The location of this hotel cannot be beat. The Prado is right across the street. The rooms are small, and the public spaces are barely functional. However the staff is excellent. This is the perfect hotel if you only have a few days in Madrid, and don't want to waste time getting around. For fabulous public hotel spaces (and high prices) the The Westin Palace Madrid is right around the corner for afternoon tea.
Thank you for a lovely stay and the special treat on my birthday. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was beautifully laid out with quality produce and the gentleman in the breakfast room very polite, as the whole staff in general. Great location in the museum triangle, will definitely stay here again.
The staff was very friendly, hotel was pleasant, location excellent. The rooms are tiny. We upgraded to a better category, but the room was only slightly bigger. Bed pillows were too soft. Our room was right in front of the cleaning supply closet, which meant that door opening and slamming early in the morning, and loud talking. There was no noise from street, but inside hotel was not so well insulated. Another detail us that the main door diesnt go all the way to the floor, and the room being so small, a flood of light came in the morning. We put a pillow in front to block it. We ordered room service breakfast one day which was way too expensive for a few croissants, two pieces of cold toast, juice and coffee. The hotel buffet is also very pricey for what it is- better off going to one of the very nearby cafes. It is overall a nice hotel, but next time I'd stay at the Westin palace just behind it.
OK It was clean. Yet when I entered my tiny room I could not walk around the bed. My only view was to the wall of the hotel's other rooms.I had to move the bed end table to the only available wall, in expense of not being able to open the wardrobe totally, so I could sit on the chair to write. No clocks, use your phone for it. Bathroom is decent size. Breakfast is Ok but way too pricey. Staff were all friendly. DO not look for any luxury or extras at all.
I stayed for two nights and wanted to spend time at the Prado Museum. This hotel is the perfect location for the Prado, other museums, the train station, and some of Madrid's beautiful parks. Check-in is fast and easy and the front desk staff is excellent. The concierge was very helpful as well. I had a lovely room on the 6th floor overlooking a park and a gorgeous walk-in shower. They keep the place spotless. I booked online and paid in advance, which saved a good bit of money.
We had a wonderful stay, the hotel is top shelf. The staff was very helpful from the check in and the breakfast room and over the top help from the concierges. They helped us with planning our days and our flight check in problems. They gave us some good tips on restaurants and museums in the area. We were very pleased with the restaurant picks. The hotel location is very nice in a busy part of the city. The outside world maybe busy but the rooms are very quiet. Our room looked out onto the street and we heard very little noise. The park across the street is a peaceful spot for an afternoon break. The bathroom was small be very useful with many upgrades. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. We got great nights sleep after long days of sigh seeing. The breakfast was wonderful! The choices were amazing and the staff very friendly. On our second day they remembered our choice of coffee from the day before as well as our egg orders.
We were here for four nights. The hotel had our room ready early, as we requested. Our “Superior” room (the lowest room type) is small, but fine. The only disadvantage is that when one opens the bathroom door, the light shines directly on my side of the bed. A very good breakfast. And Lilian, the Guest Relations representative, was exceptionally helpful, suggesting that we buy Royal Palace tickets in advance to avoid a long line, recommending a restaurant, and locating a replacement for a "lost" item.
We were only passing through Madrid, but wanted to spend a morning at the Prado before catching a train to Sevilla. Chose this hotel for its location, but loved it for its comfort, amenities, wonderful service, and super welcoming and kind staff. We checked in late and I needed a very quick turn around on laundry, out of official laundry hours. The receptionist made a few phone calls and the next thing I knew, there was someone at my door to collect my things. Thank you!
Above all the hotel has an outstanding location. It shares a large plaza with the Westin Palace and The Ritz but at half the price. I paid slightly more for a larger, upgraded room overlooking the fountain and the plaza. It is worth the small upcharge - the room was adequately sized, but the view was nice. Note the standard rooms are smaller and overlook an interior courtyard. The room was fairly quiet - from time to time you could hear the street musician in front of the Starbucks across the street, but fortunately no traffic from a very busy avenue. The staff was very nice, welcoming and efficient, the housekeepers respected the "do not disturb" sign (not always the case in Spain), and the traditional decoration was lovely and respected the architecture of the building. The beds were also very comfortable. The only reason I am giving it a 4 rather than a 5 is that the air conditioner could not keep us with Madrid summer temperatures and the room could use a bit of a renovation. Some of the furniture and the bathrooms are looking dated. They're very proud of their hand loomed carpets (and rightly so) but they could use a cleaning and some restoration work. All in all a solid choice and I would return.
This is by far the most comfortable hotel I have ever stayed. Not only is the location perfect for both business and leisure, but all aspects of the stay were perfect. Most important of all, they have the pillows that ensure a good night’s sleep. I have stayed in many 5-star hotels, and they all have comfortable beds, but the pillows are never right. NH Collection Madrid Paseo del Prado is different. Moreover, the rooms are well-equipped, the interior lovely (the building used to be a palace) and the staff so courteous and helpful. 10/10 experience.
