We spent a week in Iberostar Playa de Muro Village in the beginning of September 2017. The hotel consists of several 2-storey blocks where the rooms are located, scattered among carefully kept lawns under majestic pines. The facilities are clean and well cared for. The food was very good, both in quantity, variety and quality. The hotel features a good range of restaurants (including access to the ones in the other Iberostar next door), although we stuck to the main buffet and the beach bar. The main swimming pool is conveniently located very close to the beach, which allows one to switch effortlessly between the pool and the sea. Water temperature was around 24C – i.e. what one would expect in the western Mediterranean in early September. The view from the beach is fantastic: a wide, sandy, curving bay between two rocky capes looming in the distance. The beach itself is great too: fine white sand and clear water, relatively shallow, and essentially waveless. At the time of our stay, guests were mostly older couples or families with very young children, as school had already begun in most countries. Everybody seemed to be having a great time. Last but not least, we’d like to praise the staff’s friendliness and professionalism. We’be been to many hotels, and very seldom have we benefited from such a high quality service. Top marks!
We have chosen this hotel because of the good coments we read on the internet. The truth is everything is true! The service is amazing, the food is amazing ... we cannot say anything negative. The only thing we think they can improve is the rooms. Anyway we had a great time !!! We will come definitelly!
I had great stay in this hotel. Loved the area, loved the way hotel is. And even if the hotel was fully booked, it was just the perfect amount of people. Beach is very nice, facilities are good and lots of activities. The room is definitely not a room of a 5 star hotel, even if all the rest is very nice. The food is definitely not like a 5 star hotel food as well. Those are my only complaints. For all the rest was great to me.
We had the best time in the hotel, everything was incredibly perfect and all the staff specially Esther took care of us, making us feel like home. I do recomend you to go. A little piece of heaven on earth in front of the sea, amazing hotel and professional staff.
Me and my partner had a wonderful stay. Staff is amazing, specially Esther and Anabel and, of course, Kati and all the bar staff! They made us feel like home. We will definitely come back next year!!!!
Had an amazing time. Excellent food and facilities, beautiful location and delightful staff. HOWEVER, there is little control over non residents using the pool, restaurants and other facilities. We saw them coming in from hotels nearby and the beach that backed onto the hotel. The staff and management had little interest and no control. Again, had a lovely time but would've been 5* if there were no non residents using the facilities WE had paid for.
A beautiful location, excellent accommodation and food, delightful staff, BUT, and it is a big but, there is very little control over non residents using the pool and other facilities. We saw them daily coming in from the beach and neighbouring hotels, management had little interest and staff no control. It is a 5* hotel at 5* prices and we resented such intrusion.
We stayed for a week as a family. While the hotel location is great, the food from the buffet at diner very enjoyable and the staff generally very helpful, this hotel is in need of refurbishment if it wants to continue to claim to be a 5-star hotel. At 500+ euros per night for half-board, the furniture is tired, plugs are coming off the walls, soundproofing is very poor and doors are difficult to open/close. As mentioned the diner buffet is good, great even some days, but breakfast needs improving in variety and freshness (too many dishes from the night before clearly reappear in the morning). Finally, staff seem incapable of dealing with problems/unhappy customers (and I'm not talking about just myself as I have witness other guests face the same responses for other issues). No apologies offered just "what do you want us to do?" And "do you want to speak to the regional manager or the director?". No, I'm on holiday and paying good money for that so why don't you! This is a good hotel and a nice place for a beach & pool holiday but definitely not a 5-star resort. I also have a problem with the false advertising on Iberostar's website of the possibility to choose your room online. It won't happen as it doesn't work. You have to call the hotel to ask kindly if they can set aside the room you want for you (and they don't guarantee they can keep it). We paid for the highest rate (superior family) based on the locations of the room on the hotel plan online. None of the rooms listed were available for our stay when I called the hotel. In the end, we had a premium location as we were facing the sea, but we were sandwiched between the pool, the stage and the next door hotel. Needless to say, difficult to make small children sleep before 11pm when they finally switch it all off.
Wonderful holiday was had by all our family, good food and drink, comfy rooms and excellent weather. Thank you too Marlena, Tony Julia, and Juanma,Paco,Hose and not forgetting Esther and all the helpful staff at the Hotel who made our stays exceptional; we will be back. The Iberostar rock band were fantastic; we would have liked to have seen more of them in the evening entertainment. Our family consisted of 3 generations and there is something for all to do. Julia, Mike and family
Well located by the beach, new, clean facilities and good food quality. We took the all in formula and we're pleased with the food variety, availability and the drinks selection. Chairs and umbrellas on the beach are not included but beach towels are available.
