Towneplace Suites By Marriott2.5 out of 5.0

Small room, as expected. However, the traffic noise was so loud there was no possible way to sleep. Of course, the noise kept me from thinking about how bad the mattress was. There was a dirty towel on the closet floor. I can't believe Marriott has their name on this hotel.
Stayed at TownePlace Suites in Lubbock Tx one night recently. This is an older property that is showing it's age in furnishings but is very clean. Self parking is available. The layout is older than other TownePlace Suites I've used but is ok. 3/4 refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, some utensils. I think you can borrow a cooktop from hotel services. Offers breakfast but chose not to use. Limited closet space with smaller layout than I've seen before. Stayed in queen room that was quiet as had requested location away from traffic (right next to busy loop so noisy in some rooms I would imagine). Check in and out were easy. I would recommend this extended stay hotel if you are looking for a budget level, no frills hotel.
First room was dirty and shower didn't work. Also the electrical cord on the hairdryer was melted and had exposed wires. Moved to second room due to shower not working. Second room was dirty had smashed spiders on bedroom wall. A butter knife with jelly was in the silverware drawer. Also no fitted sheet for the sofa bed. I always stay at Marriott brand hotels, but this one was horrible. The only good thing was the courteousness of the staff. The rooms are dated which doesn't bother me but the rooms being beyond dirty does.
This hotel is old but clean. The cleanliness is what stood out to me. The sheets and the comforter were white with no stains. The room contained a stove & oven, a full-size refrigerator, and a dishwasher. There is nothing fancy about this hotel so if you want something fancy, you should stay elsewhere. The hotel is near one of Lubbock's many loops so the traffic noise outside is very loud but my room was quiet until about 6:00 am, which is the time I started hearing the traffic noise. The evening was quiet, which was good because I am a very light sleeper. I had a room that was away from the loop so I'm not sure if the rooms that face the loop are just as quiet as mine was. I had a two-bedroom suite. The only problem I had was with the bathroom. The only mirrors in the room were over the sink in the bathroom and on the wall in the bathroom. A door separates the toilet & bathtub from the area with the sink & mirrors but the door to the area with the sink & mirrors and the door to the area with the toilet & bathtub need to be closed in order for two people to use the mirrors at the same time. It is also a tight squeeze for two people to get ready at the two mirrors in the morning. Also, the area with the bathtub & toilet is quite small. This hotel offers free breakfast but I didn't get up and ready in time for the breakfast. Dogs are welcome at this hotel and there is a grassy area that you can walk your dog on and the grassy area has a trashcan and holder with poop bags. I did not bring my dog on this trip but I thought the trashcan and poop bag holder were great since I know how helpful those trashcan/poop bag stands are for anyone who has their dog with them. There is a Best Buy, Harley Davidson, Arby's, Hampton Inn, Arbor Inn & Suites, Lowe's, and the Godeke Branch Library very close to this hotel. A gas station is just down the street and a shopping center with a Target and other stores, as well as a Cracker Barrel, are within driving distance. The hotel staff were nice and helpful. I would stay at this hotel again if I ever need to stay in Lubbock again.
As with other TownePlace Suites, this one is ok. Fair value, nothing too fancy. Clean, but a little worn. I've stayed here before and will stay again because of the price. Front desk is ok, but don't go out of their way. Very basic, but comfortable.
The staff were nice and the room was clean. The room is good but basic and fits the target audiences. The bed was small, soft and in need of replacement. The breakfast offering was better than most similar brands. Hotel is a good basic value play. Pick a room away from the front, some highway noise.
This was my first time using this brand of hotel. Customer service was very nice. Parking was free, plentiful and felt safe. My room was very clean. My room was nice, but not designed well. The tv could not be moved to comfortably see it while in bed. The bed was comfortable. There were no luggage stands to put your luggage on. The bathroom was nice, but the shower was unusually small and cramped. I didn't eat breakfast, so I can't rate that. I expected the hot tub to be open like most other hotels in Texas, but it was green and closed for the winter. I'd stay here again, but only if other hotels in Lubbock were filled.
Stayed here on a business trip looking for a good bargain for a one night stay. Prices were very competitive compared to other hotels in the area. Stay on the west/south side of the hotel since it was very noisy in my room facing the highway. I had to turn on the AC unit to drown out the noise. The room was clean, and bed was comfortable. The Internet access was a bit slow. Breakfast in the morning was OK with pre-formed egg/cheese omelettes and sausage patties, toast, coffee. The breakfast hostess was very friendly and helpful.
Wanted to get away for the weekend. Went to lubbock and stayed at the town place suites out on the loop. Checked in and got in the room. It was nice and clean. Went to go sit by the pool but the gate was locked. Looked in and the pool was filthy. Looks like it hasnt been cleaned in awhile. Oh well we went to dinner and came back to our room and went bed. Got up the next morning and went to have breakfest . Boy was i angry. Got there amd the only thing available was some cerial and so fruit. I asked the desk attendent and he said that they are having a limited breakfest due to holiday. I than asked who the manager was and he wouldnt say. After research i found out. I can undestand about staffing on holidays. But if you are that devoted than they should have closed all the way down. I notced the price wasnt lower because of the holiday
We stayed here before the Garth Brooks conference. The managers at the front desk are very friendly and helpful (if they had not been so nice, this might have dropped to 2 stars). Our room smelled a little musty and the AC was not working well. Fortunately they had another room available so we switched in the middle of the night when we woke up hot when it quit working. The rooms are spacious and clean. The noise from the highway is pretty loud though. For the price we paid it was a good value and the bed was comfortable.
