hotel is fine it is not of 4 star quality , so if that's what you're looking for ..... this is not for you!
