Novotel Madrid was a fantastic place to base ourselves for our stay in Madrid. Walking distance to the botanical gardens and Metro line. Plenty of restaurants and supermarkets etc within easy walking distance. Staff were fantastic and rooms were brilliant, ours with a lovely terrace!
Novotel Madrid City is an excellent hotel for a family within a 5 minute walk of Parque del Buen Retiro. There are 2 metro stops nearby serving the city (Goya & O' Donnell). The hotel was beautifully clean and bright and our room was beyond anything we could have imagined. We had a suite for a very reasonable price with an annexe room for our children. There was a very kind welcome note and chocolates in our room which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was outstanding with such an impressive selection. There were traditional Spanish items alongside standard international breakfast choices. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. We would definitely return to Novotel Madrid Center if visiting the city again.
I stayed there for 10 days. Everything was nice except one day. Location is good. Goya metro station ,you can go city center, is far from the hotel by 10 min walking. O’donnel metro station, you can come to hotel from the airport (not directly), is closer than Goya metro station. I went to airport from the hotel and it cost 30 euro by taxi. Close to retiro park and relatively close to art museums. Room was nice. Bathroom is really important to me and that was so nice. Cleaning is ok. Free water and tea/coffee-kettle were charming me. Breakfast menu is really nice. As a healty eater, I am so glad to see more greeny things on my plate. Dinner was also nice but service a little slow. Gym is small but enough. It based on machine and dumbells. Unfortunately there was no bars and weight. I use bars when i do my gym but it is ok not big problem. But 7. day of my stay was terrible. I was on queue to have a breakfast. We are 3 single. Staff asked who is 2? We said we are single and she pick a couple end of the queue. I don’t think there is some difference between table for 2 and 1. Later they show me a table almost broke. Nothing fix. When I start to eat my breakfast in a diffuculty way a staff wig his finger to me angerily. 3 staff based problem was too much in 10 min. I talked kitchen chief and otel manager. They only said we are sorry. I couldn’t eat my breakfast and I have to eat in Retiro park. That was amazing to eat in Retiro after that kind of problem. I checked the that broken table other day they removed it. Genarally I am glad that hotel, i felt comfartable. There is always a problem but important thing is aproaching tonthe problem. I hope it will be better.
We stayed here for four nights in December and we found this hotel had everything we needed for the short stay! The breakfast buffet was the highlight- the pastries were amazing. They also gave us a cake for our honeymoon stay which made us feel special! Thanks for that! The complimentary drink was a plus too!
A special thanks to Jorge who willingly assisted my family with room issues and made our stay very comfortable! He also assisted with airline baggage issues. Travellers staying at the hotel who are in need of help, do not hesitate to ask Jorge.
Location: one block from the O'Donnell Metro station, where the Airport express bus also stops. A flat walk without hills. Staff: pleasant and English speaking. Room size: not huge but generous. Bed: large, comfortable. Air con: powerful, and can set own fan speed and temperature. Cleanliness: very clean. House keeping provide you with two fresh bottles of water daily. Bathroom and shower: good size and clean, modern. As usual for hotels, shower screen inadequate in keeping water off bathroom floor, but this is not a unique problem. Toiletries: average, but usable. Breakfast:.very good selection of hot and cold foods lots of vegetarian options, a juice bar and coffee machine. Overall a very good breakfast. Overall impression: excellent, would stay again
While I understand that they are shorthanded on Christmas Day, to wait almost 1 hour for our food order at the hotel bar/restaurant is totally unacceptable especially other tables that arrived after us received their food before us.
2 adults + 2 kids. Arrived late at airport before leaving by train early the day after, so we slept at Madrid. Booked months ago for an affordable price. Staff competent and sweet. Even got an upgrade. Room (floor 8) clean and quiet. Had no time to visit city, but I suppose it is well located. Recommend!
I don't think that it is a real hotel.I think that it is a factory and someone with big imagination transformed it to hotel.very bad imagination.the location is ok but the service and the rooms are very poor and basically you feel that you are totally anonymous.nobody is taking care of you
minimal and comfortable rooms, good position in a quite area 3 mins walking from subway station, nice little gym. Couple of negative points: some dust around in the room and zero smiles from mostly of the reception staff.
