I have stayed in this hotel on several occasions in the past because it is walking distance from my office. I have not, however, stayed after the renovation and was extremely surprised by what has been done. On arrival guests were offered fruit and a choice of cold drinks (fruit water and juices) at Reception. A great greeting, especially as it was extremely hot outside and the drinks were very welcome. The room was fantastic and very quiet. On the 7th floor (which I don't normally like - I prefer lower floors which I can reach using the stairs) with a private balcony. Wow. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom, although quite compact, had everything I needed (including a brilliant shower). Breakfast - @ ca €16 was very good although I thought it was a bit expensive. Lots of things to choose from and if you wanted eggs other than scrambled you could ask the staff for your preferred choice. Staff were very polite and helpful. The hotel is in a very good location as it is in a quiet area with easy access (ca 3 mins) to the metro. A local Carrefour is just around the corner - so fruit and water at hand should you feel the need for more than what you get in the hotel.

Checked in late nite to this perfectly located hotel....and only 2 mins walk from the nearest Metro. Not sure if got one of the better rooms, but mine was located in the far corner of the building, which made for an unusual but very spacious layout....felt more like a 5 star experience. Even if the room was more conventional in shape, I'd still be giving this hotel a top rating.

I traveled to Madrid and had a reasonably good time. I am nearly always running or training and this summer I am training for a Marathon in October. Needless to say I am always filtering for gyms when I look for hotels. This hotel had what I wanted. The room was descent the shower was gods. The beds comfortable. This hotel has two buildings. There is a very nice gym with two great treadmills. On Sunday my long run was about 8 to 9 miles. It's been going great. They are gracious enough to provide water, apples and a canned drink as well. After you finish running that long you basically lose about 4 pounds of water weight maybe more. I finished running and went back after my shower to get another bottle. This is when things got sketchy. I was told I had to return my water because it was only for people who used the gym. I was quite anxious but had no way of explaining that I just ran. It seemed so petty in a country where there are fewer drinking water fountains then telephone booths but have an inordinate amount of fountains. It was about 90 to 95 degrees that day. I had no way of buying water either. “Were Niagara but a cataract of sand, would you travel your thousand miles to see it?” Overall the hotel is so so but this pettiness was unnecessary

This is a business style hotel which is in a very handy location. It's two minutes walk to the Metro station and if you fancy a longer walk about ten minutes to a Metro station where you don't have to change to get to the airport. To walk to the Puerta del Sol, right in the centre of Madrid, takes about 25 mins and is a really nice walk, if a little hot!. There are plenty of local cafes and restaurants within easy reach of the hotel, and all of the ones we visited served good quality, reasonably priced food. The rooms were very clean and the staff very helpful. My only (small) criticism is that the hotel bar is not manned and if you want to have a drink you have to first ask at reception and then wait for a member of the waiting staff to come to the bar. I feel that the hotel is missing a trick here in that the bar has a much less friendly feel without bar person - guess that they've done the cost/benefit analysis! Would definitely return

The worst point of my room was it's view. It was the emergency stairs and I do not like it. In reception I want a good view for my room unfortunately the man that was on shift said it!has good view but it was not real.

Clean, comfortable & quiet room, although it seemed a bit small for a Junior Suite. Bathroom quite small & cramped, but clean & with modern fittings. Friendly & helpful staff. A modern hotel with good amenities and furnishings. Excellent buffet breakfast - better than in some more expensive hotels. Curiously, the restaurant is closed for other meals on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Other eating venues are within reasonable walking distance. Not that close to metro stations but the taxi service is cheap and efficient - probably the best way to get in and out of the city if on a busy sight-seeing schedule. Overall good value for money.

The NH Zurbano is probably one of my most favorite hotels in the entire world. I had stayed there twice. Every time I do it is just an amazing experience. The staff are extremely friendly and will make sure that your stay is the best It can be. The hotels breakfast is the best you could ask for. The hotel is near all the touristic stuff in Madrid without being in all the people. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone!! Can't wait to go back!!

I love the NH hotel en Madrid. Location is perfect. Rooms and bathroom very clean and light. Amazing bed but the very best, breakfast. A buffet with so many different options. Out of this world. I will stay there for sure next time I am in Madrid!

Hotel on good location with decent facilities and a small but new gym. Breakfast was ok with the average NH quality. My room was on the 4th floor but with very poor sound isolation; but you could hear everything that was happing on the street and slamming doors. On the second night there was a party at the hallway with several teenagers running drunk until 5am. After my complain I was changed to the 7th floor, which was better regarding the noise, but the sink was broken. I called maintenance 3 times and nobody came. I would not stay in the hotel again, would be better to stay in another one close by

The hotel is close to a metro station and busses running to the city. The rooms to the back are quite but on the lower floors a little bit dark. The breakfast is excellent with a good choice of fresh fruit and juices.
