Some of the previous reviews are a little harsh on this quirky hotel. Yes the bathrooms are very small and yes the hallways need modernising, but its a great little hotel for the price and the staff are very very welcoming and helpfull. Stayed here 4 nights its really close to metro and walking distance to bars, shops etc . Our room was a little dark in decor but it was cleaned every day. The breakfast is ok and in my opinion would be much better if it was continental instead of just typical French breakfast. Would stay here afain if visiting Lyon.
Stayed here for one night as we were going to a rugby match in Stade Gerland. I've stayed in quiet s few "budget hotels" and this is one of the better ones. Location of the hotel is perfect it's right behind Perrache Train Station and within walking distance of the city centre. Plenty of Cafes and bars dotted around the local area. Upon arrival we were greeted by a really helpful guy at reception. He explained everything to us perfectly and told us about getting around town and to the stadium. The hotel decor is quirky and the bathrooms are the smallest I've ever seen, and I've been on cruise lines with small en suites. We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that but overall a pleasant hotel stay. Oh and the elevator is on the small side too as you can probably tell from the selfie.
Despite the smallbathroom i loved thishotel. Perfect location-Brasserie georges restaurant right on the other side-not far from the trams and Perrache metro. Lovely receptionists, kind cleaning ladies.
This place is quite convinient. Good location near the Perrache metro station & tramway. Small rooms, even smaller toilets, but clean and neat with interesting artwork all around. Friendly staff and willing to help. One thing i was uneasy about was that- they insist that you leave the room keys behind whenever u step out. Also- the elevator doesnt work all the time. And if you've chosen to stay at the top floors (which u shld or it could get quite noisy) it can be quite a climb after a long day of exploring the city. On the whole- quaint little hotel.
The hotel is located in the margins of the business and touristic areas, close to some academic centers and a large railway station. Rooms are very, very small, but clean. Service is good, as well as breakfast. A very good option if you want a budget hotel.
The hotel has a great situation near to the center, old city and confluence museum unfortunately the hotel service quality is very pooor! I have booked two night via booking when arrived at the hotel the receptionist told me that due to payment card issue my reservation has never been confirmed while booking email said my booking will be still valid till 18h00( I was there at 14h)! I propose to pay immediately cash for the two nights in single room but they said it s mandatory to give a credit card and add that they don't have any availability! The staff attitude was very rude! After booking a room in the best western hotel I checked their availability on the website and was surprised to find that they still have availability...! The day after I receive an email of non show notification from booking asking the reasons of my non shown to hotel Victoria:0! I replied explaining that the hotel was overbooked... Two days after a new email from booking customer service [quote]: "We are writing to you regarding your reservation 1476567799 at Hotel Victoria Lyon Perrache Confluence, check-in date 2016-11-26, and check-out date 2016-11-27. Hotel Victoria Lyon Perrache Confluence has informed us that you actually didn't arrive at their property. Can you please inform us at which time you arrived there and with who you spoke?" [end] I really can t recommend this hôtel! Need to review their service quality! And staff honesty !
For being a 2 star hotel is a very good hotel. Situated behind the Lyon-Perrache station, is very close to the metro station and at 15 minute walk from place Bellecour. Regards the room, was little and comfortable and I had the lucky to be on the last floor and have a view on the Cathedrale de la Fourviere. The toilet is right, was very little but for stay few days is also good. The staff is very kind, when I arrived they gave me a map and explained me what to visit in the city. I can recommend this hotel because i think that another best value for money hotel is difficult to find in such position.
The bed is XL size and comfortable but very high. The room is Medium size, so you don´t have a closet or enough space to put your luggage. The room there is no AC and the heating system is central. I stay on October and the temperature are a little cold so I would like the heating had on and was not. The location is good and have easy transports to all city. You can walk 10 minutes and you are on the center. The walk between the train station and the hotel is not very pretty but the city is safe and we don´t have problems with that. The bathroom is XXL size. It is like an “avion cabinet” with shower just on top on the toilet. When you shower all bathroom is wet (including the toilet). They only spend one towel for person but I think it is because bathroom wasn´t enough space for more. You could ask for more on the reception. The pressure of the water is good but you don´t have space to take your bath properly. You don´t have space to put your accessories on bathroom. I couldn´t understand that hotel´s option because is not a comfortable option for the guests. It is the smallest bathroom I have seen.
I stayed here for four nights in June and had a pleasant stay. Staff were lovely, helpful when I needed things (such as a corkscrew) and happy to indulge my slightly rusty French! On arrival, I was given a map and told about a market going on that day, which was lovely. The room was elegantly decorated, with a very, very comfortable bed! Perhaps the furniture could've been arranged a bit differently to provide a bit more floor space and room for a luggage rack, but that wasn't a big deal for me. The stairwells are a bit shabby, but again, that didn't affect my enjoyment of the hotel at all. The hotel was a bit pricey for me, especially on the first night, where I suspect prices had been inflated due to the Ireland v France Eurocup match in Lyon, but that is partly my fault for being ignorant of the football! It was probably worth it though to be in such a comfy bed and not a hostel bunk.
Staff very friendly and helpul. Very good location as it is around the corner from Lyon Perrache train station and access to the city center is easy walking. Rooms and toilet too small. Toklet fits half a person... No AC also. That was the deal breaker. It is still hot there and the fan is not enough.
