This could and should be a lovely place to stay. The hotel itself is located in a wonderful location and has a modern, clean and fresh feel. Overall we enjoyed our holiday, however, there were several issues which dampened our much looked forward to break. We booked fully inclusive and for the most part the food and drinks were plentiful with a vast selection. One of our party was a vegetarian and they struggled as the offerings were mainly fish and meat based. It would be nice to have something such as a pasta station which I believe would prove popular with most guests, not just vegetarians. On the first night of our stay several of the dishes were cold and the pizza was not cooked. This improved as our 3 night holiday continued and we particularly enjoyed the Spanish night. The drink options, for those fully inclusivie, on the face of it seemed great...however, we were very disappointed to find that we were offered cocktails and coffee out of a inferior machine that were super sweet, whilst watching others have delicious cocktails make with fresh ingredients and coffee from a sophisticated set up! However, the above pale into insignificance when it came to two male members of the bar staff. On our second night, my brother went to the bar to get drinks for the four of us. The barman made a mistake with one of the drinks, no big deal, except for when asked politely for the correct drink he became abusive and aggressive to the point where he invited my brother to meet him outside, when his shift finished, to sort it out physically! Immediately we went to reception to report this, they didn't seem too concerned which worried us immensely! We had observed this gentleman's rather flamboyant behavior dancing around guests and slapping his thighs during the live bad earlier and he seemed somewhat intoxicated. This did not seem appropriate behavior for a member of staff to us! The following evening, myself and my friend went to the bar where a different bartender was serving, he ignored us for sometime and then chose to serve another guest as they walked in from the terrace. Later on he continued to talk with another member of staff for a period of time, whilst we waited again for a drink (it seemed as if they were discussing us). We later saw and noted that he was like this to other guests - the common denominator being that we were all English! I would however like to acknowledge all of the other staff that were delightful, helpful, happy and friendly. It saddens me to think that the hotel could lose valuable guests and ratings where the problem in the main lies with these two individuals. I feel obliged to highlight these issues to other travelers, as had we been aware we would have likely stayed else where.
What a lovely hotel! I was on a short break to get some relaxation and good food. This hotel did not disappoint. Good location: On arrival, I travelled from the airport by taxi (€20 for 2 passengers). On departure, I travelled to the airport by bus (€5 per person) and the bus stops right outside the hotel! The hotel is right by the sea - perfect. There is also a bus service into the centre of Palma (€1.50). Good food: I booked half board. Breakfast was simply excellent. Dinner had a good range of food, with themed nights (e.g. Mexican, Spanish) with plenty of food options. Very nice indeed. Fabulous room: I booked a seaview room. It was well worth the extra money to have the view AND I had a full terrace! My friend was booked in a separate room which had a side-sea view over the pool and that room was very nice too. Bed was comfortable. Room and bathroom very clean. Refrigerator in the room. There was even a clock with iPhone docking station and USB connection - perfect for charging the phone and listening to music. There was an extra charge for the safe (€3 per day) and €10 deposit required for beach towels. Staff and service: All received with a smile. All questions answered. All very polite. Facilities: Rooftop pool was great. It has a nice ambience. Main pool was good with plenty of loungers (but it was winter so this was to be expected ...). Heated indoor pool was a good too. The hotel needs to improve its wifi though - the access and speed should be much better than it was given that the other facilities were all so good! Guests: The hotel was fully booked during my stay. A mixed clientle with plenty of cyclists which meant that the cyclists were out all day so the hotel never felt crowded. I'm booking this hotel again for a trip next year. So - if the Manager reads this, you have plenty of time to sort the wifi out before I'm back!
When we got to our room we didn't have any pillow case on our pillows, so we had to ask the cleaning lady for it. We told the receptionist that the air-condition and the refrigerator didn't work. A man came up and switched the refrigerator, he insisted that the air-condition was fine even tho he was sweating. We also saw the floor was dirty, with a lot of hair and toenails! We told the lady in the reception about that and after one hour a cleaning lady came to the room. She was cleaning the floor with a broom. She didn't understand English, or she didn't want to understand, so we could not tell her that the floor still was dirty and a lot of dirt. We had to swipe the floor with a wet towel so we could show the lady in the reception. She called the cleaning lady again! We didn't even bother the tell about all the smashed mosquitos on the wall. There is no lock on the balcony door, use the safe! There is no cleaning everyday, just making up the bed and gives new towels. We had a superior room, that is suppose to be 20 square meters, but it is really small. I guess to long hall to the room is included in this 20 meters. You can not be shy living in this room, there is a sliding door to the toilet, that is not leaving a lot for the imagination. If you want to have a sunbed by the pool, you have to be there before 8 in the morning. All of the sunbeds are reserved with towels. This is something the hotel could prevent by setting up rules for this. The rooftop was beautiful, but there is no umbrellas och shadow, so can not be there for long time. The breakfast is good with a lot of variety of bread and cheese. The location is nice, just by the beach. 2 euro for one glass of water by the pool.
We chose an water view room and it was a lovely view indeed! The room was good enough and the service every day was good. The hotel staff could have been a bit more friendly, at points sometimes coming off as rude. We did not do the all-inclusive package but still enjoyed the breakfast every morning and the drinks for purchase. Definitely buy drinks at the outside bar as it is much cheaper! The location was good for beach-goers and convenient to a bus stop to get into town. I would stay here again.
Brilliant location, right on the beach and promenade front. Straight out of the hotel and the whole promenade and beach front are open. The roof top pool area is outstanding and the views are awesome. Bar on the rooftop is closed out of top season, but that is understandable. The sun bathing is superb. Read some criticism of the lifts in the hotel being slow, bu I cannot say I found this to be the case, even though the hotel was very busy. The themed food nights are delightful with a wide range of foods for all. Selection of sweets is balanced with healthy options and indulgences available. Have to say I pigged out a bit lol. The bedroom was excellent and well maintained with bed making every morning. I found the staff extremely pleasant and helpful. German is the main foreign language in the hotel, but the staff adjusted rapidly when I informed them that I did not speak German or Spanish. The pool area is excellent. The reception and lounge are not open plan as such, with divisions between seating areas in the bar area very well planned, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Gran Fiesta and will return again without hesitation.
Unfortunately, to begin with I have to complain greatly about not actually getting a room in the Hotel 'HM Tropical' nearby, which I had actually booked. Very disappointing that a room was no available and I was absolutely shocked a the unorganisation. However, the sister hotel 'HM Gran Fiesta' offered me and boyfriend all inclusive which we did not pay for as an apology (after many minutes of me complaining and shouting as they had only originally offered to upgrade us from breakfast included, to half board) -Wonderful range of foods served all day from breakfast until dinner -Beautiful location on he beach with lots of restaurants and shops -Rooftop pool is stunning -Short bus journey into the capital, Palma -Beautiful balcony room -Safe provided in hotel room -Quiet rooms -Groovy interior and nice artsy space -All inclusive cocktails and other alcohols not as good as non all inclusive -Rooms not cleaned properly or nicely by staff throughout the whole 5 days of stay -Very Unhelpful and unfriendly staff -Two powercuts in one day with rude and unhelpful staff -Pools are far too small to accommodate all hotel stayers
Very, very disappointed with HM Gran Fiesta. Having prebooked about a month earlier via Expedia, with one week before our stay I got to receive a cancellation from the hotel due to their overbooking. Brilliant. Offered us an alternative hotel further out of town which attracted appalling reviews. Who knows how this all came about but I most certainly won’t be looking to book with these amateurs again.
Wonderful hotel!!!! Great location and facilities! The staff were very helpful and I will definitely stay again! Food was good too! We stayed half board and added all inclusive drinks each day - well worth the money!
We have just returned home from a 5 night stay for our 30th wedding anniversary. Never been to Mallorca before, but loved it. Hotel was lovely, food lovely, with plenty of choice. Sky bar, wow. What a view. Our room was serviced daily. Smirnoff vodka for all Inclusive & vino black lovely.
This one is clear and precise! This hotel is a must. As my almost 2M followers know I'm very straight forward in my reviews. The hotel location is beyond perfect! the multilingual personnel is so well mannered and trained; they make your stay even more comfortable, thank you Xisco, Alex, and the rest of the Team. The bar downstairs and the roof top are great and the bartenders are awesome, and always willing to do the extra mile for the guest. Housekeeping is very good as well. The breakfast one of a kind. I have the opportunity to meet with Hotel Director, Mr. Jose Angel Adan, what a gentleman capital letters. For the mvn43 guest review, there is nothing wrong with the hotel, perhaps they should check and research before travelling with a 7 month old baby; there is no vacation for that, I hope the real world travelers understand the point. Thanks Jose extensive to your great Team for making me feel home and spoiled during my long stay
