Beautiful peaceful clean

Great location inside National Park. Provided wonderful views of park. Restaurant and lounge was great place to relax and enjoy nice meal after long day. Would come back here any time!

Beautiful location. There was no indication upon booking that I’d rented a place that wasn’t upgraded and it was pretty sad. The dining area during meal times was mass confusion. The wait was at least 1-1/2 hours between waiting in line to get name on list and then waiting for your name to come up. (Big Meadows on the other hand was a very different scene).

Unlike other reviews, our room was spotless and had no insects or rodents. It was very well furnished and well kept up on the inside. The view outside, however, is not too good. All you see is the trees immediately in front of your window. The desk said they assign "third-party" reservations "like Expedia" to rooms without a view unless they paid extra for Premium. If you book directly with Skyland on their website, however, they will try to get you a room that is not blocked by close-by trees if you call them the day after you make the reservation. The Dining Room at Skyland serves nice, city-restaurant level, food but the view from the big windows there too is completely of trees some 30-50 feet away. To look out over the valley, or at the mountains around you, you need to order carryout, drive to one of the overlooks on Skyline Drive, and eat in your car.

Beautiful setting and beds were actually quite comfortable However -NO A/C NO FANS to circulate air and the one window that could open needed to be covered to afford privacy NO fridges in room NO bathroom vents so room smelled like a barn everytime the bathroom was used (even though there was a switch marked bathroom vents)

Great place to stay

Perfect mountain getaway. Peaceful and perfectly placed. The price was amazing. The Mountain overlook view was stellar. I’m definitely returning.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Everything felt very safe in regards to CDC guidelines around COVID-19. Great views! Only wish they had AC in the rooms.

The view was fantastic! But room was dirty. Cleaning was not good. Bath tub was wet just like someone just took shower. Lots dirt and dead bugs in corner of room right next to my head side of bed. No comforter , just sheets on bed. I think it’s new way for Covid but it was too cold. I could ask for blanket but I didn’t. Front desk was running by one person, line for check in was too long. Check in time was one hour later than what it says on description on otbitz. Outside table didn’t have top flat part, just frame and legs were there, I couldn’t put drink on the table.

I was happy overall with the stay.it has restaurant on the property itself and its within park so after long day of hiking you will feel comfortable after getting back hotel

The unique view of Shenandoah valley. The place is amazing.

Don’t expect refrigerators in rooms. Rustic decor fitting for setting. May have considerable walk from parking lot if disabled, depending on room location.

the location is excellent, and staff were wonderful. THe room was hugely disappointing. THe floor was sticky. The heating units old and appeared to have rust. Three spiders were in the bathroom.

We loved the location of this property. The dining room and entertainment was enjoyable. The rooms were what we expected for a Nantional Park, old but serviceable.
