Cheap, Clean, basic with the hardest bed I have ever tried to sleep on. Perfectly located just off Gran via. No thrills accommodation buts fits the bill if that is what you are looking for. The patisserie next door is great for breakfast.
Stopped here in Sept when I visited Madrid with my wife. Very close to the shopping areas, easy walking to the tourist areas. Cheap, clean room and friendly staff. Room nothing special, but decent bed and shower. What more do you need when you're out all day anyhow! Would defo use it again as long as prices remain reasonable.
So this hotel was a cheap option in comparision with the others around, and i found that the room i got had an excellent view to the street, almost like a 4 stars view! or more Location: The best characteristic of this hotel, is veryy close to the center Reception: Kinda slow but courteous Room: Great, is not new, what is more, is kinda old, but the direct view to the street and the relation price/what you gets was veryy good, you even get a small terrace! Will i come back? Indeed i was thinking to make a second booking during the days I was in Madrid. If the price correct and I need an hotel arround, is a very good option! Cheers and good luck!
The location of this hotel is spot on and the reception staff are so friendly and helpful can't do enough for you. Check in was straightforward and the staff are really efficient!! Breakfast is served in the little cafe attached to the hotel n you could chose from churros, croissants or a ham or sausage sandwich with coffee and juice it was really nice. Towels changed every day and rooms cleaned. Now for the negatives.... rooms small and the bed just a bit smaller than a double. Our shower wasn't working properly (it looked to be a fancy power shower but it wasn't!!) no tea or coffee making facilities and no fridge to keep drinks in. For us though the positives far outweighed the negatives. We weren't in madrid to sit in a hotel room and we were out most of the time. Would I stay here again ? Yes , if the price was right due to the excellent location but if you are someone who will be spending more time than we did in our hotel room I wouldn't recommend. I understand there isn't much that can be done about the room size but a tiny and a kettle would make a world of difference
This little hotel is in the heart of the action, you can walk to the major attractions from here, which is great. The rooms are tiny, which is par for the course here. The bed was hard as a rock. Man was it bad. The bedding was clean though. Really it has what you need-small closet, small tv, shower. But don't look at your white covers after you lay down with your get, you will see how dirty the floors are.
Wonderful, friendly, and helpful staff. Excellent location. Our room, however was extremely noisy. We were next to the housekeeping closet, over the restaurant and one floor up from the street. Pluses of the room were good water pressure and good lighting. Minuses, aside from the noise, was an odd bathroom door that was more like a partition- it didn't really close off, and privacy was compromised. Internet was a little weak. The adjoining restaurant where we took our breakfast was pretty good, but limited selection. Staff in the restaurant was also friendly and efficient.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was over the restaurant and very noisy. Also it was across from the housekeeping closet. Make sure you ask for a room higher up in the building. The door to the bathroom was glass and not as wide as the door frame so there was almost NO privacy. I was traveling with a friend so I would have appreciated a regular door. The hotel was very well located. Breakfast was included but served in the cafe attached to hotel.
Great location and easy to reach. Steps from Gran Via Metro and Calleo Metro Stations. The hotel is simple but comfortable. I slept well - comfy bed, great shower, great water pressure, clean, mini fridge where I could put some bottles some few things in. Overall nice. The rooms have wooden floors so at times you can hear the people next door walk around in their room. Staff was friendly and helpful. They are doing their best to serve you, so stop complaining about small and useless things. It always amazes me how much some travelers complain about the smallest things. Be more grateful in your life. Smile more. Complain less.
I am just back from a pleasant stay here. It is in a brilliant location in terms of getting around. Its very clean and the staff are very helpful. The small cafe is very quaint and they have a lovely selection of cakes/pastries. Madrid was a lovely city to visit and the staff at the hotel were very helpful in recommending where to visit/eat/drink etc. Highly recommend it!
If location is all you're interested in, this is definitely the hotel for you. However the hotel is let down by a lot of small details (or lack of) which left me feeling a bit let down. The room we got had definitely seen better days, with several areas looking visibly damaged. The floorboards in the room and the corridor squeked a lot. The bathroom floor was heavily damaged and the vanity unit had extensive water damage. Every review here seems to complain about room size, however i believe that the rooms are normal for what i expect of a hotel in a busy city and in a central location. Cleanliness is a decent 8/10. Breakfast was good but selection from the cafeteria is limited if staying there for more than a few days. Reception Staff was very helpful. Overall a hotel i'd reconsider because of it's location - if they renovate they'll see me there each time i'm in madrid!
