All seemed good until the cleaners throw away everything that wasn’t in our cases. Complained to reception and they basicly didn’t give a s ** t. Considering we lost about £200 worth of belongings it was very frusting. The pool was ok but you can’t have fun as you will be told to stop. So defiantly not ideal for children. They over charge you for taxis so book it your self not through them. All the views are rubbish and was told we can have a sea view but when arrived we was told it would be extra. Over all my exceptions weren’t high for the apartments, but did expect better communication with the staff. Very disappointed wouldn’t go back.

I recently spent a few nights staying at Sunny Coast Resort and Spa, and unbelievable is the only word too describe how this hotel is run, after having items stolen from our room by the maids the management started getting aggressive when we politely asked why our table had been cleared and if he could try and get our belongings back to us, he stood up out of his chair and made the girls feel scared as he waved his fists around, shortly after this we felt so scared and uneasy we headed back to our room, literally about 5 minutes later he came and knocked on our door, barged in the room and carry on shouting at us, at this point we hadn’t had an apology from ANYONE regarding our missing belongings(we never did get an apology may I add) and to top it off half of the hotels facilities advertised when booking were closed, the hygiene was horrific, the decor’s dated and they seem to have people building outside at all hours.

The hotel is very clean and convenient. We liked the apartment style setup. Unfortunately, the outdoor pool is across the road at another part of the property - there is NO beach. It overlooks the water but not accessible to swim. Do not get a room overlooking the road. The traffic goes all night long and when we were there the heat was on not the AC. We couldn't sleep due to lack of circulating air and complained to be moved to a higher floor facing the water. Slept much better. Overall nice little hotel. Relaxing and clean. Seafood restaurant was delicious - just across the street from hotel. Grocery store down the street about a 5 minute walk.

We recently spent 2 weeks in our timeshare apartment which we visit annually. We have a 2 bedroom, sea facing apartment which is spacious and has everything we need. There are many new faces at the hotel but we were welcomed by lovely Lillian at reception who was as efficient and friendly as usual. There have been some improvements in the apartment - huge beds, new settee and chair and wifi in the apartment. The balconies have recently been altered and no longer have bars but clear panels on the exterior. These are lovely, but do look marked after rain. There is no restaurant, at the moment, inside the hotel but the pool bar was open for food and drinks. Although you don`t have to go far outside of the hotel to find lots of places to eat and drink.

The common areas of this hotel are nice and clean. We were there Easter week and the a lot of the amenities were not yet open - no dining room (although there is a sister hotel across the road and down a bit where you can eat at reasonable rates it seemed to me, although we didn't eat there as there are plenty restaurants to chose from down that strip of road) and no bar. The pool opened three days after we arrived and is a nice clean area. Has a nice gym. Make sure that you get a front facing room as the rooms at the back of the hotel are like a cave. Very clean and the staff are as helpful as they can be.

This is NOT a fancy hotel - in fact, our apartment had a slightly retro feel. But the staff were great; we requested a sea-view room and not too close to the elevator and got that. The housekeeping staff kept our rooms very tidy and most of all, there was a lot of SPACE for us. The furniture and kitchen were in good condition and with our 2 bedroom apartment, we actually had an unanticipated ensuite with the master bedroom, so 2 full bathrooms. I agree that there are not windows with lovely views in the bathrooms or bedrooms. (Please do your research, people - you can read reviews from past travellers.) For the price we paid during Easter break, I think this was a gem. Thank you, Pauline, for all of the help you gave us before and during our trip. We would stay there again.

We have just returned from a week at the Sunny Coast Resort & Spa. On arrival to the 2-bed apartment I noticed the lack of windows, i.e. the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom window looked out onto a wall, preventing any natural light entering the room. The other bedroom had a balcony which overlooked a building site. I asked if we could move and were not accommodated for 3 days as “there were no other 2-bed apartments available .” On the 3rd day we moved to an apartment which had a sea view from the sitting room/kitchen. However, this apartment also had the same window issue in the bedrooms and bathroom. The apartment itself was shabby and dated. The towels were threadbare and well past their sell-by date! I had to ask on a number of occasions to have the room serviced, which was supposed to be done daily. I had a sick child for those first three days and as it was the Easter weekend there were no pharmacies open to get Calpol for my daughter. The staff at the hotel reception offered no help, which made the event even more stressful. This hotel certainly does not deserve the four stars it has, it was no better than a hostel! The area itself was very dirty and unkempt. There were many derelict and half-built buildings in the area. There were rubbish bags on a lot of the streets and dog dirt on all the pavements. I never wish to return to that area of Malta again.

The Sunny Coast resort is lovely. We were slightly out of season so weather was mixed. Apartment was well layed out and kept spotless by housekeeping. Pool and gym well equipped and pleasant area. Good facilities and friendly helpful staff.

We’ve just come back from a superb week at Sunny Coast Hotel. The Room was absolutely wonderful, with a lovely sea view- it was also cleaned every day. The Staff at Reception were very welcoming & helpful (especially Lillian). The Pool area and indoor pool were great, our kids had a ball & didn’t want to leave! Furthermore, the location was central to all amenities, restaurants and the bus stop (to most spots on the Island) was directly outside, which was very handy. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back. Thanks Sunny Coast, you were awesome:)

We spent a week here with our two teenage children. We had a two bedroom apartment which was comfortable and clean. The living area and one bedroom had no natural light as the windows overlooked the wall of the next room making those rooms rather stuffy. I can only imagine how hot it must get in summer! Fans or air conditioning would definitely help. The other bedroom had a balcony overlooking the road which was a little noisy but not too bad. Beds were comfortable and we generally slept well. The kitchen area is adequate to make tea and toast but not much more. There is a distinct lack of basic equipment such as a chopping board. A microwave would also have been a welcome addition. This wasn’t a huge problem for us as we ate out a lot but if you want to prepare your own meals it would be a bit of a struggle. The hotel location is great, near the seafront and plenty of restaurants and shops. There is a bus stop right outside with buses to Valletta and several other places. It is about 15 minutes walk to Bugibba which has plenty more restaurants and bars. The pool area is lovely, well kept and clean. We also enjoyed the indoor pool. During the hours when young children are allowed in it was very busy, but at other times it was much quieter. Overall we enjoyed our stay and had a lovely holiday in a great location.
