We fell in love with Mahone Bay! Michael, the owner, greeted us at our car when we arrived and took us to our room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. There was a games room beside our room and a lovely sitting room downstairs. Breakfast was bacon and eggs with cheese, assorted jams and toast. I can’t “do” that in the morning so I was wishing there would have been a sweet roll to go with my coffee. (Or a piece of that pie Michael was serving on his patio when we arrived! Lol) this home is situated right in the centre of town. We tried to book a second night but it was booked. I would recommend it to friends.

There is such a charm in this stately old place - cosy and decorated with a mix of old and new, very delightful. (I am totally envious of Michael's kitchen). His breakfasts were really delicious and he had so much to tell us of the area. Mahone Bay is such a wonderful place to be a tourist and the location was excellent. The room was cosy and had its own private bathroom. The place is showing its age but truly that was no hindrance in our stay.

Grand old home in a grand old town , MAHONE BAY is as beutiful as the pictures you have seen. This B&B is in the perfect location, water view, close to everything, great pubs and shops all around .Michael is a lovely host , great conversations , lovely clean charming rooms , with all you need, and he serves an amazing breakfast , wow!! Stayed for 2 great nights , met some lovely guests as well , would certainly recomend this B&B.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Had a tv, air conditioner and own bathroom. Bed was comfy. The location was awesome-right on main st. And overlooked the bay The breakfast that Michael served was above and beyond. Scrambled eggs with choice of bacon/sausage; smoked salmon and all kinds of breakfast items. The home made jams and jellies were delicious! We would definitely return!

It is sad to see when a once thriving B&B starts to decline. Clearly the Fairmont House has been a well-loved, stately home at one time. However, it is now in need of some loving tender care. The exterior and the grand staircase are impressive, but, both need attention. The outside paint is in need of a fresh coat and the stair carpet is in need of a good cleaning. Our room was comfortable but plain. Well worn furniture and linens and cobwebs in the corners. The bathroom had all of the needed amenities but barely enough space to step in. The room floor sloped enough that the queen bed was actually difficult to stay in. Having said all of that, the location is ideal for walking to the many quaint shops on Main Street and the other guests at the Inn were very enjoyable. Our hosts (Michael and Thomas) were friendly, although it was very evident they are ready for a change (the place is currently for sale). Breakfast was ample and tasty and we enjoyed the lively conversation with the other guests. Hopefully, whoever buys the place with return it to its glory and it will continue life as a lovely guesthouse.

Found this place on the fly while touring. Super clean well-appointed rooms. Our host Michael was charming and accommodating and provided an impressive spread for breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

Me and my son stayed here for 2 nights and Michael could not have done more for us. Breakfast was amazing and such a large variety. We would regularly sit out the back and chat with the owner. I would definitely stay here again. So relaxing x

The outside is not attractive, but the inside is updated. The room is small and the bathroom is cramped, though adequate for an overnight stay. The host lives onsite and is very helpful. He even let us use his phone to make calls.l The breakfast is marvelous, probably the best part of the stay. The walk along the bay is also quite enjoyable.

Comfy Bed. Gorgeous heritage home. Fantastic breakfast with all the fixins including the smoked salmon. Had a great one night stay. Mahone is a fantastic little town with some great shops. 20 minutes to Lunenburg great location!!

Michael is the perfect host. His B&B is very nice and his breakfasts are well done, pancakes, bacon, salmon, muffins. All very tasty. He is informative ask any questions of the area and he can tell about it. Great place to stay.
