This hotel is very centrally located. It is right off Puerta del Sol and there is also a metro stop close by. If you are into clubbing, JOY is right down the block and is an easy stumble home in the early morning! Rooms were clean and the bed was comfy, but our room was in a corner and it had a huge column in the middle of the room. It was not easy to navigate around it, between the bed, our suitcases, and the bathroom. I would definitely request a different room if they have some others available, especially if you are staying with more than one person. There is not much privacy in the bathroom as it's a glass door that is only partially frosted. It helps to be very close to the person you are staying with! Walls were pretty thin--we heard our neighbor come home at 4am every night. There is a breakfast that may be included in your room rate. I can't comment on the food as we didn't try it. I'd definitely recommend getting some churros con chocolate for breakfast in Madrid. San Gines is right down the block, and there are a few other places just as close. Overall, it's a nice place to stay that is walkable to a number of main tourist attractions including Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace. The staff is friendly and helpful as well.
I was concerned after the staff was initially unable to process our payment online. We had to call (Internationally) to get it sorted out. Even then the manager had to be called in to assist. Our stay was great. We were able to check in early and given our mifi unit to access wifi while out of the hotel (part of our reservation). The front desk staff was super friendly and helped call for same day flamenco show reservations. The room was clean and comfortable with bunk beds for our teenagers. I would have preferred a fluffier pillow, they were pretty flat. The bed was also firmer than I care for, although I have found that is typical for European hotels. The location is directly off of Puerta del Sol, the center of all the sites we wanted to visit. We were able to walk to everything. There was some street noise due to being so close to the Plaza and being on the second floor. Including a big truck that collected cardboard boxes right outside our room. Luckily we all brought ear plugs! The black out curtains were fantastic and very appreciated. The nearby grocery store (in El Corte Ingles) was helpful for small necessities and we enjoyed being right around the corner from La Mallorquina, the best pastry shop in Madrid!
Pettit de Sol is Excellent hotel very good location, best service, all staff is friendly. For sure I will stay at this hotel for my next trips. I will recommend my friends to stay at this Pettiet de Sol hotel.
+ excellent location in the heart of the city + very friendly staff , helpful + very good breakfast + nice room - very thin walls, you can hear everybody in the hallway -very hot in the room and it was not posible to put the air conditioning on (was not working due to the season, beginning of March )
Room was clean and beautiful simple decor, the checking in was easy enough with the receptionist given me all info we needed including a tourist map for my visit which was extremely handy. Location was spot on, metro not too far, easy to find. The breakfast was plentiful enough for everyone's taste vegetarian options vegan options and carnivore options, fresh fruit, cereals meats and cheeses breads and yogurts bacon and eggs and some Spanish hot breakfast food I am not familiar with but possible for the vegan options. Staff extremely friendly and spoke better english than me. My only fault and its not the hotels fault, it is noisy from outside from people and because its central people come out late and night and shop and eat so that only problem for me. other than that it should be rated 4 stars well done Vanessa who greeted us at the beginning the receptionist.
The room was excellent and the location was at the heart of the city. Staffs were very helpful. The bed was very comfortable. It would be better if the room could block the noise from outside, especially for the second floor.
The location of this hotel is perfect, so much right on your door step. The room was surprisingly spacious for a city hotel, spotlessly clean with a modern bathroom. Now the bad part, at night it’s so noisy, not city noise you would expect from a central location but the soundproofing from other rooms is non existent. From hearing word for word conversations, TV noise and even snoring the walls must be paper thin. I also agree with what has been previously mentioned, the sofas in reception are long over due a replacement.
Hotel was really neat and rooms were modern. Also in breakfast there were options for vegetarians as myself and vegan alternatives as well which is really great! Also the location was good near Sol and Opera, the street was busy and some of the noises from the city we heard by night. If you are a bad sleeper I suggest to ask a room from another side if there is any. Hotel wifi was REALLY BAD (I mean guys it’s 2018) so if you need to use internet during your stay (business trip, etc) I recommend to book a different hotel.
This hotel had an excellent location, right at Puerta Del Sol. Breakfast was also very good, with a large variety in general and plenty of healthy things to choose from. The room was a little small but that's normal when you are in the heart of every large city in the world. Note that the nearest road where cars and taxis can enter is about 50 meters away and walking there by foot is required.
I really recommend this hotel. I think I did get a small room, which had a pillar right in the middle of it, but the bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. Excellent housekeeping! Breakfast was fantastic and even had a section for those who like "super foods"! I will definitely recommend this hotel.
