Eurostars Toscana

We had a modern room that was comfortable and quiet. Having a rental car, we also appreciated the availability of parking. It was a 15 minute walk to the city center, which we didn't mind. The only drawback was the area surrounding the hotel was very industrial and run down, which was unfortunate as the interior of the hotel was very nice.

The Eurostars Toscana Hotel picked up the phone fairly late in the evening, after I had already tried several others in the area. It is located close to the Autostrada, in case you need easy access. Lucca itself is a very nice place to visit, and the leaning tower of Pisa is only 20min away. The hotel-webside had made a good impression, and the actual hotel was Exactly as expected: Clean, Efficient and friendly staff whow spoke good english as well. They offerend a safe motorcycle parking, in view of the 24hrs reception. Service is Equal or better to any modern business-hotel, wifi was functioning perfectly, and the room was modern and comforatble (picture). And at a very reasonable price, espcially for a walk-in customer who arrived at 2100. Breakfast was Very Good as well. The (filter-)coffee at the buffet was labeled "american coffee" but if you prefer "Italian" cappuchino: just ask for it. Checkout was efficient. I can recommend this place, for tourism and business alike. Evening-meal tip: try the Ristorante "La Griglia di Varrone". It is only 100m further walk then the MacD, and soo much better.

We visited the Eurostars hotel during a visit to Lucca for a wedding. It's fairly well situated to walk to and from the old town (around 20 minutes) or the station (around 15). The hotel is not located on a nice street, it's opposite a car park and next to a burned out garage building which takes away any idea that this is a luxury hotel. The interior is neatly decorated and gives you the same familiar comfort as a stay in a Travel Lodge or Ibis hotel. When we arrived, we were given a piece of paper with information on breakfast times and the member of staff emphasised the late breakfast availability although failed to highlight that this was only on the weekend. When we arrived for a late breakfast on the Monday, we were informed that breakfast had just closed and although we could see that all food was still laid out, the staff wouldn't let us even grab a croissant. When we went to the front desk to ask about this, the member of staff put in a call to the breakfast restaurant but completely sided with the staff there and told us that we couldn't have anything to eat. Bikes are available for free hire from the hotel although we had to ask for this information. When we discovered this, there were around 5 bikes locked outside but were informed by the front desk that they were in use by other guests and wouldn't be available for use. The next day, we were down in time to take out two bikes and used them to cycle around Lucca. We returned to the hotel to pick up some things from our room and in the 20 mins that we were upstairs, our locked bikes had been given to other guests which was quite annoying. All in all, we found the attitudes and personality of the staff very unhelpful to guests which would definitely prevent us from recommending a stay in this hotel. If you are looking for an inexpensive clean 1 night stay in Lucca, this hotel is ok but for any longer, look elsewhere for more helpful staff and a better location.

After visiting Cinque Terre during the day we arrived at this hotel in the evening and was welcomed by a very friendly staff. The hotel is located right outside Lucca, and the city center within the walls is reachable by a 10 minute walk, or a 2 minute drive. We walked back and forth every time and it was not far at all. The hotel offer free parking right outside the hotel, where we could have the car parked while we visited Lucca the next day, even though we had checked out from the hotel, which was very kind and convenient, as parking in Italy can be both hard to find, and expensive. The rooms was nice and comfortable, and there was also a little fitness room with a bike, a treadmill and a multigym. Nothing spectacular, but gave us the opportunity of a little workout. The breakfast was very nice and tasteful, and had everything you could wish for. The staff was helpful and friendly, but when asked for tips for restaurants I would appreciate some better recommendation than "every restaurant in Lucca is good", because that is certainly not true at all. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed 1 night only. Family room was good size and beds comfortable and clean. Staff friendly especially the reception lady who kindly called our next hotel to find out if all was well I view of the Earthquake that took place during the night near the area we were due to go the next day. Used room service food good and bar girls helpful too. Breakfast was ok continental. Hotel central to town and town very nice plenty to see and places to eat. A good hotel to stay if you are travelling around. No coffee/tea facilities in room but we found the same on our 2 other hotels we stayed in.

The Eurostars Toscana describes itself as a luxury 4* hotel. It is not. My heart sank when we arrived to find it was opposite an abandoned and burnt down industrial unit. The staff we very unfriendly and failed to tell us about any of the 'luxury' services. We were not informed that bikes could be hired free of charge so we had to walk along side a main road to get to Lucca. The breakfast is very poor. Only things that are palatable are the meats and melon. In my opinion all of the cakes are undercooked or have been left to go stale. The 'hot' breakfast consisted of cheap frankfurters, fatty bacon and cold, unseasoned eggs. Truly awful. Our shower head was broken. When we returned from a day of sight seeing, waste from the toilet had flowed back into the toilet bowl. This happened more than once. The sink tap is broken also. I was after a cup of tea one night and attempted to call reception about 8 times but the phone did not work. No tea and coffee facilities in the room were afforded to us although we had noticed that other rooms had them. Other guests were provided with prosecco on arrival. I expect we had opted for a cheaper option by accident in the booking process which resulted in us getting a very basic service. No luxury at all.

booked the hotel as looking for modern fresh rooms and that is just what we got. So pleased with the quality of rooms and beds were comfy. Staff were great too. The only reason not giving this hotel 4 star review is because the location was really run down with a scruffy garage next to it and the fact the hot breakfast wasn't that great. It is a 15 minute walk into the centre of Lucca or you can hire one of the bikes for free from the hotel. So glad I did book this hotel compared to some others in Lucca which are not as modern. Very good value for money.

The place is really clean, the room has a good size and it is comfortable the staff was very helpful and friendly, the location was ok. The breakfast was good but nothing special. There is parking available.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and it was great! It was easy to find. Parking available right outside. Very helpful and friendly staff. We borrowed their bikes and had a lovely afternoon ride on the city wall. A must do! The hotel is just about 1 km outside the old city and it is just a nice stroll. A nice continental breakfast with good coffee were available too.

I've been to more interesting four stars hotel than this one. It is in an area conviniently located in order to access the entrance of the city and the old city (15' walking distance), but there is nothing to do around the hotel, and nothing to see out of the window. The room was a little bit narrow, but the bed size excellent. The toilet was nice but without having efficient locations for the towels. The shower was narrow and very simple. The breakfast was average too.
