I really enjoyed my stay at the Globe et Cecil hotel. My room was very inviting. The bed was very comfortable. I really liked the layout and the location of the bathroom sink and shower. The breakfast in the morning was just right to start off my day. The location of the hotel was perfect for seeing the city. Many of the city amenities were a close walk or a short metro ride. I really enjoyed the many restaurants that were in close proximity. I think the hotels best asset is the staff. I encountered a great group of caring people. This includes the front desk staff, housekeeping, and those who serve the breakfast. Within a few days I would be greeted by name in the morning when I left for work, and when I returned in the afternoon. I asked a lot of questions about the city. Each was graciously received and the responses very accurate. Many in the hotel spoke excellent English. I needed help to package a bottle of wine to bring back home. The hotel staff was very helpful, and took care of every need. The bottle arrived back in the US with no problems! What I did not like, I was not able to stay a little longer. I will stay at this hotel again. Thank you for your hospitality.

This hotel is located in the heart of the city. The personnel was very nice and helpful, the room fully renovated. The only reason I do not put exceptional, it is because of a poor for a 4 star hotel breakfast, I normally expect hot dishes (scrambled eggs etc.) they were in addition for 6 euros price. Anyway, I will come back, the hotel is still very nice.

The staff and location were fantastic. wet shag carpet throughout the room and NO HOT WATER prevent me from giving a good review, although the location, decor, and especially the people who work there really deserve a good review. Inability to shower on a cold winter morning is a dealbreaker, I could have lived with the wet socks from the carpet.

Comfortable, dependable, consistent is words that come to mind. There is no luxury here but it is a fairly new hotel with decent interior. Its the third time that we stayed here and the experience is 100% consistent. Very well priced With all the amenities one could require for a quick stay over in Lyon. The hotel is also very well located and within walking distance of all the really good shops and restaurants. Wifi is good and service extremely helpful and friendly.

I had a head cold and there was no tissue, just some packets of a substance that was scratchy and like a paper towel. Rooms are very smart and minimal decor, but ours was right on Rue Gasparin and we heard every car go by and rowdy weekenders later into the night. Great location and friendly staff, but just not restful for us. Upon checkout, the desk staff did not know I had paid for the stay in advance, but they researched and did not charge me again. Expect more for that kind of money.

We came here at the recommendation of friends who had many times previously stayed at the hotel. we were so pleased with the extraordinary service. The breakfast is really good idea because it is done wonderfully. we couldn't have asked for a location more apt in this splendid city

I stayed here for one night for a business trip and found the room and facilities good. I think it may be a little more expensive than other, comparable hotels in Lyon, so booking in advance is recommended. It has a good central location.

We had a double room prestige for 172 EUR per night. These rooms have been refurbished / repainted very recently, accordingly they look nice and the size is ok. However absolutely no amenities, not even a glass to drink some water and do not even think of a minibar or a cupboard to store your clothes. We were told that the office desk has not been installed in the room yet so they offered a voucher for one coffee, not one for each of us! The Spa is a former guest room where you can have a massage. The location is perfect, you'll never need a car to visit Lyon and the surroundings offer nice boutiques for upper class shopping. It was ok for a two days stay and for this price one should perhaps not expect more but four stars is something different.

Very comfortable, clean and spacious room. Comfortable bed. Very helpful staff and good continental style breakfast. Our room was a little light and I do d not get to sleep straightaway. The room would have benefittted from heavier curtains

Hotel rooms are being renovated and upgraded, probably to a level that I will not be able to afford in the future. I think I had an upgraded bathroom that fell just short of a 7th wonder of the word feel, the room was perfectly adequate, and the staff and location already justify the prices that they will probably charge in the future. It was fun seeing someone work toward their vision and enjoy some of the benefits.
