What should I bring to a spa hotel? As you'll probably spend a good deal of your time in a plush bathrobe and slippers, you won't need to take a lot with you. Besides casual clothes to put on after your spa treatments, essential items like underwear and toiletries should be on your packing list. Of course, if you intend to make use of the hot tub or pool, or get physical with an exercise class or two, toss a bathing suit and some gym attire into your bag as well. Finally, leave the electronics behind and bring a book instead. It is, after all, meant to be an escape from the real world.

Knights Inn Madison Heights, VA
1/5 Terrible
"If this is a two star hotel I’m the king of England! I can honestly say this is the worst hotel experience I’ve had in my almost 60 years on this planet. And I’ve stayed in hostels all over Europe. If you know, you know. Now, I just needed a room for two nights while I was in the area for a golf tournament. I usually say I just need clean sheets, towels, and a hot shower. This place took that to the extreme! The sheets and towels were clean and the shower was hot but the room was absolutely filthy! Dust and cobwebs everywhere. It looked like someone rubbed their dirty feet all over the walls and worse still someone clearly picked their nose repeatedly and wiped it on the walls! Absolutely disgusting. The walls are paper thin and the couple in the adjoining room were loud all might and while my room was a nonsmoking room you couldn’t tell because of the cigarette smoke coming from their room. I really had a difficult time going back to the room for the second night. This was literally just a step up from sleeping in my car. But at the end of the day, the old adage is true, generally you get what you pay for. It’s graduation season so rooms were going for $300+ so I thought I was getting a deal staying a little further outside the city and paying $85/night. Stay their at your own risk, you have been warned."
