This hotel is not on the strip, and that's a good thing. Being 100-150 meters from the beach, it's also protected from the noise in the summer. Because Ballermann is a noisy place in the season. In March it's quiet, also the hotel is quiet. I do like the hotel. I like the food, the staff, the bar area, outdoor pool and sun deck. Only reason this not get a full score, is because some of the rooms need restauration. But it's clean, nice size and a balcony. I can't complain on anything given the price in March.
Nice hotel, very good rooms and bad room. Good bed, en silents rooms. Good breakfast and a nice view; Also not for from the cafes and shops. Close to the beaches and you can had a nice walk in the sun, so this is vacation.
When I read the reviews after booking I was a little nervous but it was well without reason. The Hotel was great, staff very pleasant and the food good. The hotel does cater for the German Market mainly and in fact I was the only English person there but I had an excellent time. My German is non existent however I was taken under the wing of a German lady called Sabina and throughly enjoyed myself. The fact that Sabina has been on there for 4 weeks for the last 36 years says it all really. Don't go thinking your going to get roast beef and yorkshires though, the food was varied and a lot better than some of the restaurants in Cala Millor where I have stayed in the past. There was a good choice they never ran out. The gardens were lovely and there is an indoor pool as well. I would definitely go again although I might be pushing it to been Sabina's 36 years on a trot.
I stayed in Palma from 14 to 18 of August 2016 with my girlfriend. The Hotel Mac Paradiso Garden is located in Playa de Palma, at about 300 mt from the sea and it is in the "german" side of Palma. It is well connected with the airport, by the line 21 bus, with the city centre of Palma by the lines 15 and 25, with the port by the 23 line. In that bus stop, there are also the line 530 that goes to Es Trenc and the line 454 to the Cuevas del Drach. The hotel has 2 swimming pools, uncovered and covered ones, a table tannis and a tennis court. At our arrival, the receptionist offered us 2 glasses of champagne. I asked the room in the highest floor in order to have a panoramic view of the sea from the balcony: it was so nice. The double room was quite big, had the bath tube, air conditioning, a LCD TV with only spanish and german channels. But the wifi in the room didn't work so well, instead of the common areas of the hotel. There were a lot of things for breakfast, with ham, eggs, bacon, salads, fruits and many other things. The dinner was usually variegated, with pasta, paella, meat, fish, side dishes, desserts and fruits depending on the days: almost everything was tasty. But we had to order drinks, that are not included. A special thanks goes to Angel, one of the man of the restaurant, that was so friendly and kind.
Awful hotel in pretty awful resort. Were placed here by Ryanair due to flight being cancelled to UK (French air traffic control at it again)! Having spent the previous few days in a beautiful hotel in Port Andratx with delicious food, it certainly was a culture shock at this place. We must have queued for over an hour to check in. A couple in front were given room keys to a room that was already occupied. Not once but 3 times. Unbelievable. By the time it got to our turn, reception informed us and others still waiting, that they were running out of rooms. Finally given a room in completely separate block. 4 single beds in room. All the windows- there was no balcony- were covered in closed shutters and maybe that why the room was freezing. Colder than UK. A thin sheet and duvet barely covered the bed. Yes, there were blankets in the wardrobe but they looked as though they had been there since the hotel was built. The buffet food was dreadful. Never in a million years would I choose to stay here and if our flight is delayed again, I will pay to stay somewhere reasonably decent rather than be back here. May be OK for young Germans, but not us.
We came here and loved it. The food was good, the service staff was friendly, and it was in an excellent location. Very clean. Not really anything bad to say about it. Oh, and breakfast is from 8 to 1 in the afternoon, if I remember correctly! :)
Located far enough from the beach to avoid night noise. Complete braekfast included. No insulation in the walls, No showerhead. I was told it's always full because 70% recurring business. The address is not the front door adress, but the pool side. No wi-fi.
What a great hotel for Playa de Palma; close to the beach but off the main road so you don't hear the noisy partiers coming home at 2am. The rooms were nothing special but who's there to stay in the room; at least the A/C worked! The glass of cava at check-in was definitely a nice touch.
We stayed in this hotel in August 2013, firstly the Hotel looked very good from outside. With lot of greenary, outdoor pool, indoor pool and a big restaurant under the shades. The staff was also very friendly, though only few speak english. But were good in providing the service. The breakfast+brunch facility was very good, so no hurry at all to have food. The Hotel was very near to beach, just walked for few minutes. Personally, didn't find problem with music (may be good sleep after good time in beaches). Luggae storage facility was good. The staff was very good of taking our personal requests and making our occasion beautiful. The paradiso is no so paradise due to smelly Lifts, Wifi was dead slow (infact no Wifi in rooms), very small bathrooms and yes smelly as the ventillation was very bad in bathrooms. Pathways are dark, need good lilghting. Overall, the experience was good, but could have been better. Hope they work on it soon :)
We stayed in Mac Paradiso in August 2013 (3rd-11th) and it was even worse than we imagined. We booked 3 rooms (there were 6 of us), so we have a bit of statistics here:) Details: 1) Overall: Hotel is definitely in need of repairs- it looks like a motel from american films with awful old furniture trashed by guests. Towels are really old and unappealing, there were a couple of spiders living in our bathroom. Carpets in the halls have HUGE stains, which probably were there for ages- and there's a lot of them. 2) Guests: mostly young germans. And, no offence, but they were REALLY loud, especially, at 5AM, when they would come back from parties drunk and singing (honestly, had there been a proper soundproofing system (which obviously was absent), we might have still heard them... Asking the reception for assistance- useless, they suggested calling the police. 3) Conditioners: Smelled like sewage when working (thankfully, they were working at all!). Opening the balcony door at night - not helpful, loud germans from s.2 wouldn't let you sleep. 4) Wifi- In our rooms (158,058) it was absent due to a really crappy signal. Also, the wifi was always overloaded, i.e. you should do all your internet-related stuff either early in the morning or late at night. Again, when we asked reception what they can do to sort out the wifi, they first assured us that they regularly test the system and it definitely works (demonstrating us the already loaded webpage on their smartphone:))Secondly, they promised to talk to the engineer next Thursday (and we identified the concern on Sunday -very speedy service) 5) In one of the rooms there was a faulty phone. We asked reception to fix it - nothing has been done till the end of our stay. Disappointing yet predictable. A few good things: - Late breakfasts are convenient - Hotel has its own parking where you can leave a car - Hotel is relatively close to the beach Overall, we were really disappointed to receive such a service in a 3 star hotel in Europe. Normally, 3 star hotels are better.... Hope it helps someone to avoid booking this hotel unless the abovementioned does not scare you!:))
