Private Country Beach Retreat

Welcome to Mason Jar Retreats Beach Home. Our home is a private beachfront property with the best of both country and beach living. Located on 6 acres on a private road with only a few steps to take to your private oasis on the Chesapeake Bay. Enjoy sunsets from the beautiful porches while taking in the natural surroundings. Our home is only three miles from a vineyard and winery and 20 minutes to Cape Charles with lots of shopping and dining in a quaint beach town. Our home has a lot packed into a small package. Two master suites, both with private baths and walk out porches with water views provide a great escape. The second floor living with kitchen and living room provides exceptional water views year round. There's also lots to do outside; lounge on the porch swing or the beach with a good book, go swimming, fishing, or just play in the ocean. Enjoy some yard games or go for a quiet walk through the country street. Relax at the firepit or in the cooler months, cozy up to the indoor fireplace. Enjoy casual dinners around the large kitchen island or meals outside at the farmhouse table. Everything you need for your stay is provided from linens to beach equipment, you’ll never need to leave. *LGBTQ+Friendly Home

Kristy & Brian were the perfect hosts; making sure the Mason Jar was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need! The home is beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and furnishings. The views are spectacular and the sunsets amazing! Close to Cape Charles, we enjoyed the Mason Avenue Bakery and Deadrise Pizza! The temps were freezing so we really could not utilize the lovely firepit or beach supplies, but the indoor fireplace was awesome! Would like to return for warmer weather!!

What a beauty. Perfect for the two us. Loved the layout and design of the home , the amenities, the secluded beach access. The sand going into the water at this point along the bay is particularly inviting. Loved it so much would definitely return and honestly want to buy a house or property nearby!

Perfection

What a stunning property! We’ve rented quite a few homes and this one takes over as our all-time favorite. Beautifully appointed home perfect for our family of 3; the owners have thought of everything. At one point, I said to my husband, the only thing they haven’t thought of is binoculars and he laughed and pulled out binoculars he had found on the shelf under the coffee table. We had a lovely time playing with our son on the beach, kayaking up the shore, sitting around the fire pit, cooking and relaxing on the porch swing. None of us wanted to leave, it was so peaceful! We will definitely be back!

Great place to disconnect!

We had a great stay - everything was done with the guests in mind. Kitchen was well appointed with dishes, pots and pans, and utensils and were able to make a great Thanksgiving meal, turkey and all! The beds are comfortable, the amount of linens and towels was receives an A+. Highly recommend this stellar home for a place to relax and disconnect from the outside world. It was quiet with spectacular sunsets and the occasional wildlife coming through the property.

Annual Birthday Getaway with Mom Oct 23-26 2023

Highly Recommend! Mom and I had a fabulous time celebrating her birthday at the Mason Jar! Mother Nature provided the most serene location (with perfect weather) to enjoy the bay and the local wildlife (dolphins, eagles, hummingbirds, frogs, squirrels) and Kristy/Brian provided a very clean, organized, well stocked, secure home to enjoy the peaceful surroundings .. the fire pit was awesome, we had a fire every night, and the beach supplies provided were greatly appreciated, we used the beach chairs to watch the sunset on the beach and I enjoyed a ride to the sandbar on one of the paddleboards .. thank you Kristy/Brian for sharing your beautiful home!!
