Mainly this is a KOA campground with an understaffed and poorly maintained hotel. The location is excellent, so it is sad that the facility is in such bad shape. Check in was difficult, and first our room had the wrong number of beds. Dirt on the floor. Check out 10 a.m. Travelers may want to try a hotel in Cape Charles town instead.

The location right off of the highway, ample parking, and proximity to the water we’re great!

We rented a golf cart and explored everywhere. Dinner at Jack Spot during the sunset was amazing! Spent most of our time at the wonderful beach, October but the water was warm enough to get in, just lovely. Memories we’ll have for a lifetime.

Food was good but very over priced

I liked that it was close to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. I didn't like that when I called in route (8pm) to say I go stuck in traffic and would be checking in late, that no one answered the phone. I called multiple times, leaving at least 2 voicemails in a panic over the next 3 hours. I got no response. Traveling with my husband and 3 young children and thinking we would have no place to sleep for the night I started to become even more stressed and panicky. At 11 pm we started to desperately call any hotel we could research along our route. Of course everything was booked which is why we booked our room over 6 months ago. Just as we were thinking we would probably have to sleep in our vehicle, we called one last time. We had someone pick up at the office and assure us "someone is always here ". We were relieved but the way this hotel handles phone calls and all forms of communications (email included) is very ineffective and caused so much unnecessary stress to our long, already tiring drive.

Great location

The room was very clean and the property was really nice.

Loved it

Very nice staff and unit was very nice.along with the available restaurant option.

Check in was very easy and we Had no problems at all

The staff is friendly and helpful. This is our second year in a row staying there , we are already planning next year . The people in the campground are always friendly . Sunsets are amazing

It was convenient and easy access to the beach. People in the next room had no consideration for how late they socialized.

Great location and access to beach. Could walk out into the water for several hundred feet before it became deep. Could tell the hotel was struggling with staffing. Check in time was 4:00 but room was not ready until 5:30. Just use patience. House keeping didn't come by until late in the evening each day. Resort is right down the street from a state park. For the most part, facility was clean. Required a mask in the registration lobby. A/C units to hotel rooms are units that circulate outside air exclusively so we didn't need to worry about sharing contaminated air with other rooms. No ice machine on site but they do sell ice by the bag. Refrigerator in the suites are dorm size. Bed was extremely comfortable. Jackspot restaurant has a lot of potential. Nice deck to sit and have a drink but the quality of the food was lousy and the price did not match up with the quality. Would not eat there again but would definitely visit the resort again and even consider renting a cabin (They are closer to the beach)

We loved how we could just walk down to the beach from our hotel room but that was probably the only positive thing I have to say. Rooms were very dirty, staff were not pleasant and the Jackspot Tiki bar was closed Sunday evening at 6pm and was not to reopen till Wednesday. Bear in mind we were there peak season. No activities for the kids, except for one morning they had beach clean up. Speaking of which the beach was very dirty and garbage can was continuously overflowing, beer cans on the beach, cigarette buts, bandaids, it was pretty gross. I think it’s fair to say we will not be returning.

The beach was great. We never used the pools. Plenty of things to do kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming at beach. They offer umbrellas and chair's. Tiki bar to get drinks and food. What we didn't like was the room. It was very smelly of sewage and very damp like mold. The beds were comfortable. Floors were dirty are feet were black if we walked barefoot. We will be back but next time rent RV or stay in a cabin. Rooms really need to be redone and a good cleaning. AC unit also need cleaning.

It was easy to find. The king bed was comfortable. The pools were nice. The 'beach' was very small and crowded. This is advertised as a family resort, it is not. It is a place for younger people to party. Lots of drinking, loud music, not relaxing AT all. There is no elevator in the hotel. We got there early & was assigned a room which given away before we actually got to check in. They couldn't guarentee the rented golf cart had a charge and it had not been cleaned after turned in. The carpet in the hotel was stained. Boats come from VA beach to party on the sand bar (Was told this happens every weekend because they are more leanient about drinking there) Our family will not be returning.

Stay was great, fun beach hotel. Facilities were well maintained. Room was very nice. Yes bathroom fixtures were dated, but they work. Also room was a little humid, but I haven't stayed at a beach hotel that didn't have that. Very pet friendly, fun for our kids who are 3and 6. I don't know if was a slow week, but it was also quiet, which was nice. Beach, pools and outdoor was very clean. Only 2 minor complaints, room was definitely not ready by 3pm, which was tough because it was pouring rain outside and had 2 kids and a dog. The restaurant was very nice an gave our kids coloring sheets. Second, it would be nice to have a towel rack or holders either inside the hotel room or outside the room to dry wet clothes from the beach/pool. If you are on the first floor there isn't a great option. Either way, we had great time and definitely will be back. 😊

Room was old and fairly dirty, stained carpet and sheets. Staff were pretty miserable didn’t answer call to front desk from room phone, when I called from my cell to the hotel main number was passed to reservations who just told me to walk down to the front desk. I stay at hotels a lot for business travel and this was the worst experience I have had and paid over $200 per night. Won’t be returning that’s for sure.
