This hotel was lovely with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. It is very centrally located with easy walking access to museums, squares, cafes, shopping, etc. I recommend the breakfast buffet as well! The room was clean and the bathroom spacious. Due to location, taxis were readily available for the return trip to the airport or train station.
My mom and I spent a week at NH Collection Paseo del Prado and had an absolutely fabulous stay. I got in contact with Francesca (in the customer relations team) a few weeks before arrival to be sure we got the best type of room for my mom (who's a senior and prefers a walk-in shower to a bathtub) and to ask for help making a reservation at a highly sought after restaurant. Francesca was so delightful and helpful in her emails that I knew we would be well taken care of, and indeed we were. We both had good-sized and comfortable rooms with amazing views of the Neptune Fountain: if you prefer spacious rooms, as we do, I recommend booking the higher categories, and the windows are highly insulated so as to reduce street noise to a minimum even with a view over such a busy traffic circle. The location was absolutely ideal for our purposes: the Prado is across the street in one direction, the Thyssen just one small block up in another! On the edge of the Huertas (Barrio de las letras) district, with its innumerable dining options, narrow & atmospheric streets, historic theaters, etc. Very easy walks too to Sol (about 10 min) and the Plaza Mayor (about 15), so we were able to walk to so many places in the historic center. Not a bad walk even over to the Royal Palace area. To get to sites a little further away, such as the Museo Sorolla or the Royal Tapestry Factory, we took cabs (very moderately priced), which are conveniently lined up in a taxi stand right out front! As an aside, it only took 20 minutes by cab to and from the airport (at a 30 euros fixed fare). All of the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, from Javier, Roberto and team at the front desk, who always greeted us warmly and by name whenever we left or returned to the hotel, to the customer relations (concierge) team - Francesca (who came out to greet us when she heard us checking in) and Julia, to the friendly breakfast servers (breakfast itself is a wonderful spread with plenty of high quality and delicious savory and sweet offerings, enough to tide you over till mid-afternoon), and the friendly, efficient, but unobtrusive housekeeping staff. All of our questions and requests were handled quickly, enthusiastically, and effectively. This hotel was truly an oasis for us, a warm & calm haven to return to after busy days of sightseeing in this vibrant and bustling city, and so convenient that we could return home for a short break in the afternoon to freshen up or simply rest a bit. Finally, we found the price very fair given the location, service, and amenities, more economical in fact than other nearby hotels of similar standing. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay and recommend wholeheartedly to others. ¡Muchísimas gracias a todo el personal! Esperamos poder volver a alojarnos con Uds. algún día!
We spent 6 nights at the hotel and were very satisfied. The location is very good both regarding access to the central old city core and the museum area. The room was quite satisfying and very quite in spite of the fact that it faced the traffic circle outside. Good view from the room! Very good breakfast and friendly staff who helped us to book bicycle tour, recommend restaurants etc. Don't miss to visit the gym at the top of the tower - good view from there!
We really enjoyed our three-day stay at this hotel which was conveniently located near the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We booked a superior room with large windows that provided a view overlooking the Neptuno Fountain. We thought that the hotel was a good value considering the location and the quality of the room. It was easy to walk from the hotel to the botanical garden and some of the best dining and shopping in Madrid.
We stayed at the NH collection for a long weekend. We had been promised a room with a view, but mostly we saw the windows of the hotel next door. The room itself was rather small and the furniture too dark. Also the bathroom was rather small. On the other hand, the staff was super nice and professional. In the lobby was a cute corner with light beverages and candies throughout the day. The location is also very good, just opposite the Prado and lots of bars and restaurants in walking distance.
I stayed for a few nights and the service was outstanding: from the reception, bellboy, cleaning and breakfast staff, they were friendly, smiley and made us feel home. Very professional and welcomy. Location is perfect, next to Retiro park, Prado Museum and just 10min walk to Puerta del Sol. The gym is quite complete with nice views. The bed was very comfortable, I had the best sleep in ages. I would definitely stay there again. Thanks!
I have been at the hotel for a weekend and really recommend the hotel for travelers who want to discover the city. Very good location. The staff was very helpful during my trip and breakfast was really nice.
- Great Location - My wife and I stayed in a Superior-double Room. The room was small to medium size - small bathroom. Not enough for a couple - Silent from the outside but noisy from the corridor - The Housekeeping cart was parked next to our room. What a nightmare - The desk / work area is small and not comfortable at all - The double-bed was queen size (probably smaller) and wasn't comfortable. Didn't sleep well - The service is good. The front desk staff are very friendly and professional - Overall not a good experience
We just got back from Madrid, where we stayed a week at the NH Collection Paseo del Prado. The location of this hotel is just perfect. Is about three minutes from the Thyssen, across from El Prado, about a five minute walk from the Banco de Espana metro station, across the street from the Madrid City tour bus (hop on hop off) and finally, about a twenty minute walk from the Reina Sofia museum and the Atocha Train Station. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, well stocked and very comfortable. Our room did not have a "view" or a balcony, but it didn't matter to us since we spent all day out and about. I cant say enough about the great customer service! I have never stayed at a hotel where the staff constantly strives to make your stay nothing short of excellent! Great place to stay, definitely recommend.
In the past, I've stayed at the Westin Palace, and always noticed this smaller hotel nearby. This time I booked a room here and was glad I did. I was able to get a room with breakfast and a fantastic view out to the Plaza and over to the Prado Museum for a good price. I arrived early on a Sunday, and my room was ready, I was also told that I could partake of the Sunday Buffet breakfast, even thought my rate would have just given it to me for Monday! The room was cozy, but well appointed with coffeemaker, fridge, large windows that opened to the view of the city. I did go down for breakfast, and it included cooked to order items along with the extensive buffet. The hotel also has a small bar with snacks and an adjacent restaurant. The location couldn't be better, near the airport bus stop, museums, shopping and Retiro Park.
