We booked a two night stay online and made it clear we were bringing our dog. We were quoted a price and received a confirmation of price and that we were bringing a pet. When we checked in the desk clerk charged us an extra $40.00. I showed her the printout and she said they didn't charge $20.00 per night pet fee. I protested that nothing was ever said about a "pet fee" either on the website or when I called and discussed the dates, the fee, and again discussed the dog. Didn't phase her. If it hadn't been for a 24 hour cancellation fee clause we would have left then. The phones didn't work. "None of them work back there. We think it's the phone companies fault." The room had an awful odor. The carpet was torn away at the door and was dirty. The chairs were filthy. The quilt on the bed had holes and was stained. The awning over the patio was in shreds. A chunk was missing out of the patio door. The curtain had holes in it. The outside columns which supported the second story were crumbling dangerously at the base. We will never, ever book at this place again!

The rooms were just ok and need updating. There was caution tape across a section which had storm damaged and not repaired. The pop machine on the first floor didn't work, the ice machine is in a long hallway, that looked scary. The rooms weren't the cleanest.

We came down to Madison to visit family, decided we did not need a super fancy hotel, and this fit the need. Although this property is older and very dated, we found our room to be clean, well stocked with towels, clean bedding and plenty of hot water. The room has a small refrigerator and a small microwave, it also had an iron and coffeemaker. The usual amenities. There is a pool, but we did not use it. They provide a continental breakfast for hotel guests. WiFi is provided free to hotel guests. The weather was very hot and humid while we were visiting, and our AC did a good job of keeping our room comfortable. To my surprise, some of the lights are on timers, so if one falls asleep, the lights don't stay on all night! Check in was quick and easy, and staff were friendly and helpful.

Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We have 2 Yorkies, and they are welcome here! Many channels on the t.v. Location is great with lots of places to eat close by. Plan on staying there again soon. You won't be disappointed.

Was well worth the cost. Clean bathrooms. Clean linens. Hotel needs to use kilz on its rooms. I have stayed at this hotel several times. The no smoking rooms smell very badly of smoke. I always carry febreze with me for this reason.

this is the worst hotel/motel I ever stayed in. A hotel in a 3rd world country would be better. There are leaks everywhere, the lighting is awful. the beds are so uncomfortable it feels like it's made of cactus. If you go to the bathroom (there is a provided plunger) because you will need to use it every time you use the toilet. The service is basically nonexistent. Lets not forget the FREE breakfast which is a joke! Your better off staying in your car! The heated pool doesn't work, and there is no hot water in the room

We went to Madison In so we could visit Clifty Falls State Park. We stayed at this hotel and loved it. it was quiet and in a pleasant setting. The pool is in a separate building next to the hotel. Our grandson spent a lot of time in the pool. I would give this hotel a !0 rating if It was possible. The staff was friendly, very helpful with directions and info of things to do in the area.

This is hands down the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. We booked this through priceline because its listed as a 3 star hotel. Well, I dont know how those ratings are listed. I wouldnt even rate this as a 1 star hotel. I am typically not that picky with hotels, I have stayed at aome pretty crappy hotels before and was at least able to tolerate it. Since we booked it on priceline, we had to pay in advance for 5 nights. We only lasted 2 nights before we bailed to a different hotel. Upon arriving at this hotel, we could see that it was older, obviously....its Madison, Indiana, we expected that. The gentleman that checked us in was nice and friendly. We get our key and head to our room. All the reviews are right, the smell is awful. It smelled like damp, rotten, stale cigarettes, oh well, I will just spray some air freshner and leave the door open to kind of air out the room. We notice on the queen beds, there are only 2 extremely flat pillows per bed. I go to the front desk and ask for more, and am told we dont have any extras available but will bring you some when we have some. Seriously, this hotel was maybe 1/4 full and you dont have any extra pillows? We had a double queen room and they have way too much, old crappy furniture stuffed into this mid size room. It was cramped and difficult to move about in. We walk around the hotel grounds to see the pool and the fishing pond that they have. Well, the pool wasnt too bad, except the huge massive spiders and webs you can see on the outside of the glass building the pool is in. The pond did have fish in it and was actually a pretty cool feature for the hotel, except its at the very back of the hotel and right near what appears to be their suite type rooms. However, it appeared that there was some shady looking people that were living out of those rooms. The pool and pond also had a perfect view of the hotels mattress disposal. There were 15-20 disgusting looking mattresses all stacked up on top of each other right near the pool and pond. It was a less than pleasant sight to say the least. The next day, I go back to the front office to ask for a couple more towels, because our room was not sufficiently stocked with towels for more than one person. Not only did they only have one extra towel on hand, the wrote it down that I had taken one extra towel. I also ask about the pillows. They still have no extras and where kind of rude about it. About 15 minutes later, they bring one more extremely flat pillow to my room. The next night, we run out of toilet paper, so I go ask for another roll. They had to search around up front to find an extra roll and yup, they even wrote it down that I took an extra roll of TP. If I had known, that towels, pillows and TP were a rarity at this hotel, I would have brought my own. The last straw for us, was when I woke up on the 2nd morning with an extremely itchy neck....its gotta be bed bugs. We immediately book another hotel and leave. This hotel is in desperate need of new management and updates, I dont even know if that will help. I would be surprised if this hotel is open another year. Do not stay here, you will regret it or end up spending even more money because you will most definitely wnd up leaving early.

First of all the all the staff here that I came across were all very kind . I booked this hotel because of the heated pool, when we got there we were told that the pool was closed and being filled. The pool was open the next day but the water had no time to heat up. The room was cleaned pretty well I did find dirt behind the bathroom door and the toilet needed to cleaned under the rim. Upon arriving I used the washroom in the lobby, they had a terrible gnat problem which must be ongoing due to the gnat trap set up in the bathroom. They do rent rooms by the week, so be aware of this when booking. Also if you like to fish there is a fishing pond in the back that have fish so bring a fishing pole The hotel does have a free breakfast which we did not eat.

This was a good clean motel. Not anything special but for the prices that are charged in Madison it was a good place to stay. Very quiet and I got a good night sleep. The front desk was very helpful and friendly.
