HM Jaime III Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

Recently home after a 4 night Jet2 break with my 2 closest girlfriends! We booked a triple room and were more than happy with the size, cleanliness and comfort! Breakfast food selection was excellent although replenishment was slow and space was at a premium for the number of guests stopping at the hotel. The staff were mostly very helpful and friendly and location was great for absolutely everything! My reasons for 4* rather than 5 are as follows.......no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms which in my opinion is a major minus! To be told when checking out that we could have requested a kettle etc; just isn't good enough! We should have been informed of this at check in....or better still they should be in the rooms as a matter of course. One night we returned back to discover we'd been left no clean towels, and another night no toilet roll. Little things....but they shouldn't happen. We ate at the hotel our 1st night and 2 out of 3 of us were extremely disappointed with our main meal. The staff however handled our complaint extremely well and to our satisfaction with coffees and limoncellos on the house! We had no issues with either the lift or noise! Would most definitely return to this hotel on any future visit to Palma, and just as a final point.....there are a few reviews on here stating a taxi to and from the airport is 30€! I'm not altogether sure where that comes in as we paid fractionally over 20€ each way for 3 of us complete with our luggage and there is a fixed price taxi list on display at the airport!
The hotel is clean with friendly staff located near the old city but also on a short taxi ride from the golf courses just outside Palma. The breakfast buffet is good with fresh fruit etc. The only downside is the one elevator that is to slow for a hotel with the number of floors and rooms they have.
We visited Palma late April and the weather was very good. The hotel was good and the reason I give it 3 stars is for the following reasons which are personal and should not affect your choice. We were on a Jet 2 break for a week and paid significantly for a balcony with a city view. To me that meant a room with a view of the city. However because of the position of the hotel - the view is a street view of apartments across the road - not what I had assumed from the literature. Beware of assumptions!!! To add insult to injury on departure the reception asked us to pay for the upgrade to a balcony for which we had already paid. Fortunately we had kept our booking forms to prove we had already paid. I did not appreciate the discussions and checks made by reception. That said the hotel is well placed, clean with a good breakfast and good wifi. Apart from the issue on leaving the staff were helpful and pleasant. There is no need to book transfers from airport as the line 1 bus from the airport stops right outside the hotel and cost 5 Eu each. It is regular every 15 minutes. We visited Soller and Porto Soller by train- these are both nice places - but to be honest at a cost of 32 Eu each for train and tram in hindsight I would have got the bus. The tram for Soller to Porto Soller was like a rugby scrum getting on. That is only my opinion and you may well disagree. We also used the city tour bus - get the tickets at the hotel for a 50% discount. We bused to Magaluf for a visit and Arenal on separate days -buses are frequent so it is no problem. You can get buses and train from Placa Espanga - only 15 minutes from the hotel if you walk up Oms. We were bed and breakfast - so ate out. Palma is a city so you pay city prices which can be expensive - probably at least 50 Eu for two for 1 course and drinks. Frabrique Calle near the hotel offers a range of restaurants and there are a few on the same street as the hotel - so finding a restaurant near the hotel is no problem - but as I said be prepared to spend at least 50 Eu. We actually ate at the Hard Rock Cafe on the front and it proved good value compared to nearby restaurants. There is an excellent Indian just round the corner from the Hard Rock up a flight of stairs. Palma is a good visit and we were lucky enough to experience the Palma beer festival just across fro the Cathederal. The hotel was good and really rates an extra star - it was just I felt the balcony was expensive, but probably worth it if you want to sit out and have a G&T before bed LOL.
The location of the hotel is excellent within easy walking distance of most attractions. We upgraded to a room with a balcony which we enjoyed although obviously you are in the city centre so it is quite noisy We had 3 very good nights sleep, bed very comfortable if a little creaky, but there was absolutely no noise at all from outside. We were on the 7th floor and the lift was very slow and inadequate in size at busy times. Room was a good size and very clean. The towels were however well past their best and were grey and thin. Nice touch of free mini bar but tea and coffee would have been better for us. The fridge was quite big and was useful for cooling our water. Breakfast was good but as other people mention the dining area is quite small and the tables weren't cleared quickly enough after people left meaning you had to sometimes sit at a messy table. Personally not a fan of the black walls in the corridors which made the hotel seem quite claustrophobic but that's just a personal view. Nice outside seating area for drinks etc. I sound a bit negative but don't mean to be it is a good hotel. We would definitely stay here again if we visit Palma
A goog and gentle room, small shower but clean. Beds are are good. The elevator is very slow and outdated. Employees are very friendly and helpfull. Hotel is on walking distance of the old town. Breakfast is very complete.
A good hotel BUT, for 'we British' there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the bed room. Also, it lacks a swimming pool. However, bedrooms are very comfortable, well kept and quite immune to the noise of other guests (apart from inconsiderate door-bangers that you will get in any hotel in the world) and the traffic (great double-glazing), although if you want to sacrifice being on the first floor to save waiting for the somewhat inadequate lift, you won't get a balcony if facing front. Also, a very unusual set of bathroom provisions - no skin cream or box of tissues (you do get a small pack of three tissues) but a comb and shower cap! Nice touch is the fact the room bar contains complimentary soft drinks including a couple of fizzy pops and a beer. Breakfasts are excellent, although the facilities are far too small for the number of guests. And being there off-season, we were not too sure if this was why there were so few members of waiting staff on call, all of whom were continually run off their feet. Nevertheless, a very friendly hotel - staff were wonderful and helped in any way they could. And you couldn't wish for a better location.
Having stayed at Jaime hotel twice in the past I knew it was going to be great. Food as good but this time we noticed the Sunday self service buffet with free Cava and it was great and a real treat. The weather excellent and would come back in April again and again. We had 3 rooms but the reception couldn't get them beside each other but no big deal.
We arrived at the hotel pretty late at night so we were tired and not paying much attention, but still managed to be blown away by how pretty the hotel is and how comfortable our room was, slept every single night through the entire night like a baby, very comfy bed! Theres hot tub, sauna and steam room, we wanted to decompress one day after loads of walking and shopping and relaxing in the steam room was honestly such a good way to "reset" and relax. Initially we just chose the hotel because of the rave reviews regarding the location and how easy it is to walk to the main Cathedral and restaurant spots, but then once there we saw the value in everything else like the breakfast, restaurant, decor, etc etc.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was average with just a few things they could improve. The restaurant is very small considering the size of the hotel and does get very busy at breakfast time with every table being taken, Also the lift in the hotel is not adequate as you can wait quite a while to use it as with there being nine floors it does a have a high demand. The spa and gym facilities are also very small with only being a couple of exercise bikes and a jaccuzzi. The rooms are very well kept and the staff are friendly. Overall the hotel is good but could do with the above improving.
The entire hotel is a of a high standard, evident in the food, service, quality of bed sheets, and more. We stayed for 3 short nights and regret not booking for longer. Lots to do in walking distance, very scenic location. You dont encounter lots of hotels in Palma that have modern art and contemporary style, we thought it was a cool contrast to the city. Excellent choice for the money and the location.
