If you are a big fan of Real Madrid, these hotel would be perfect for you, thanks to it's place, it's 3 minutes away from Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Adding to that it's not far from downtown and Grand Via street.
The hotel is very well located for travelers next door to the Metro station and the C1 train link to the airport. We found the hotel clean and efficient with nice beds. The bar was also very good value for a hotel bar. It was all we needed for a tour of he city for a long weekend. The only negatives were that the lift could be quiet noisy (the lift itself and its occupants) and some of the décor was a little dated
I am a Spire Elite member and have stayed in many different IHG hotels. I had the worst experience when staying in Holiday Inn Madrid Piramides. This is a personal trip and I booked this hotel several months ago. Since The price was very affordable when I checked it online, I ended up booking with my credit card instead of booking with points. The check in and stay at the hotel was ok, however, when we checked out, we were told that the room price was much higher than what I booked. I checked my online account and found out that they’d changed the room price. I was sure because two days before I checked in I doubled checked the hotel address and price in my online account. And then I was told they were willing to change the price if I could show them the confirmation email. Unfortunately, I didn’t keep my reservation emails since I travel all the time and my inbox could be filled up easily with all kinds of confirmations. In the past, I simply relied on my IHG online account. I think I just learned a lesson — you cannot simply trust the information shown in your online account since the hotels could easily change it. If I were able to show the confirmation email, they could just get away with a “sorry”; otherwise, they could make more money from their dishonest behavior. Stay away from this hotel or at least keep your reservation email.
Great hotel, close to metro , several good restaurants nearby, great staff, the gm was great , housekeeping was great we stayed in room 302 and checked out Sunday the 21st of Jan 2018. Everyone very friendly. Internet was slow. Tip, breakfast very expensive in comparison to restaurants down the street, I ate at montepinos a block and a half away and great check priced breakfast and lunch and dinner. Next door to there is supermarket if you need to buy anything. Plaza mayor a short walk. If you do not have too much luggage take train to airport which is cheaper again it’s right outside hotel.
This hotel offers all the comforts of the Holiday Inn chain, including Room Service meals, and is conveniently located across the street from the train station which makes it very easy to get wherever you need to be. We had a 1-nigth layover in Madrid and this was affordable and conveniently located for us to take a short train ride to and from the airport.
Firstly I want to stress all the staff we met were fantastic, excellent customer service! However the hotel is dated, the showers didn't work very well and would suddenly turn very hot. The rooms were far too hot, the two rooms we had were both the same, we couldn't get the air conditioning to work, so had to sleep with the windows open, which meant the noise from the roads outside was so loud we still couldn't sleep. The Internet was dreadful, for a city centre hotel this isn't acceptable. I wouldn't recommend it for business. The area is ok, a metro station outside and a 20/30 minute walk to the city centre. The room service was good actually. I wouldn't chose to stay here again though.
Good place to stay. Better facilities, close to train stations, in the middle of the city. The rooms were clean and prepared daily. Food was great as well. I would recommend this hotel for business and Leisure Travel.
Great value hotel, close to city centre but in a quiet neighbourhood. Metro station is right outside the door! Room was great with huge comfortable bed. Very close to the river and liner park for walking. Surrounding neighbourhood has everything you need if you don't feel like going downtown. Great value.
We spent 3 nights here without any issue. The location is great, with metro just outside the hotel. Staff provides upgrade for one of our room because of elite status. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The bed and pillows are great, but TV has no HD program, it’s ok for us because we spend most of the time outside the hotel. We had breakfast on one day and the food selection is good for us. The location might not be great for some traveler, but it’s great for us to take cab/taxi to anywhere in the city. We should have using mytaxi app to go around the city but taxi is very easy to access right outside the hotel. We did ask the staff to call for a cab to airport early in the morning. Great hotel and we have no issue during our stay.
We stayed here for a couple nights last week. The hotel is not right downtown, but the Piramides station is right in front of the hotel. There are subways to downtown (but you need to buy a travel card) or the train to the airport. The hotel itself is fine, but not a lot of amenities. The beds were quite hard by North American standards, and that made for an uncomfortable sleep. The two single beds were pushed together even though we requested separate beds. And every day the cleaning staff would push the beds back together, so we would have to separate them ourselves again. The bathroom was fine and the towels were soft. The TV only featured spanish channels, so nothing to watch in other languages. Also we couldn't figure out how to lower the temperature in the room, so we just resorted to leaving the window open. The staff at the front desk was nice and helpful, no complaints. Overall the hotel seemed a bit below standards, and the uncomfortable beds were the main issue. I don't regret staying as we had a great price. However I would only return if the price was good. Otherwise I'd look at other hotels closer to the city centre.
