I had been to this hotel with my husband and two grandsons a few years previously- and when we were deciding to go to majorca to celebrate some friends 50th birthdays I recommended this hotel to them - the price was good - especially with it being all inclusive - so we all booked up. I found we a huge difference on most things from the previous holiday -,the entertainment was absolutely rubbish this time round, finishing most nights around 10pm, - although to be fair we didn't come for that .... but we hoped to be entertained somewhat before our nights out - instead it was just very quiet music in the background Considering the bar is open till midnight, the drinks come in very small plastic cups and only 2 per person, The food - there did not seem as much choice or as much out as before, the plates were not cleared away, and most of the time we did it ourselves, there was certainly not enough staff in the restaurant - I felt everywhere was run on a tight shoe string, Our room was clean enough on the surface - but I still felt it was only given a quick brush over as there were hairs on the floor when we arrived - that were not cleaned away for a couple of days The one real bug i had was the towels - i've been in lots of hotels, all different grades - from 2star to 5 star - but i've never had such disgusting towels that we had this time - apart from them being on the small side - they were really thin and a grey colour - certainly not white !!! normally I would fold the towels to conserve energy - but I left them out to be replaced at every opportunity - and each time they weren't any better , I did feel a big plus this time was the addition of the Italian restaurant - where the service was great and the food was ok - and I loved the pool bar for drinks - although i didn't partake of the food - it did look nice. i don't think i would be in any hurry to return here again - although it was in an ideal position for a ladies get away - apart from cardiac hill !!!!
As this was our first family holiday with 3 young boys aged 3, 5 and 6 the mixed reviews on here were a bit worrying. Surprisingly we had a very easy helpful and speedy passage through to boarding at Gatwick, so of to a good start. After waiting on the bus at Palma for a while we started our transfer which was comfortable and relatively speedy I think we were maybe the 3rd or 4th drop off and left at the hotel door. On arrival we were greeted by a smile from a male member of staff who was not only extremely polite and helpful ( directing us straight away to the restaurant before it stopped serving), but also very efficient and professional. After we were fed and watered we were directed to our rooms. When we opened the door we weren't disappointed. The room was clean and tidy with a bath and overhead shower the boys had a seperate bedroom with 3 single beds, we also had a pool view so all in all the room was faultless. There were plenty of sunbeds at each of the hotels 3 pools. We spent most of our time at the bottom kids pool with slides etc and a small park the boys loved it, there were also lifeguards on duty until around 5.30 -6. We were all inclusive and there was food and drink (alcoholic and non alcholic) available all day with slush puppies and ice cream for the kids. You will definitely not go hungry (or thirsty) in the aluasun. The food at snack time varied a bit but it was just snack food, pizza burgers chicken etc and lovely chips all very tasty and our fussy boys always found something to eat. In the restaurant wow! there was a very wide selection something for everyone and it was very decent indeed and plenty of it. The staff were very hard working and extremely friendly, I can't emphasize this enough 10 out of 10 for them. I might point out there was also a kids selection of food although my boys usually ate from the main buffet. Having 3 young kids my only gripe would be the advertising of lollo and bernie. it was only for Thomas cook customers, but the hotel has it's own entertainment which we had to find out about for ourselves ( perhaps if it was mentioned on check in it would help). The 2 girls who looked after the kids (Sally) in particular were excellent and very attentive with the kids having to be signed in and out. Would definitely return to this hotel, excellent friendly and helpfull staff, plenty of decent food and drink, daily cleaning of the rooms which were very spacious and an excellent hotel entertainment team. Thanks Sally for entertaining our boys and thanks aluasun for a delightful holiday.
Hotel very clean .reception staff very helpful . entertainment staff very good , always making you try different games.plenty of sunbeds. Food good staffin all areas helpful.bar staff polite and quick service.thomas cook reps very good .
I recently visited this hotel for 2 weeks. The main reason we chose this hotel is because we knew Steve and Sally were the entertainers and that we would be guaranteed an excellent time. The hotel is up a hill but not too bad, the people I went with hired mobility scooters and so they had no problems at all. The reception staff were very friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. Sorry but I can't say the same for the bar staff, they were very efficient and did the job they were paid for but they never smiled and and never made conversation it was as if they couldn't get you away from the bar fast enough. The food was excellent and the rooms were very clean and the beds were comfy. Our room was on the front of the hotel and so we had a sea view. The location of the hotel is handy for Magaluf and Palma Nova both places are just a short walk away, Torrenova beach is a 5 minute walk. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is a family hotel so lots going on throughout the day and evening. Many thanks to Steve and Sally for making extra special.
Visited end of October, even though many places were closing for the season the hotel was still very accommodating, the staff couldnt do enought to help, the rooms and hotel very clean, beds very comfortable and the entertainment was still on. The food was good, lots of choice and no reason for any complaints, would recommend this hotel as a safe place to stay if going to magaluf as it is only about ten minutes away and ten minutes from palma nova for anyone wanting to have a quieter time
This is the 7th year in a row we have been to this hotel. And we come back again every year because it is so good. You know what you are getting the staff are lovely Jose and Anna in Reception are very helpful and Steve and Sally are great with the kids and entertainment. There is a great variety of food each night and breakfast and lunch also have a great choice. There is also a snack bar fir food through the day time. It's nice now that they have proper glasses for evening drinks and not plastic ones. This hotel is like home from home to us. See you next October all being well with us.
Lovely clean hotel, staff very welcoming, food was really good different every night, was just the Saturday evening nothing appealed to us, lots to choose from, breakfast was good even had English sausages. Entertainment was really good, even had a Halloween show, done by reps and entertainment team, we had snake show, parrot show, comedian, acrobat show. We were room 232 1st floor by lifts. I have to downfalls which is we had ants in our room, and our room was over the entertainment, and up till 12 am you here the chairs scraping on the floor. Pools were cold. Freezing lol. Everybody was very friendly. Free bar till 12am then you have to pay for last hour. Beds made everyday and clean towels. Would definitely return had a fantastic week. Xx
We visited in April this year and enjoyed so much we returned on 14th October. Our grandson calls this "slushy hotel" because of the slush puppy drinks available, he loves it! We arrived just before lunch and was greeted by Ana again, all I can say is that she is probably the best receptionist I have come across in all my travels, her and her colleague Jose, straight away recognised us from our last stay, so it saved them the hassle of their welcoming speech. The wife had decided she wanted an upgrade to a family suite, something to do with her snoring...lol....Ana sorted it within an hour and at very reasonable cost we had the room as requested including free wifi x 2. I cannot fault Ana and her colleagues at all. The snack bar was open so it was to there we headed, a selection of salad, chips, pasta, burgers, fish cakes, sausages, bread and chips. The bar was two per person and soft drinks was help yourself, we had no problem with this and Sonia,Tixa and their colleagues again were fantastic and always welcoming. Breakfast in the mornings was fresh and everything for everybody, we tended not to eat lunch in the restaurant as snack bar was sufficient for our needs, plus we tend to go out a lot. Evening meals were good, a good selection of salads, cold meats, cheeses and hot mains, again we eat out 2/3 times a week, but every night we ate in was good. Especially gala dinner night and the themed halloween dinner - FANTASTIC! The kids watched a couple of shows but the highlight was the Halloween Show. During the day the entertainment team got all the kids to dress up T Shirts (free) and then in the evening the team put on a really professional Halloween show with the adults picking the best kids T Shirt, great fun and a fantastic show, loved it. All in all another fantastic week at Aluasun and we will definitely be back to "slushy hotel" Only two gripes - I am not sure why they have to have the outside speaker system on, when the entertainment was inside and quite loud enough in the evenings. Those that I talked to , who had gone up early,(young kids) all said it was annoying as it went on until past 11pm. The other is - Outside balcony light it does not go off until midnight and again is very bright and annoying, you cannot control it from the room. Yes, people will say shut the door and curtains, but it was still very warm and in October the AC units are turned off. Not a big deal and by all means did not spoil our holiday. Thankyou to all the staff from Reception,Bar and Waiting, Chefs and Housekeeping, Alua Hotels should be proud of you all - see you again early next year!
Me and partner had our holiday changed from Portugal to here due to monarch, I have got to say even tho this is family hotel it is brilliant, we arrived 19th October and soaked as was raining we was greeted by José who quickly got us some towels to dry off and checked us in made us feel very welcome, explained lunch was at 1pm, but snacks was open but in restaurant if wanted get some food and bar on the side was open, this was due to rain, when hot snacks n outside bar open then. We got our room it clean tidy no problem lovely pool view, the maids came in every day clean room, made the bed put fresh towels out for us. Food there was always different plenty choice every day, breakfast, lunch, tea always hot and the kitchen staff always smiling and waitress and waiter always busy cleaning up plates etc. Bar Jorge and ana are fab staff went out way make sure I had drink that I like always smiling and helpfull. Spirits are nice I totally enjoy vodka slush and ammerotto slushes, wasn't small measure either :). Entertainment I only seen parrot show and caught last half hour of two male singers one evening but they was both good.. In day time if you have children from 10.30am there Sally and rest of guys always about doing different things with kids game ect there also the Thomas Cook rep girls who nice too they there if want books trip out to water park ect also about in day doing activities with kids. On the whole this is fabulous, fantastic hotel for all. Yes on but steep hill but can get taxi if needed, we enjoy the walking :) I know definitely we're to bring my children for family holiday.. Big thank to all staff making my 30th present such fabulous time!
The hotel is a family hotel, but me and my friend went and it is just as fun and good if you are two young adults. The staff was amazing and sweet, they smiled and took care of the guests. The assistant manager Alvaro is a great young man, taking the time to listen to the guests and sorting their problems, such an amazing professional man, that is a great quality. I would visit this place again, and i would love to be greeted by this wonderful staff and Alvaro.
